I sometimes think life would be a lot more pleasant if we really were more like colony insects, as it is the Monkeysphere dooms us.

(if u want to hear an evo-psych explanation for "conformity enforcement" (in the context of hippies) from a Canadian rapper, listen to track 6: The Planter's Dilemma)

To summarize the summary of the summary: people are a problem.
From one point of view one of the best ways, and perhaps the best way, to make a better human society is to fundamentally alter human nature. This point of view, however, does not seem to be particularly common in the world today, and considering, among other things, the most high-profile attempts to do that or something like it I don't find that fact too surprising.

The guy is pretty much dead on right, Humans are in fact the largest creatures to form a super-organism.

However, I certainly found his style of presenting this point to be kinda annoying. Nothing wrong with his message, but for god's sake man, stand still for 2 seconds.

While i can still imagine the deliberate creation of radically new hominid subspecies for nonterrestrial environments (e.g. like H. sapiens astra (diminutive, zero-g tolerant, with monkey-like foot-hands) or maritimis (cetacean-style, for living undersea)), yeah in light of history using eugenics to make society function better is a non-starter.. Brave New World and the manga Appleseed seem completely implausible.

But that doesn't rule out natural speciation, adaptation to the novel niches created by modern civilization (like the Morlocks and Eloi &c).
