The Apocalypse

Getting a few things out of the way first. This is for players who like apocalypse RPs, or were interested in Reaper's but didn't make in time to join. It's going to have a degree of complexity to it, but it shouldn't be too much - I'll talk about that later. Because the majority of active players are already in Reaper's, I'll probably allow more players, or allow some of their players in if there's too much space. Also I guess this deserves a bit of a disclaimer, I'm not trying to copy Reaper's RP - it's a very good idea!, just trying to open the experience to more people. One laster thing, player discretion is advised the apocalypse will be very unpleasent and very bad things can very well happen(of course it will just be inferred, I won't break the user agreement and all that stuff)

Anyway, on to game mechanics. Because of the nature of the apocalypse I don't think normal RP freedom will work properly.

* One thing, nearly nothing can be assumed by the players. "I find all the appropiate material to build a washing-machine!" nope

* Unless your character is a glutton, everyone will probably be living on the bare minimum requirement of food. Because of this there is a limited amount of things you can do a day before you're too exhausted to do anything else. I'm thinking you'll get 6 action points a day, something easy like 'fishing' might only use one point of energy, while 'constructing a new room' might use all of it, and some tomorrow.

* However, you can eat more a day and have more action points, but it will use more rations

* I won't stop you for playing a person with ill-intent, I wouldn't recommend it though

* I will provide accurate maps of the area and buildings

* When searching and other such activities I will do a little DM roll to see what you find

That's all I can think of for now, but there will probably be more, bear with me.

I'll post character sheets and how the apocalyse happened soon once some players show up.

Oh I almost forgot. I won't be playing a character, in this situation it just wouldn't be fair.

More of a question for you sam. Is this about Survival? Such as getting by, building a safe house etc etc after Civilization has kicked the bucket? Or will their be be zombies and the like.

Mmm both. The zombies aren't on like a L4D scale, not very many but something the players have to keep in mind.

Right, also if you ever want to do a crossover or something tell me. But I think you're just doing survival/rebuilding, and might not want the zombies xD I'll post how everything happened, right out of a story I've been writing. Only need to change a few things...

Well it happened, the Myans predicted it but we just dismissed it as myth. Don't get me wrong though, it wasn't natural, it could have very well happened any year - but that wasn't so, 2012 doomsday.



I suppose you're wondering what exactly happened. Well it started on February 5, 2012 of course. North Korea launched a much larger missile than usual, and it was heading towards Japan. In response America scrambled it's nukes, firing many at Korea. Russia spotted the American missiles and noted they were coming towards them, they launched their missiles at America. After that it all broke down, everyone targeting everyone.


There wasn't much left in the aftermath, however there was still some skeleton governments - they wouldn't last long.


America attempted to make a chemical weapon to crush what was left of the other nations. I'm not sure about the details, but the idea was to basically make people stupid. Several problems emerged: for one thing most people had a natural immunity to it, the people who were infected were more than just stupid - they lost all intelligent thought processes and became highly aggressive, last but not least America didn't preform the calculations accounting for the climate change caused by so many nukes being detonated - new wind patterns blew the chemical into the United States as well.


A very unexpected side-effect that happen to people who were immune to the chemical was that we transformed into anthropomorphic animals. I have no idea why this happened, but the animal you change into correlates to your favorite animal. Not that I mind, I'm a furry anyway, this is God-send!



The only other good thing that happened was Britain developed some kind of dispersant that they spread around the planet, it eliminated all the nuclear radiation. But it was the last governmental action taken. I think the zombie infection ended what was left of the skeleton governments. We're on our own now...

Species: Maned Wolf

Appearance: As a maned wolf he has the general appearance of a very large red-fox, standing at six foot four. His neck and lower jaw has white fur, while the rest of his muzzle is black. The rest of his fur is orange, except the end of his tail and inside of his ears which are white. He's wearing tan cargo pants, a white t-shirt, and a red & gold button-up long-sleeve shirt. He has his wallet and very old phone on him, but doesn't see that either can be of use now.

Profession: Doctor

Skills: Obvious medical skills, he's also good at organizing things

Downfalls: Absolutely terrified (my answer for me playing a character) he refuses to leave the their 'home', so won't take part in any outdoor activities

Appearance: Stands with a light to medium build at 6'4", he has light brown fur across his body with a darker stripes on his back and his ears, the underside of his jaw, chest and palms of his hands(and full fingers) and feet(and full toes) are a few points lighter than his base fur color. his tail is wrapped up to the tip, leaving only a tuft of fur on the end, same color as his darker fur, exposed. He has long, chocolate brown dreadlocks that naturally reach the middle of his shoulders, he often keeps them tied back with a piece of string or whatever length of cord is on hand. he has dark, DARK brown eyes, nearly being black. his ears are large even for a fennec. He wears a black undershirt, and black camo cargo pants. he wears an old Army trench coat and black fingerless gloves. he wears a small, brown leather pouch on his neck with unknown contents in it. he has a good sized messenger bag that he carries a pair of boots in for 'rough' or more dangerous terrain, though he will go barefoot whenever possible. he also wears a pair of Morphious Shades.

Downfalls:
What doesn't kill you...: almost always seen with either a cigg anging form his mouth, he gets incredibly irritable(more so than normal) when he goes without for any length of time.
My way or the Highway: he doesn't like it when someone asks for his help, then tells him how to do his job, he has his methods, and they've yet to fail him, till that happens, he prefers them to others advice, and if he had the option, everyone would run under HIS advice

Appearance: Short, stands at a mere 4'9". she has a soft, creamy color to most of her fur, the lower part of her muzzle and chest are more of a 'dirty white' along with the insides of her ears as well as 'socks and gloves'. the white is edged with a 'splatter' pattern as it transitions into the cream color. her eyes are a brilliant crystal blue. Her hair is long(bottom of her shoulders) and a slightly more golden color then her fur, she usually leaves it look, but carries numerous hairties to tie it back when the need arrises. she has a small wite gold ring hanging from each ear, along with three studs in her left. She wears a light blue t-shirt under a vintage brown leather aviators jacket, complete with the cotton fluff neck.

Skills:
Eye of a Hawk: she is a stickler for detail and can spot flaws, oddities, and detail at range or up close
Photographic memory: she can tell you when, where, what it was next to, under and on top of as well as what time of day she saw anything of interest

Downfalls:
Cluelessness: anything mechanical is completely and totally beyond her, she can build something, only if it doesn't intend to move
Computational Error: Technology seems to have it out for her, she knows how to use it, but any sort of tech seems to have a 50-50 chance of going haywire around her

Species: Western Dragon

Appearance: Avari is rather tall, being around 7' 5" standing up straight, with an excellent muscle tone. She is a female dominant herm, giving her the outward appearance of a well muscled female, minus the breasts due to her reptillian status. Her body is covered in Opal colored scales that overlap tightly, giving the appearance of being seamless, with dark blue eyes. Her tail is roughly about half her body length and her wingspan from tip to tip is about 15 feet. Her claws are short, but thin and sharp on both hands and feet.

Profession: Hunter

Skills:
I see you there...: Having spent a large portion of time hunting, she can track an animal by using the most subtle signs.
Bullseye baby: Avari is a deadeye with most projectile weapons used in hunting, including bows.
Le Chef is in the house: While she hates to admit it, this girl can cook.
Downfalls:
mood swings from hell...: Having both testosterone and estrogen coursing through her causes Avari to go through severe mood swings, sometimes on an hourly basis.
WTF is electricity!?: Anything electrical is a complete and utter shock (no pun intended) to Avari
uhhhh, I think it broke: repairs to modern mechanisms are beyond Avari's comprehension.

Gender: Male

Species: Ferret

Appearance: Asaf is a 5'9" white ferret with pink paws, nose and ears and pure black eyes. He wears a white shirt, unbuttoned at the top, and blue jeans, with a hole ripped for his tail. He also has an ear piercing in his left ear, a golden Rolex watch on his right wrist, rings on most of his fingers and sunglasses. He keeps his wallet, with large amounts of (mostly ripped or water-damaged) dollar bills and pound notes.

Profession: Fashion designer and fur trader

Skills:
Fit - Asaf has good stamina, and while can't overly exert himself for long, he can keep a fairly good pace in most physical tasks for a long time.

Boxer - Asaf is trained at boxing. He is a light fighter, focussed more on quick jabs and dodges rather than taking punches or relying on brute strength.

Downfalls:
Naive - Time and experience has done nothing to dull his insistence that rescue is indeed on its way. With it comes his continued attachment to money and valuables, and perhaps a slight under-valuing of food and water, assuming more will always be around the corner.

Prima Donna moments - Asaf is prone to the occasional Prima Donna moment, where in stressful or tense situations and when not getting his way he will refuse to obey even simple instructions. Due to the severity of the situation, these are not common, but can occur at the least convenient of times.

Inner-conflict - When not kept busy, Asaf is prone to long periods of silence and deep thought. If interrupted he can be quite angry or unreasonable, or emotionless and obedient.

I sorta faded out for a bit. Not used to being social, so forums are a bit odd to me. I usually check at least daily, but I'm not used to talking. Trying to get more into a number of things, this form included. I should have my character finished by tomorrow, or later tonight.
