Was going through my computer the other day and I found the timeline I wrote out for the phyrrians, being my favorite part of the Arigas universe and my tendency to favor them in my writing I thought I would post it here to give context if anybody wanted it. It also serves as a neat guidebook for what I've written, tying all the main plot lines of the universe together.

Phyrrian Timeline since switch to AS (After Space)

-5 AS- 400 Year War comes to an end. Species blending commences.

0 AS- the newly unified Commonwealth of Phyrria launches its first space mission. The trip is a success, orbiting around one of the moons of Phyrria.

14 AS- Commonwealth of Phyrria establishes its first space platform, station Unity in the Phyrria-Scirta (a moon) L2 point.

16 AS- Blending project announces 100% completion

100 AS- Several permanent stations have been established in orbit around Phyrria. Space is starting to become cluttered with satellites and debris from bootstrap space development.

122 AS- Following the loss of the Unity station to a rogue piece of debris, legislation is passed requiring any space development, private or governmental to maintain a standard of cleanliness by ensuring any rocket boosters, debris generated, and dead or useless satellites either burn up in re-entry or return to the planet.

132 AS- Overpopulation starting to be felt on Phyrria. A large population starts to move into space, prompting even more space colony construction, as well as on the moon. First extra-planetary colonization mission announced by the Commonwealth Space Agency to the closest gas giant, Barlla.

145 AS- Colonial development around Barlla proceeds apace, all but one moon has a colony on it. The Sera Shipyards are founded on the moon Sera to support trade and further expansion.

277 AS- All planets have been colonized to various degrees. Tensions start to build as the Colonial Merchant organization takes issue to import tariffs and inspection standards. A confused exchange between Commonwealth Space Agency inspectors and a freighter crew lead to a short lived conflict. The Phyrrian Royal Navy is merged with the Commonwealth Space Agency, and the conflict is ended when a force of armed peacekeeper craft arrive at Barlla. More funding is put to the establishment of a new navy to prevent such occurrences from happening again. Sera Shipyards sold into a consortium of private organizations and companies forming the Sera NG Ship Design Bureau and Yard.

289 AS- Dr. Assana Novakis establishes Assana Station and founds the Amal Biologics Combine just outside of the Phyrris System, for the sole purpose of experimenting with highly dangerous organisms with potential for useful applications both in militarized and commercial applications.

291 AS- The Maeroon Company, which would go on to be one of the largest inter-solar corporations in the Commonwealth (and possibly the galaxy) is founded, and their flagship product is a new take on the can as used to store food.

650 AS- All planets across the system have heavy colonization, and the Commonwealth starts construction of a fleet of sleeper ships to colonize the closest star.

701 AS- The colony fleet arrives. Though the conditions were harsh, the colony eventually grew to prosper. A second expedition is founded. It departs but is never heard from again.

740 AS- The new colony system, Kiear, mysteriously drops out of contact. A full fleet is assembled to investigate.

782 AS- The response fleet arrives, they find the planet scorched, and the orbit of the primary settlement is crowded with unfamiliar debris. Landing on the planet, investigators find amongst the phyrrian corpses a new race of enemy, they have no eyes or visible sense organs, are quadrupeds, and have a single receptor mast for sensory input.

788 AS- The Phyrris system is attacked by the unknown race. The defensive fleets neutralize the invaders, though sustain moderate casualties. Most of the invading ships are neutralized by missiles launched from planetary defenses. A response fleet is formed, following the vector the ships attacked from.

800 AS- The response fleet arrives; two badly damaged heavy tonnage ships were all that were able to limp back from the fleet that had been over 150 individual ships.

960 AS- After several exchanges between the two races, neither party was able to breach the communications barrier, or to gain and hold any significant territory once they crossed the vast distances involved. The Commonwealth of Phyrria launches a crash program to develop any form of faster than light travel to give them the ability to effectively wage war at those distances.

1012 AS- After many years of struggle, a breakthrough in the understanding of higher dimensions gives the Phyrrians the solution to their problem, and it is quickly rushed into production. A massive armada of ships is formed to eliminate the alien menace once and for all.

1023 AS- The 120 strong, ftl equipped armada departs the Phyrris system.

1025 AS- After three days of fighting, the entire enemy space presence is destroyed, at the loss of only 20 ships. Unfortunately, the impromptu shore parties formed by shipboard security teams are insufficient to take and hold any significant ground, even with orbital support. The fleet takes up blockading positions. The Phyrrian Royal Marines (later renamed to simply The Guardians) are formed to deal with this problem.

1028 AS- After three years of hard fighting, the last of the enemy presence is removed. During the whole confrontation, not a single detail of their culture was ever deciphered, their communication system never cracked. A memorial is erected on their home planet, a silent reminder of those lost and what the phyrrians were forced to destroy.

1029 AS- the First civilian FTL ship is constructed at the Sera NG yards. Its success leads to a massive wave of colonization, mainly from those living in the cramped space around the Phyrris system.

1039 AS- the Royal family releases control of the military. The Royal Protection

Service is split from the military.

1059 AS- Talecriss-Kehdar announces the discovery of Feythirn, prompting a switch in ship design methods to the current grown style.

1119 AS- Phyrrian colonization has been far more popular than anticipated. Over twenty systems are equivalent to the modern category 1 classification, with fourty more equivalent to category 2. The Commonwealth enacts compulsory service to maintain control and security in its new vast empire.

1250 AS- The Maeroon Company announces the PT series weapons line, which proves massively popular. It is quickly adopted for nearly any weapons category.

1803 AS- The 1st Expeditionary Fleet is formed, with the sole purpose of being a moderately armed colonization force.

2130 AS- First contact with an alien race since the old menace, it soon deteriorates into a new war. The race is christened the Arjuns (big ones), as they are found to be a massive eight feet tall, and incredibly strong.

2142 AS- The first phyrrian powered armor system is developed to level the ground in infantry combat with the Arjuns. The Special Operations Command is formed, to ensure adequately trained personnel get access to this powerful weapon.

2245 AS- The war with the Arjuns turns out to be a series of inconclusive skirmishes. Only one planet ever experiences long, extended combat. Eventually, the communications barrier is breached, and hostilities quickly cease as its realized the aggression was caused by a misinterpretation of Arjun greeting protocol.

2333 AS- Relations with the Arjun become close, and joint projects lead to many breakthroughs. Foremost among these is the extension of the phyrrian lifespan to its current average of 500 years.

2565 AS- The Arjun are attacked by an unknown entity. Phyrrians chose to not get involved, as the aggressor race demonstrates relatively advanced technology, including a full energy shield on their ships.

2672 AS- Phyrrian scientists acting on 4th Fleet recon data are able to generate the first sustained energy shield. It is soon mass produced. The Commonwealth transmits the designs to the Arjun who have by this time lost half of their empire.

2680 AS- The 1st Assault Fleet is fully equipped with the new shielding devices. They set off to aid the Arjun.

2681 AS- The 1st Fleet arrives just in time to turn the tide of a battle for the Arjun homeworld. Eventually, they push back the other alien faction and broker a peace between the two.

2912 AS- Amal Biologics announces an enhanced version of their old AB series of bioweapons, and they are once again adopted by the phyrrians.

3012 AS- Contact with the Sureki Collective. For the first time, the Phyrrians experience a peaceful first contact situation.

3045 AS- True FTL communications are developed, and the phyrrian exonet becomes even more pervasive as instantaneous communications are possible over much of the Commonwealth.

3140 AS- Colonization begins in the direction of the Arigas Sector.

3340 AS- Bael Arms announces its XA line of charged particle weaponry. Though shorter range then the Maeroon accelerators, the significantly higher damage capacity leads to the phyrrians switching it to their primary capital scale weapon. Maeroon Company stocks plumet as they start to lose a market they once had a near total monopoly over.

3501 AS- Triton Propulsion Incorporated and Avartis Systems merge to form Notirr Dynamics.

3540 AS- The first Bio AIs are created.

3541 AS- The second batch of Bio AIs go rogue, due to damage caused by contaminants in the growth chambers. The swift PRN response neutralizes the majority of the rogue ships, but some escape.

3642 AS- Phadetech announces many breakthroughs in quantum science. Among these is a new shield and many innovations concerning the usage of antimatter.

3742 AS- First contact with the Zeltha. War is declared with the Amassari Domain.

3759 AS- First contact with the Serigans.

3808 AS- the Amassari are pacified. Many look on with a mix of wonder and horror as the first Blue-Zeros to be performed in almost a millennia are executed. The Zeltha are made the 1st Protectorate of the Commonwealth of Phyrria, and a formal alliance is declared with the Serigans.

3905 AS- First contact with the Confederation of Solar Republics. Though tense, it is peaceful. An agreement is reached establishing a joint research station on the far boundary of phyrrian Arigas sector category 4 space.

4020 AS- A phyrrian expeditionary fleet task force is attacked by an unknown race. At first, the Commonwealth blames the CSR, but comes to the realization that the aggressor craft were far too primitive to be them. The Phyrrians are left to ponder the incident.

4023 AS- Mounting tensions and military buildup in the Arigas sector following the incident culminate in an incident on the research station where human scientists are abducted by Phyrrians. The Phyrrian government was not responsible for the incident (it was later found to be The Broken Sword), and as such the Phyrrians meet the armed incursions into their space with force. Communications between the two cease, and the Arigas Conflict breaks out.

4025 AS- A massive incursion by an unidentified species on the far side of the empire draws forces that were meant for the Arigas Sector away. The Grand Admiral forms the first Sector Defense Group to meet the threat. They are able to hold the line, meeting the Conglomeration of aliens with aid from the Arjun and Sureki. The Great War begins.

4032 AS- A new force enters the Arigas conflict at the start of the year, the Wepernians. Admiral Harssta requests reinforcement as the 3rd Expeditionary fleet is incapable of containing the threat alone. The 2nd Assault Fleet is dispatched, and Admiral Skulbatha becomes Supreme Commander for all forces operating in the Arigas Sector.

4033 AS- The Ashiran Empire makes its entrance into the conflict. It is revealed that they were behind the enigmatic contact in 4020. Their method of warfare and the heavy casualties they inflict on the Phyrrians lead to a hatred of the insectoid races that lingers even after the war. Admiral Skulbatha makes an official request for additional fleets to contain what is becoming an even bigger threat then the Great War. She is told no, and ordered to hold the line with what she has.

4035 AS- War between the Confederation and Commonwealth is brought to a halt as the involvement of the Broken Sword in the circumstances leading up to the war is revealed to the public. Both governments agree that the war was a mistake, and sign the Arigas Treaty, allying against the threat posed by the Star Nation of Wepernia.
4038 AS- Peace is finally established between the Arigas treaty and the Star Nation of Wepernia, and the ATA as it is now is founded at the end of the year. Overall the outcome of the war is inconclusive. The Phyrrians in particular found the results lacking. Though they captured a few new planets, they lost slightly more than they gained. Grand Admiral X resigns, Grand Admiral Isla Antanie takes his place.

4042 AS (Current Year)- all non 2nd and 3rd fleet ships are sent to fight in the Great War, where the tide was slowly turning. Admiral Skulbatha’s request to clean up a Ashiran Empire remnant presence is granted, and Operation Chevalier begins. The tide in the Great War begins to swing noticeably in the Phyrrian Alliance’s favor as gravitic jamming technology stolen from the CSR is fielded.

4051 AS- Battle of Elysia Prime. What would have ordinarily been a minor skirmish involving a superior FSC force routing a minor Phyrrian garrison, The garrison mounts a desperate defense, holding off the FSC for two weeks. The Phyrrian naval forces are decimated, but the planet is saved by the timely arrival of the Wepernian 45th “Ghost Division”. The decimation of an entire FSC invasion force shocks the FSC so much that the ATA is able to take five more systems, for the first time driving back the enemy to the center of the Felan Sector.

4053 AS- Project Auriga. A Phyrrian run biological weapons program develops a potent retrovirus plague, incorporating a two stage design that would allow the pathogen to circumvent containment efforts. The FSC hears of this, and the Aengan Conglomeration takes steps to counter this development. They infiltrate the program and attack the ship carrying the weapon. The loss of the weapon sparks a furious hunt, and would later be called the Auriga Scare. It is later recovered and deployed the same year, devastating the FSC. Entire fleets are quarantined and travel within slows to a halt. The ATA takes advantage of this lull and all but eliminates the FSC presence in the Felan Sector. It seems that a total victory is all but inevitable.

4065 AS- For fourty years the war has raged. Whilst it was thought that pushing the enemy out of the Felan Sector would lead to the signing of a peace treaty, all overtures towards peace are ignored or met with hostility. At last the Nanakirnir forces reveal to the FSC their true colors, defecting to the ATA. ATA fleets prepare to move on one of the enemy’s capital worlds, blockading the homeworld of the SA.

4066 AS- Unfortunately for the ATA, the apparent lull masked a massive buildup. Up until this point, the forces of the Aengan Conglomeration had been largely absent from this war, only committed to defending holdings they viewed as critical. Ten complete fleets are committed to battle, and the ATA is slowly pushed back to their holdings prior to the Auriga strikes.

4088 AS- The Commonwealth of Phyrria suffers a massive loss. A surprise attack by the Aengan Conglomeration backed by resurgent forces of the Solarian Ascendency blitz the Felan Sector. Fleet Admiral Natashci Felit is killed in the defense of Felixia, the former homeworld of the Felixans. The planet is reduced to rubble, suffering thirty two hours of continuous bombardment. No survivors make it off the planet, and the Phyrrian 13th fleet, comprised mostly of Felixans, is all but wiped out. Heavy casualties are sustained in the entire ATA fleet, and a general retreat to a line of fortified phyrrian planets is ordered. Whilst the enemy was able to take the Felan sector, it was felt that this line of defenses would be impregnable, and in order to strike deeper into allied territory, the ATA knew the FSC would have to take these positions. The phyrrian government takes no chances, and orders the activation of Project H212, popularly known as Sanctuary.

4095- Whilst refugees had been fleeing the frontier worlds for ages, the elite of phyrrian society see the warning signs. Continual war production has strained their economy, and the Commonwealth is on the verge of collapse. Private “Lifeboats” are launched, never to be heard from again, allegedly re-settling in the Perseus Arm of the Milky Way. Sanctuary is fully settled, but it will be some time before the installations massive propulsion systems are brought online.

4100 AS- Betrayal. Duke Varrn Sylthis, of one of the most prominent of the phyrrian royal families betrays to the FSC the location of project sanctuary, as well as detailed specifications of the installation. The Empress Lei-Kan recognizes that if Sanctuary is deployed the FSC would have no hope of victory, and orders a massive attack. Using IFF codes provided by the traitorous Duke, Three entire fleets of Aengan ships, many of heavy tonnage infiltrate Phyrrian space, ambushing the Troalar Nebula where Sanctuary was undergoing final preparations. Fleet Admiral Erinyes Skulbatha and the Second Assault Fleet put up a valiant defense in the face of overwhelming enemy firepower, but the Battleships making up the fleet are starting to show their age, and one by one begin to fall. The flagship, PRNS Chi-Lan goes out in a bang, rushing and taking out two enemy supercarriers before being neutralized. Sanctuary itself starts to be overwhelmed and performs an emergency jump, never to be heard from again. Why the Duke betrays his compatriots is never discovered, but it is believed he did it for a guarantee of control of land in the new Aengan phyrrian protectorate. This is the beginning of the end for the Commonwealth. While the Duke would indeed get his land in the new Protectorate, ultimately all he would get is two planets so far beyond remediation that they had been long abandoned.

4101 AS- While the insectoid Tyralias Authority had been largely neutral for most of the conflict, they see an opportunity to eliminate the Phyrrians, and join the FSC. Phyrrian refugees flood into both the CSR and SNW, fleeing to anywhere they can find safety. Far flung phyrrian colonies, particularly those in the Carina-Sagittarius arm go silent, in a mostly successful ploy to avoid attention. Plans are drawn up within the FSC to split phyrrian space amongst the members, with the Aengans wanting to take the phyrrian capital intact, at any cost. They feel this would be a valuable psychological coup that would encourage remaining phyrrian forces to surrender.

4102 AS- King Rranto Phylitus, on his 502nd birthday, orders the dissolution of the Commonwealth. This is done with the hope that other member races, which had little reason to be in the war in the first place might survive without the Phyrrians. Every single remaining unit left is called in to defend the Phyrria System, forming a massive citadel. The King takes personal command of the defending forces, taunting Empress Lei-Kan. The sole objective of the remaining PRN forces is to buy time. Time for anybody who hasn’t yet to evacuate to whatever safety they could find.

4122 AS- For twenty two years the phyrrian forces hold against the best that the FSC can offer. Twenty two long, arduous years. Finally, the Navy is all but shattered, and the remaining ships withdraw. Prince Phylitus becomes overall commander of the remaining Phyrrian Navy. The King and his RPS agents stay behind, to hold the capital city. He dies defending the gates of his castle, becoming a legend. The phyrrian calendar goes to a new standard. After Betrayal (AB)

4225 AS- 0103 AB. The Phyrrian empire, the once vast Commonwealth is gone. In its place are four fractured factions. The refugees who sought shelter amongst the CAS and the SNW form their own governments. The remnants of the Navy form another, under the command of Prince Phylitus, who refuses to take his rightful title of King out of respect for the legend that his father became. And finally, the Aengan form a puppet government in the territories they take, ostensibly to show that they can be a friend, but in reality those who live there are oppressed and treated as second class citizens. A population of 25 trillion is reduced to roughly 10 trillion. It is a dark time for the phyrrians, and all are embittered by it. The Phyrrian Fleet, now calling themselves the Free Phyrrian Alliance continues to operate on the support of the Carina- Sagittarius colonies and the ATA, fighting a fierce insurgency. Total defeat for the ATA is prevented by one last act of spite from the Phyrrians, in the form of a kill switch controlling several deep space interplanetary missile launchers. Massive bombardment of core FSC systems with both antimatter and biological payloads disrupts their planned offensive and gives the CAS and SNW time to re-fortify the new front lines. When the FSC gets the situation back under control, they find themselves stonewalled, and the war settles into a stalemate.
