Repeated Cycle
Here's to hoping this one takes off, cause I really want to do this one *crosses fingers* Mass Effect rp this time
Story:
After Commander Shepard, first human Spectre, destroyed the Collector base and the embryo Reaper contained within, saving his crew as well, he vanished somewhere on the edge of known space. Before he left, Shepard forwarded all his findings to the Council and Systems Alliance. Deeply disturbed, the Council attempted to reestablish connection with the Normandy SR2, but their efforts failed. A search and rescue team was sent to the Normandy's last known location, but they too vanished and were never heard from again. In desperation, the Council finally agreed active force was necessary and began to compile a list of candidates for a top secret mission. Each of you has received a request via your omni-tools to come to a special council meeting in the Citadel Tower itself. This is a deep honor and the request has promised it will be worth your time.
Background: With the role the Systems Alliance played in the Reaper attack on the Citadel, most members of the first three council races are at very least civil if not friendly, though there are still deep set hatreds and distrusts amongst a few. The non-council races are civil in public, but many are sore and some are actually violent when they feel like they can get away with it.
On the galactic level, Alliance space has expanded by 25%, but Citadel space, now supplemented with the Alliance navy has doubled in size.
now then, with the advances in gene therapy, humans have been able to splice their own DNA and become furrs, so yes, furrs are here, but they're still under the rule of the Systems Alience

Char sheet:
Name: Isis Cardello
Species: Baseline Human. (Dragonic Female)
Gender: Female
Age: 28
Areas of specialty:
Biotic Master: (Forfeiting second specialty to boost Biotic Powers. Shade said it was ok) Isis has complete mastery of her biotic powers along with some of the most powerful Biotic implants that can be found making her a extremely powerful Biotic.
Areas of weakness:
Weapons: Due to spending most of teenage and adult life honing her Biotic abilities she can't use anything more than a Pistol, even that is laughable at best.
Armor: Aside from a hard suit to be worn in vacuum she wears none.
Technological skill: She can use interfaces, and computers well. She can't fix, hack, or subvert anything technological.
Affiliation: Alliance
Description: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._3982662_n.jpg
Bio:
Isis was born on earth a few months after a Drive core exploded near the home of where her parents lived. Due to proximity and luck a very high level of dust form Ezero was adsorbed into her body allowing for large Ezero deposits to around nerve centers in her body. Though while she was able to live with the high level of Ezero in her body her mother died months later from cancer induced by the Ezero exposure.
She grew up knowing only her father. When she was about ten years old she nearly killed another boy by "pushing" him off a bridge, while the boy lived to tell the tale she was brought to the school for Biotics.
It was during this time that it was shown her skills went far beyond a normal biotic, it was also during this time that she spent a most of her time molding her Biotic powers refining her skills over the years.

Re: Repeated Cycle
Arratra, I'm sorry to dig at you, but there are a few things in need of clarification. First off, you have three areas of specialty, just saying "Infiltrator" doesn't stop it from being two very distinct things: combat and tech powers, so therefore, you are over the limit. Plus, only a master biotic could do something like the Reave. Secondly, without implants your character would barely be able to lift a rock the size of his fist an inch off the ground before exploding into a migraine. Same goes for your young life experiences, you wouldn't jump straight to shredding stuff with your mind. your book might move a little because of unconcious focus, but it's not going to fly to your hand or get ripped apart.
Next, your "creepy men in black suits." If people were actively looking for biotic affinity, they would have devices designed to detect Ezero spikes. You wouldn't really be able to hide it.
Third, you don't "enlist" directly into N7, those are the freaking badasses, you train for years to get accepted into N7
next, genetic splicing wouldn't really affect biotic potential in any way dude.
also, I'm sorry to burst bubbles, but that bit about having the stance and movement of a seasoned warrior and you're only 19? Dude, stuff like that is a trait of a veteran who's been in the game for most of his life. At 19, you're most likely just out of training and green, maybe a few tours of duty under your belt, but not enough to make you have the warrior walk yet.
another thing: the static lashing shield? ok, just no. the field doesn't lash out like it's alive and you don't want to touch ANY biotic surrounded by their fields with your hands, Ezero is TOXIC!
Finally, Even if you have slightly above average biotic power, you would not be eligible for experimental implants. Only someone with a mastery of biotics (like Reaper's char) would be considered for implants like that.
But again, most of this comes from having that third specialty up there. Just as a suggestion, I don't see why you would need biotics as an infiltrator, you can go invisible and snipe people.

Re: Repeated Cycle
Name: Lorik Maxhim
Species: Turian
Age: 29
Areas of specialty (max 2)
Firearms: As a Veteran soldier Lorik is able to break down, modify, and fire almost any firearm seen in and around citadel space. Stringent marksmanship requirements for Turian Agents means he is a capable of rapid accurate fire at exceptional ranges under almost any condition. He dislikes automatic weapons, feeling the need to go full auto is a weakness and preferring to drop enemies in as few shots as possible.
Technical Skills: The omnipresence of computer systems means an Agent needs to know when and how to use computers to shape the battlefield to his desires. Lorik is trained in hacking, splicing, and encryption. While not as capable as a dedicated technician his skills are adequate for almost anything he would normally come up against.
Areas of weakness (min 2)
Biotic Protection: Lacking any sort of Biotic skills on his own, his only defense against a skilled biotic is the shock absorption and Mass Effect fields generated by his armor.
Armor: Plays in with his Biotic Protection. Heavy armor stands out in a crowd and makes it difficult to move in tight spaces and aim for long range shots. Also most heavy armor sacrifices tech protection for sheer bulk. This is why he uses Light Armor, which while helping alleviate the above problems makes him prone to hard kinetic strikes from bullets and Biotics.
Affiliation: Turian Hierarchy, Citadel Council
Description: Like most Turians he maintains the markings for his home colony on his face. His travels have left him with more then a few scars, most noticeably a missing horn where a sniper's bullet barely missed its mark. He chose not to have it regenerated so he remembers to duck lower. He wears a targeting visor then interfaces with his modified M-97 rifle, the advanced optics and targeting aids enhance his already deadly efficient shooting to extreme levels. He uses a full rifle even in tight areas. His armor is the latest in Light Armor Design. It features an enhanced VI Interface for networking and communications along with extra capacitors to prevent overload attacks. The trade off is a lack of direct impact armor. The armored plates are spaced to allow full range of movement but they also are useless against sustained fire and/or heavy caliber rounds.
Bio: Lorik's background follows the same pattern as most Turians. He was born on the Colony world of Invictus, and apon the age of 15 was drafted into the Turian military. While there his exceptional eyesight, and reaction times made him a natural marksman. Once graduated from boot he was shipped to the Marksmanship Academy, one of the youngest soldiers ever to attend at the age of 16. The rest of his teen years were dominated by deployments with a infantry unit as the support sniper.
at the age of 23 he transferred to the Military Police and began training as investigations officer. The cool methodicalness he had picked up from marksman school served him well here with the ability to break down a scene piece by piece in his head. His first assignment was tracking a stolen weapon shipments which he located aboard the Citadel. As C-Sec officers arrived at the scene they found two Turian smugglers dead, empty weapons in their hands. Noting that his methodicalness was more suited to special missions then police work he was quickly picked up as an agent of the Hierarchy where he serves to this day.

I wish to join up too if it's not too late. I have work in the morning to like three-thirty pm my time so if you could not leapfrog me IŽd appreciate it, and since it appears I don't have to be part of the systems alliance and can sacrifice two specialty's for one good one I am going to do that, I should have a profile ready some time tomorrow. Re: Repeated Cycle
Name: Alex "Alpha" Leto
Species: Wolf/Tiger
Age: 32
Affiliation: Systems Alliance Marine
Specialties:
Power Systems: Heavy weapons systems and armor with high resistance to most outward 'infulences'. most of his 'toys' are found though various contacts that might not be available otherwise
Minor Biotic Abilities: Sheer Fields are his only strength, he has little to no control over how it reacts, only where it goes and how long it goes for
Weakness':
Tech: Sacrifices physical plating for enhanced shielding systems
Biotics: Zero to minimal defence against any form of biotics
Description: a 7'6" Wolf tiger Cross, with black fur, white stipes, chest area and hair all a white, thought the chest fur is a more 'dull' white than his stripes or hair. his hair is a short spiked white. his eyes are a deep royal blue. stands plantigrade with a very strong build. both his hands and feet have slim retractable claws, the one on his left pinky toe is white while the rest are black. often seen wearing a heavy suit of armor, with or without the arms in their proper place(the Armor that goes on his arms can be removed and attached on his back for carrying), and a vibrent green visor across his face.
Bio:Born to a family of furred shipping merchants, runners that moved high risk supplies from one place to another. often times the loads were kept in sealed containers, and they were paid a 'bit' extra to pretend they 'were never there' and to never look in them. his father was a black panther, and his mother a bright, somewhat still young, white wolf, making him one of the few naturalborns out there.
It was only a few years into his teens when they got a particulary 'obscure' payload. everything about it seemed utterly fishy, but the pay was such that they really couldn't turn it down. it didn't take long into the trip to figure out that the 'package' had been a disasterous set up. something in the package fried the drive systems controls along with the main core, leaving them dead in the water. it wasn't long before pirates showed themselves. latching on to claim their prize.
the recordings of the events following were damaged beyond repair, though from what was observed in the aftermath, the pirates never made it off with their prize. their ship was found still tethered to the shipping vessel when the SAM's arrived in response to a looping distress signal. and his the only life sign remaining. he was found in the lowest cargo hold, clutching one of his fathers rifles, empty, tightly to his chest, absolutely shaking. it took six of them to calm him to the point where he wasn't waving it in their face calling them 'ONE OF THEM!' and threatening to fire if they didn't give his parents back. his parents and the ship hands had put up one helluva fight, protecting him andtheir cargo to their last breath and making one a complete mess of the small ship of pirates. but when Alex saw his parents fall to the pirate fire, something in his mind just snapped. and the remaining fell soon afterwards, some, as othe SAM's reported, seemed to have been torn apart, shredded. With no family to return to, and too many sad memories left on the ship, he agreed to let them sell it, and was taken under the wing of an old military officer until he was old enough to enlist. he was tossed in with the "Jump Zero' before he'd even seen the training courses and fitted with the latest implant.
His nickname comes from his days in boot, he became the "Alpha" and the "Omega". first on the course, and the last to leave, he follows the trait ever since. he took a major liking to heavy armaments and the armor to match, not caring that it slowed him down. he never wanted to be caught without the ability to defend himself and those around him ever again.

Re: Repeated Cycle
Char sheet:
Name: Ishida "Denkou" Kiyoshi
Species: Eastern Altinian
Gender: Male
Age: 25
Technician: Well regarded for their mastery of software and their aptitude for technological advancement and the disassembling of enemy tech, Altinian Technicians are some of the best in the galaxy, largely credited to the fact that their military consists almost entirely of Engineer and Sentinel-esque specialist corps. Dealing in heavy output and damage oriented technical expertise their attacks are mostly meant to hobble a single really dangerous enemy or a number of smaller ones. Trading in three classic abilities for unique ones and trained in the use of both assault rifles, pistols and smg's they are required to train with heavy duty weapons as well so that they are always issued an appropriate one, to best compliment individual skill sets.
Altinian hard-suits are a hybrid between the heavy and medium variety; possessing the technical guard and mobility of a medium suit coupled with some degree of the heavy variety's damage protection. While similar to a medium suit appearance wise the suit doesn't have exposed joints, covering them up instead, through segmented micro-armor plating. Overlapping interlinked armor segments are assisted by an advanced synthetic musculature (it has standard underlying kinetic-gel padding of course) and micro-kinetic servos, equipped with advanced medi-gel application software and sophisticated computer systems for both targeting as well as sensing, it comes equipped with a SMART V.I. to further enhance those functions and like all hard-suits it has environmental protection, a breathing apparatus and independent air-supply as well as (per Altinian tech-focused soldier standard) cyber-warfare and electronic countermeasure suites to fight off hostile technical attacks.
Altinian Technicians have the equivalent of Sentinel Tech Armor only for an Altinian it is Projected Armor, which while similar is significantly more advanced though still susceptible to various biotic abilities, though it is able to resist the force of conventional biotics but for no longer than a second, it is most vulnerable to warp which bypasses it entirely, though against conventional weapons the armor is neigh indestructible. The armor has access to a built in RPS or Redundant Power Supply which enables it to store enough energy in a reserve battery pack to jump-start its recharging procedure, either to speed up repair to it post to taking damage or to enable re-projection more rapidly after it has been destroyed, giving it double the recharge rate of standard shields. Overseen by the hard-suits SMART V.I. the shield is designed to focus energy to points currently under attack, making it harder to destroy with rapid fire weapons and with micro-crystal lattice emitter arrays the shield is hardened, enabling it to withstand more damage from conventional and even heavy duty weaponry, though it is mostly aimed at making it resistant to technical attacks, allowing it to withstand such attacks for extended periods prior to failing.
A unique ability of Altinian Technicians is, besides Projected Armor an ability called Short Circuit which not only damages kinetic shield projectors but also glitches a weapons thermal-management system causing it to jam up. It also damages synthetic muscle and micro-servo control, significantly hampering or outright destroying some synthetic enemies and hobbling enemies relying heavily on technical or mechanized gear, as well as causing computer operated ordinance and guided missiles to burn out, thus becoming inert in their respective launchers. Replacing "Overload" the attack is literally a bolt of low-yield lightning; electricity guided by an ionized uv-laser that can arch into nearby enemies. This is achieved through advanced targeting and by redirecting the targeting laser to aim at additional targets using an inbuilt prism-array which splits the laser into multiple beams, each one targeting a separate foe. Each arch however only deals half the damage of the original and one third the original damage if it arches again, its effectiveness also declines.
While more powerful than a conventional Overload, Short Circuit is hobbled by its dependency on a rechargeable battery pack which is directly connected to the Technicians omni-tool emitter. As such the attack has an initial firing delay of five seconds as it builds up a static discharge, the delay increasing with each subsequent attack as realistically the attack can only be used three times, each time the energy level of the battery pack dropping by one third with the efficiency of each attack also dropping, each attack resulting in reduced damagew compared to the previous one until the power back is depleted, the firing delay respectively goes from five to ten to fifteen seconds. After this a three minute recharge period is required before the attack can be used again in battle, though it may be programmed to expend it's complete charge in a single powerful attack against a heavily protected foe, immediately requiring recharge afterwards though it's recharging can be sped up if the user is in motion, via using the micro-kinetic servo's in the users legs as a form of micro-turbine network as opposed to having to rely on the suits internal power supply. This reduces the time required to recharge the attack by a full two minutes though it is still a significant delay if the situation requires instant use, thus it is an attack that cannot be spent on lesser enemies often.
The last of the three abilities unique to Altinian Technicians is V.I.O. or Virtual intelligence Override. This attack is for all intents and purposes a straight-up wireless hack assisted by the Technicians neural implants as well as the SMART V.I. in his hard-suit. Most types of mechs and security drones generally have bare-bone basic V.I. operating software and thus are highly susceptible to hacking attempts and can be completely overwritten by a fast and skilled hacker, though an Altinian can do a lot more than just hack the mech, he can improve upon it. V.I.U. or Viral Intelligence Upload is the method used to transfer a direct digital copy of Altinian mech combat routines into the hacked enemy mech, turning it into a lethal, accurate and damage resistant ally of the Technician, achieved via introducing a series of modular energy transfer protocols so that a mech will ignore damage by cutting off electrical flow to inert components such as severed limbs, allowing it to retain function even after it's been blasted in half. Because of this Altinians are also largely feared out in the Terminus systems as their advanced programming allows them to field highly sophisticated mechs of any variety that are able to perform just as well if not slightly better than an average soldier in a firefight.
Altinian Technicians also make use of a cryogenic power referred to as "Cryo Storm" which is similar to a Sentinels Heavy Cryo Blast. Super cooled sub-atomic particles are focused into a bose-einstein condensate and ejected violently from the primary emitter of the Technicians omni-tool. Cryo Storm is capable of snap-freezing even heavy mechs solid, although only after stripping it of it's shield and damaging its armor. Much like Short Circuit the attack is subject to the use of an internal battery package, though because of this similarity in design it is also capable of being fired against either a single target causing massive damage, fully depleting its power pack, or alternatively it can be fired three times with diminishing returns. It causes terrible damage to organic enemies, freezing blood, muscle and bone, destroying shield emitters and turning otherwise tough armor into brittle scrap and is similarly lethal to synthetics dependent on fragile components. It is very powerful, but is subject to a five second first-fire charging period as the bose-einstein condensate is created and if fired repeatedly the charging delay increases but during the recharge period of the power pack the omni-tool is unusable for 15 seconds, as it needs to warm up to avoid damaging its projector.
Areas of weakness:
Biotics: Altinians possess biotic potential on par with that of humans, however it is significantly less concentrated. Possessing reduced versions of both Warp and Push the Technician is able to use them to some extent, though due to their inability to sufficiently concentrate the mass effect fields the attacks only dish out minimal damage to enemies but across a wide area, affecting multiple opponents simultaneously when it comes to warp and capable of knocking several light enemies off their feet in terms of Push, but if a targets weight exceeds 200 kilograms it wont even feel the effect of a Technicians Push and dense, sturdy armor will completely ignore the feeble Warp attack.
Specialized weaponry: Technicians are not trained to wield, nor equipped with close-range shotguns or long-range rifles. Because of this their effectiveness at these ranges is somewhat limited, though they are able to deal with short-range engagements via either pistols, smg's or technical attacks, providing the attacker is not something like a heavy mech or worse, a Krogan. At medium-ranges their pistols and battle rifles are more than adequate, though at ranges like those of a rifle they are completely useless, compensating by possessing battle scopes and advanced V.I. targeting to make target finding easier and to make their weapons more effective at slightly longer than normal medium-ranges, allowing them to use smg's at ranges similar to those of a battle rifle, though outside of short controlled bursts their pulsed fire is highly ineffective.
Affiliation: Eastern Sector Alliance
Description: http://kamicheetah.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2ssdu (One of the rare occasions the prude known as the "Denkou" of Parum Prime agreed to pose virtually in the nude, possibly under foreign substance influence.) Regardless of where he is however, he always has his helmets visor down, since Altinians are used to twice the normal amount of oxygen as humans are, thus the oxygen levels of the Citadel are quite frankly insufficient.
Bio: Most Altinians spend little over half of their lives out in deep space, Ishida is no exception. Born to a family that never stayed in the same settled system for more than a month he was constantly on the move, constantly "exploring" and visiting strange new worlds, even though those worlds were Altinian colonies he felt that each one had a subtle uniqueness to them. The ship he grew up aboard a mining vessel, a big one, designed to haul refined mineral, crack oxygen and heavy metals to where they were needed, unfortunately it was somewhat of an easy target for raiders while it was out gathering resources. The vessel was attacked by Batarian slavers, an attempt at capturing and selling technologically adept Altinians to the highest bidder.
Ishida's family and himself barely survived on account of an Altinian reconnaissance frigate picking up the mining vessels faint distress beacon, subsequently attacking and destroying the Batarians ships. Ishida's view on the military was changed forever, the ability and technical aptitude of the Technician and Mechanics corps. he witnessed deconstruct the Batarian menace like a simple infestation as opposed to a raid operation by heavily armed soldiers. Ishida, with permission from his parents, after witnessing many of his friends die at the hands of the Batarians, signed on with the military as a Technician candidate at the early age of 17 which is a full three years younger than normally, as Altinians believe in fully educating the one before choosing a desired career path, though he did continue his basic education alongside his military training.
He was tested and proved himself a valuable asset to the Altinian emergency response forces when he willingly took a missile hit for his commander, placing himself between the aging veteran and the incoming warhead, however due to having suffered damage earlier, his shields conked out on him shortly after the missile struck, allowing the blast to cause significant damage and most notably incinerating part of his once handsome face. Regarded as a war hero for heroic actions during a hostile incursion and despite his very young age, was awarded with the Adamantium Shield, one of the highest decorations a soldier can receive in battle. After significant repair to his body via both genetic enhancements and cybernetic replacement body parts and implants he was reinstated to active duty, the most significant components of what he refers to as his "upgrade" being augmentation of his musculature, bone structure, epidermis and the missing part of his face being covered up with a segmented bio-alloy "part mask."
An advanced cybernetic body part it directly replaces a portion of his skull, a significant portion of his brain had to be augmented to keep up with his new cybernetic form as well as his damaged left eye and optical nerve being completely replaced. The part mask is designed to enable him facial expression in an unnervingly organic way, segmented plates equipped with synthetic muscles connected to his normal muscles. His synthetic eyeball is an array of sophisticated sensory devices, able to see in virtually any spectrum of light and help direct his technical attacks, its bright ultra-violet glow being a personal choice. Earning him the nickname "Denkou" which means "Barefaced" in Altinian language, though Turians use this as a slang for politicians and for those who cannot be trusted, Altinians refer to barefaced people as those whose very nature is not hidden but plainly visible on the surface and in Ishida's case it is one of bravery and courage, of loyalty to his team and the desire to protect, no matter the personal cost to his persona.
Despite his heavy amount of training and complete education as a civilian and military Technician, Ishida is still a "soft-soled" rookie. The term has carried on through the centuries, originally used by the experienced hunters of ancient Altinian society's to describe those youths whose feet hadn't toughed enough to allow them to hunt for extended periods, though being sensitive to the ground was essential, it was more important one not be bothered by every little thing one stepped on. Ishida is roughly the equivalent of an N3 officer, experienced, yet still in training, he fully admits to not being a super-soldier of some kind, though he likes to brag about his cybernetic face-mask he avoids calling himself "skilled" unless he performs something that could be considered as such.

Reason: Needed some repair to the Cryo Storm and Projected Armor abilities and some tweaking to weaknesses, ought to be good now.
