Re: Missions of the Black Orchid
"It isn't a matter of if, but when you encounter the Selkis in this neck of space. And you never 'asked' to help us in the war. Besides, either you want to learn more about this place, or there is some mechanical problem preventing you from going back." Trinity said, seemingly uncaring about the outcome of the conversation. "Now, I'm going to tend to our mutual friend. Feel free to discuss as you will." Trinity said leaving the room, quickly catching up to Huo and Kensyr.

Re: Missions of the Black Orchid
Huo nodded at Trinity as she approached a wry grin on his face. One ear piece still in his left ear.
"Looks like you've left quite the impression Captain, from what I can pick up, the Captain Tiamat is quite furious with you and your mouth."
Huo then indicated Kensyr.
"This one is still out of the count. If that's your new handshake? Then I think you need to control it."
Despite his casual words, Huo was.... if he was honest, a little unnerved by Trinity's new found... 'ability'. He'd have to ask the FSI if they knew about this.

Re: Missions of the Black Orchid
OOC: Bah, I could have swore I posted!
IC: Trinity got into the shuttle with her comrades. "It wouldn't be the first time, and I've had worse outcomes. As for him..." Trinity said, pausing to weigh her options as to what to do. "Just leave him be for now-"
"Captain, there's an incoming message coming from the Black Orchid." Interrupted one of the shuttle pilots.
"Patch it through." Trinity ordered.
"Can't do that Ma'am, it's priority 6 encrypted. You'll have to receive it on the the Orchid."
"Right, give me a moment to discuss." Trinity ordered, turning to Huo. "As you may know, a priority 6 message is a 1st Class F.G. distress message... Now if I recall, your priorities lie with the Novastorm and it's crew. As such, the best thing for you would be to remain here, see if you can't find out more about them. It might be a day or more before we can contact each other again. Therefor, I want you to try and convince Tiamat to meet us once again at this location." Trinity explained, bringing up a small holographic galactic map. "Instillation B-257. It used to be an old drifter colony, but now it's used for 'surface' legal operations. As you can see, it's not quite in the fringe territory, but not quite in the core systems either. Another thing to note is the technology used there. Most of it is electronics, and is powered by a fusion reactor, so there generally isn't any Vector based technologies there. If anything, this would probably better suite our guests." She finished, waiting for Huo's response.

Re: Missions of the Black Orchid
Tiamat was sitting in the Pilots chair of the Novastorm while Hayden the unidentified voice that floated around her mind was standing behind her like a guard though one would never call his look compensate, it was as close as one of his breed would come to such a look. Tiamat was waiting, simply waiting, she was half temped to the take the Novastorm into orbit this moment and head out into the galaxy by herself simply out of spite, but decided against it for the time being. It would send a bad massage about her and the nation that she represented. So for the moment she waited, and waited. “Alright, to hell with this, I’m not staying here or at least on this world, if she wants to deal with us she come and meet us in orbit…Paschendale begin main system power up, and careful, I don’t want to blow a power junction…again…” She said leaning back in her chair, the lights on the organic screens lit up displaying power readouts and ship layouts with possible areas of damage.
From the outside of the vessel power levels would have spiked in the engine, it would be apparent that the ship was preparing for a take off…

Re: Missions of the Black Orchid
Huo looked around at the obvious start up sequence and quickly left the shuttle.
"Aye ma'am, Installation B-257, I'll keep you informed on their positions."
With that, the Sig/Int officer stepped off the shuttle, into the cargo bay. As he did so, the full enormity of the task FSI wanted from him crashed down on him.
Alone, on what might be a possible pro-Selkis ship without backup. He was glad he'd brought his weapons. At least then he'd have something to do if all went bad.
He gulped, then turned, saluting smartly for Trinity. No way he'd give that dragon the satisfaction of his rather pointed stay here. He could only hope the crew of THIS ship wouldn't space him as soon as Trinity's ship left. His plan of action was to go back to where they'd had their meeting, and retrace from there. He clearly didn't need those bugs he'd planted if he was ordered to stay here.

Re: Missions of the Black Orchid
Huo took one look at the creature, thing, coming for him, slithering with dire purpose, it's arm extended to grab at the fennec... and did what any sensible creature seeing an abomination did, he quickly took the exit furthest from the theta, and ran. As he ran, he fired a bolt from his crossbow wildly behind him. Not bothering to see if he'd hit anything, he grabbed his communicator and toggled it to general comms, (i.e all nearby recievers). The words of the theta didn't register at all in his panic.
"TRINITY! HELP ME! THEY'RE GONNA SPACE ME!!"
He ran, fast as he could and took the first open door available to him.

Re: Missions of the Black Orchid
OOC: Okay, this will be my last post in this RP, as I'll be splitting it in two. I'll post the sign ups later once I get them written up.
IC: "Captain, we're getting another message. This time it's from that FSI agent we left back there." said one of the shuttle pilots.
"We have other priorities, besides, it's his mission so he'll have to get himself out of it."
"Heh, glad I'm not him..." one pilot said to the other off the comm system.
The bay doors of the Black Orchid opened, welcoming back the dropship.
"Captain Trinity Gensaniti on deck." a female slightly computerized voice said over the ship-wide comm.
"Send a med team to recover the Arken Guard on the dropship." Trinity said over the comm to the medical bay as she made her way to her quarters. "Sierra, patch the message through." Trinity said once she got into the Captain's quarters.
The first few seconds of the message was nothing but the sound of Vector weapons being fired and feint explosions before a male, slightly electronic, voice started to speak.
"Trinity Gensaniti First Class. I request the assistance of you and your resources. Orbital defenses of the planet Kura 4 are in a stalemate against a Selkesian fleet, and your ship is the only one available that can transport what we are defending. My forces are holding, but at this rate, I calculate we'll be destroyed in one galactic week. The Selkis seem to be sending waves of frigates, so the orbital defenses should be fine... but it's a numbers game. Eventually, this entire system will be overrun. Ralenk First Class, over and ou-" a loud explosion cut him off just a bit early, however, weapons fire could be heard just before the message completely cut out implying he was still alive.
Trinity let out a sigh, before exiting her chambers to the bridge. She pulled up a galactic map, and located Kura 4. In compressed space, it would be a 4 day journey. Hopefully they could hold out for that much longer.
"Lieutenant, plot a course for Kura 4." Trinity ordered. The crewman complied by touching various buttons on his console.
"All hands, prepare for whisper." he said over the comm system. The blue/green field of energy enveloped the ship as it entered into compressed space.

Re: Missions of the Black Orchid
It took a while for the words to filter through to Huo, but when they did, he was naturally quite embaressed. He took a moment to compose himself... and trudged back towards the theta, after wisely cancelling his distress signal.
He bent down, and picked up the head set, putting it on.
"So .. what does this do?"
His face was flushed red.

Re: Missions of the Black Orchid
“It allows me…” The theta tapped his chest, signifying itself “To speak to you see as I lack a conventional method of speaking and or communicating.” He tone was one of annoyance, and slight chuckle come through at the same time as the theta looked over the Fennec. “Follow me then, it seems you’re going to be with us for awhile so you might as well grow accustom to the sight of me, and the stranger things on this vessel.” He said as they neared the elevator, “I am aware that you’re an intelligence officer, so Tiamat might have a use for you, and I assume you have a message for Tiamat because you where left behind, either as a misinformed babysitter, or an informant for us, or to collect data on us. And don’t answer that, it doesn't matter why your here it doesn't change my purpose…” He said as they entered the maglev elevator. The trip to the bridge was short even though the elevator itself was small…well small for the theta as he took up most of the elevator, the elevator opened to show the Bridge of the Novastorm.
“Ah, I see you finally made it, I forget your name…” She said not looking up from her pilot controls or even back to look at the Fennec...

Huo nods politely at the Captain, still looking a little sheepish.

Huo spent a moment to look around... at what was clearly a quaint deck. What looked like analogue machines, clockwork devices... or at least objects that mimiced the style of those 'clockwork universe' men, back in the Renaissance. Certainly... quaint. Huo reflected that this must be a personal whim of the Captain. He straightens, and nods.
"Yes mam, I have here a disposition sheet for the location that Captain Trinity would like to reconvene, and where."
Huo spent a moment after talking and presenting the item, to look around at the very victorian style furnishings.

The fennec slumped into the chair and grumbled a bit. Maybe later he'd try to hack the systems. But for now, he wouldn't try. Not when he was so close to the Captain. Though he idly wondered what he was required to do as an intelligence officer... since he was not keen on discussing any FSI confidential information.

Huo squirmed in his seat as a wave of uncomfortable feelings surged over him. A light sweat broke out, and he swallowed a few dry heaves. It took much of his discipline to remain where he was, despite the sick feeling. He'd need to ask about this when they arrived.

(OOC* if it's OK with you, I'd like to join. I was thinking that the Shadow Dragon gets pulled into a quantum anomaly or something, that dumps it near their jump-out point. Most of the major systems will be down, and the hyperdrive will be inactive. That aught to be enough to get them to investigate.)
