Pixel is the holographic AI system for the StarShip Dark Lantern, hull
number XFS-3, experimental Forward Scout. Lead by Captain Pucks McRae
of the Fourth Fleet, the Dark Lantern was the third experimental
stealth advance scout ship of the Planetary Alliance Core (PAC). The
first of it's kind, the Dark Lantern was the most advanced ship of its
class in the PAC and Pixel was the first of his kind to be the ship's
holographic system. Rather then having a base AI, as in standard ships,
it was decided to test out a holographic one that any member of the
crew could talk to one on one. The idea was successful and AI's like
Pixel are now a standard issue on many special core star ships. Pixel
was programmed to follow the standard fleet chain of command both as a
limitation on the AI's potention malfunction and as a basic operating
principle of his subroutines.

Pixel is designed to have the appearance of a 24 year old
anthropomorphic mouse, like those you find on Planet Terra63. He stands
about two feet tall, has brown fur, with a white tummy and white accent
markings including a black shaped block of squares on his right haunch
that look like a stlized group of pixels. His tail is about a foot long
and is not covered in fur. He wears a standard PAC Starship uniform
consisting of a tunic that.s light blue in color, sleeveless and
extends halfway downs his thighs.the light blue color indicating his
non command status. He holds the official rank of Lead Engineer. On the
base of his tail, is a small device that wraps around it. This is his
HoloSync, which allows him to walk around in normal space without the
limitations of having to be on the ship as well as access the universal
PAC network archival system. His large white tufted ears are flexible
and help simulate and enhance his emotions for crewman or other
individuals.

Pixel was retired after 120 missions on the Dark Lantern.
