Figured I might be some fun to discuss your favorite songs, I recommend just posting one at a time so getting feedback will be easier.
Anyway, this is my favorite song. Not necessarily because I like the music itself, as much as the lyrics are basically my theme song - just the way I feel:

Re: Your favorite songs?
Mine's futurepop about the evils of television, this version's weird -- normally there's samples of news reports playing during the intro -- but it's all i could find
(Randomly, the Speak & Spell in that Fireflies video reminded of
It's a quine!)
Wow, I've gotta say I'm fairly surprised at the kinds of music popping up in this thread. I mean, it's nice to see some variety, but at the same time it'd be nice to hear more of my kinda music XD
While I can't personally produce any kind of music (except for poorly playing the piano), music is a major part of my life. I don't go a single day without listening to at least one full album (or album's worth), but I tend to over-listen to my favourites, and then put them aside for a couple months until I've forgotten how awesome they are. As such my favourite song changes a lot. For the moment, my favourite song is actually one from our very own fandom, Matthew Ebel's Ballad of Jamey and Shawn, which is a little unlike my heavy metal normal stuff.
Before that it was even less metal, with the Inkspot's classic Whispering Grass
Before that it was the much more in-keeping with my tastes Edguy - Forever

I'm a pretty big metal head....but the truth is that many of my favorite songs are usually on the quiet, acoustic side. I like this one in particular because of its double meaning, using Superman as a metaphor for heroes in general.....plus, it evokes the whole 'death of superman' era quite well (even though it came out a couple of years before the 'death' actually happened).
Slice, I know exactly what you mean! As I do the same thing as well, I suppose I'll also go with a favorite that I just keep coming back to. I think there was about a two month interval that I didn't listen to it (not because it got annoying mind you).
Anyway, Kernkraft 400 (sport chant stadium remix) by Zombie Nation.
This song gets me pumped for almost any high octane occasion.
Edit: Hmm, I thought it used to auto embed youtube videos... Help?

Re: Your favorite songs?
Lately i've been getting majorly back into programming (which i almost completely dropped when i dropped out, stupidly (aside from "understanding maths" it was, like, my one potential superpower),.. (p.s. Vala rules #1!)) so recently i've been mostly listening to the music i was into when i left off (to try to get back into the mood, ya know?),.. mostly Goldfrapp plus like
..oh and of course:
Here's a more recent fave (have ya'll seen Source Code yet?):
Plus one for the darling Tachikomas, nature's nobelist quadrupeds:
Aah, I absolutely love that Scroobius Pip one. My brother showed it to me a while back. Can't say I like the style, but the lyrics are just amazing. It's ridiculous how much sense it makes.

Thou shalt think,.. for,.. yourselves!
I mostly posted it in response to Wolfy's one's casual vinyl tossing, but yeah i like the lyrics too. He did another one i enjoyed:
(I've always liked the idea that, like in Paradise Lost, god didn't actually *make* the universe but just kinda found it one day, think it's called demiurgeism or something.)
