((Yes, welcome to Station Treffpunkt. This Roleplay serves two purposes: The first is to provide a constantly accessible RP for newcomers either to the site or to RPing in general. Posting here will allow us to get used to your RPing style, and you to ours (Although this will be a lot tamer than most, and more simplistic), and perhaps allow us to give constructive-criticism where necessary.
The second is for any experience of player to try out and develop new characters. If they fail, then they can be easily dropped without ruining anyone's RPing experience, and the owner may well learn a thing or two. If they are successful, or could become good characters with only one or two minor tweaks, then they can be used in a proper RP elsewhere on the site. You might even choose to form a group (in character) of visitors to Station Treffpunkt to begin a proper adventure. A character you meet here may well end up becoming a future side-kick or perhaps mortal enemy!

Just before we begin, please note that your character doesn't have to be played exactly as they would be in their source material. If space travel or aliens don't exist in your story or RP, but you want to develop a character from there, you certainly can. Just ignore how they would react to seeing aliens (unless that is something you'd like to develop) and focus on the personalities of the other characters. Perhaps imagine them all as human, or as a nationality your character has never met before (But knows existed).

You also do not need a CP to join this RP. You can post in character straight away, although that may change to you asking permission to join if things get too hectic (I will usually say yes, but it'd help regulate things)

Finally, a note on my little intro above; You don't actually need to exit left or right, it was just flavour text. Feel free to start in the middle of the station, having already left your ship (or the ship you hitched a ride on) and perhaps having been at the station for some time. Who knows, perhaps you even live there! And the violence rule is half real and half not. This is NOT an action RP. Running in and shooting everything will get your character booted, but if your character experiences something that would make them violent (For example if they get in an argument and can't restrain themselves, or see something or someone they really hate) then you can do it for character development purposes. It may provide something interesting for other players to react to.

(( I may was well jump in and see where this'll end up. ))

Ryan Graywing has made his home on the station for quite some time. He's made his living working on the station's computer systems.

After ending his duty shift at the Operations Center he grabs his tablet and heads out to his favorite cafe on the station. Walking into the quiet cafe he finds himself a seat. A rather attractive looking avian waitress takes his order. "I'll have the usual." he says, smiling at the waitress, "A Latte and Croisant." she chimes in, "Won't be long, we've got a batch coming out of the oven in a minute or two."

Ryan smiles, and with that the waitress heads back to the coffee bar to prepare his Latte. He powers on his tablet and starts to catch up on the day's events in the tech and engineering community. It certainly is looking like it will be a quiet evening, yet again.

[[Hmmm let me think of my character... Hey Daryn you want to make this cafe of yours the main 'bar' place for people to interact at? Not sure if I want to post a new room or try to stay localized]]

(( It's the first thing that came to mind, so I went with that. If you want to use that, go right ahead. It doesn't mean it'll be the only thing, who knows where on the station the RP will end up. A cafe is as good a place as any to start off at I figure. ))

A tall and slight iguana entered the cafe, staring around with what appeared to be a cautious wonderment. His scales were bright green, at odds with orange clothing reminiscent of a boiler suit (though actually a two-piece) and brown cloth shoes with a very cheap appearance.
He moved slowly and fluidly, almost dancing, and always staring with that same expression, as though everything was new and wonderful. After a few moments he laid eyes on Ryan, a smile appearing on his face, and made his was agilely over. He alighted on the chair opposite Ryan with a look of relief. He extended a hand in introduction.
"Hallo. Strange by name, stranger by disposition!" he laughed once, then added quickly "Might I take this chair?"

Ryan spots the iguana come through the door of the cafe. He's the first other person to enter the cafe since he got here. He watches him move through the cafe, seemingly in wonder of what is in there. As the stranger reaches his table he sets his pad down on the table to look up at him.

"Well then Strange, sure you can join me. It seems to be a quiet day today." he says, noting the practically empty cafe. "You're new here, aren't you?" he smiles.

The iguana frowned suddenly, drawing back, and cautiously sat down. He crossed his legs and laid one hand on them, with the other dangling by his side.
"Aah... yes," he said, looking Ryan up and down "I suppose you could say I am"
He looked from side to side, then leant in and said quickly "You know, most people wouldn't have let me sit down. There are plenty of other places, you could have told me to buzz off. What's your deal?"

[Daryn]

Ryan looks the iguana over then smiles and chuckles, "Well Mr. Strange, for one I don't mind the company." he starts off, "And second, I'm not most people. The world is full of selfish jerks, and I try to not be one of them." he finishes with a smile, "Would you like a coffee? Tea? Anything?"

The iguana grinned, seeming to relax. "I think a Coffee wouldn't be inappropriate, given the situation. Thank you for the offer. So then, ah..." he waved his finger idly, frowning slightly "you. D'ya live here or just passing through?"

[Daryn]

Ryan waves for the waitress to come over to the table to take the Iguana's order. "I actually work here. I've been on the station for about a year now. They needed a good computer systems engineer so I took the job. The pay is good, and so are the benefits." he says with a smile, indicating the view of the planet out the cafe window "I'm Ryan, Ryan Graywing, and you are?" he asks with a smile, "Surely 'Strange' can't be your real name?"

"Strange?" He replied, widening his eyes "No, no, of course not. But I've always found the idea of names to be quite odd in themselves. You might even say I find them a bit..." he grinned "unusual. But I shan't bore you with all that Ryan, not when you've graciously allowed me to sit across you. Would you care to see a magic trick? They say I'm quite incredible" So saying, he pulled from his sleeve a deck of brightly coloured cards, and began to twirl them absent-mindedly.

[Daryn]

Ryan grinned at the still nameless Iguana. "Well," he said smoothly, "if you're not going to tell me what your name is I will have to think of something on my own." he taps his beak with a finger, "So... Iglan..." he pauses, "Iggy, yeah!" another pause for effect, "You're a magician?" he asks, taking a sip from his Latte. "I think I would like to see a trick. We don't get too many people around here that still practice things like that."

"Iggy" The iguana chuckled to himself "Yes, I think I like that. It will do for now"
So saying, he pulled one card from his deck. It shimmered red, and had an image of what appeared to be a Jester on the front. The Jester was leering and holding a small tree in one palm, and dagger in the other. There were circular patterns in each corner of the card. He placed it facing upwards on top of his deck, and then dropped them onto the table, so that they remained stacked. When he did so, the top card appeared to change to a golden wolf sitting above a throne of skulls. Grinning, the iguana lifted the deck to show Ryan the bottom card. It was the Joker.
"Are you aware of the history of the Gw'lilan peoples of the Sigmi 4 sector? Because if not a lot of social commentary may have just been lost"

[Daryn]

Ryan shakes his head. "I don't believe that I have studied them. Is that something that I should look into?" he asks Iggy smoothly. "Also, that is a good bit of card control that you just demonstrated there. I have seen tricks like this before, though never right in front of me."

He shook his head "Oh, no, it's your classic Court Jester becomes Supreme Overlord bore-fest, but it keeps the history lovers entertained. And I appreciate the compliment, I worked on it for many years"
He pulled the deck into his sleeve and leaned forward "But what is it you do Ryan? You're not employed to weigh down that chair, I suppose?"

[Daryn]

Ryan nods and smiles, "Ah I see... As for what I do around here, well I keep the computer systems up to date, secure, and working properly. No small feat when you consider how many folks around here are less than careful with what they do..."

((Oh, please by all means use whatever race you'd like to try out. I think I might be changing my character to one of my (future) Sins races, actually. I got a few chuckles out of reading my Iguana posts, but it's been so long I've completely lost where I was going with him. However, as a note to everyone just in case this does start to take off a bit more: please never fully drop a character that is in the middle of a group conversation or something like that. For instance, my first character is currently talking to Daryn's character. So I need to have him make an exit so that Daryn can create an appropriate response and won't just be left in the ether. Thank you ))

'Iggy' was nodding, but suddenly caught sight of something outside and leapt to the floor. A new figure entered, and his most notable feature was a large bulge, almost like a sack of fat, underneath his chin, which connected to just below his ears and extended half way down his chest. His shoulders were high, due to a very short neck, giving him the appearance of constantly slouching, yet he was still tall, reaching around 6'2". His face was almost humanoid except for slit-like nostrils and a large, protruding brow bone covering his dark, round eyes. His feet were wide hooves, on the end of long muscular legs, and his three fingered hands ended in neither nails, talons nor claws. The final finger bone was simply solid bone with no skin, giving a form of small hoof on the end of each digit. The figure was covered in short, sandy coloured fur and, on top of that, basic brown leather-like shirt and trousers covered by a noticeably more lavish fur-lined coat with many (bulging) pockets and golden chains. He strode to the bar with a very slightly stony expression.
While he was ordering, 'Iggy' crawled around to Ryan, and looked up at him with wide eyes.
"If he asks, you never saw me!" he said, before flicking through his cards and choosing one at random, which he thrust urgently into Ryan's hands "Here. A keepsake, to remember me by. I was told once that they tell the future. What does it have on... oh" He looked. The card portrayed a bird skull underneath a dripping sword. He gave an apologetic glance "Well... if it makes you feel better they're almost never completely true. Nice meeting you!" And with that he skittered across the floor and out the door with surprising grace.

Iggy's rather abrupt departure was a little surprising to Ryan, but given how odd that iguana seemed to begin with, he probably shouldn't read too much into it. He looked at the card that Iggy left and shrugged, putting it in his wallet. "If nothing else, it'd make a pretty awesome album cover for a metal band." he mused to himself. Turning his attention to the newcomer he looks the big creature over, then goes back to his latte.

When the large person entered the cafe, the door was left slightly open. Seeing this, the small humanoid insect took advantage of the situation, flying into the cafe with her long, thin wings. Being only six inches tall, no one had noticed her yet. The strands of what looked like hair coming from her head moved on their own as she scanned the room with her large eyes in a panic. There had been someone in here looking at advanced technology, who was it? She quickly spotted the person with a tablet left on. That was him! As the iguana went out the door, she landed on the table and tried to quickly explain what had happened. However, she had forgotten that other species couldn't yet understand her species spoken words. Her species had only just discovered that other species were in the universe, and they were only just being discovered by the rest of the universe themselves. All that he could here was the notes to what sounded like a sad and woeful song with a very fast tempo.

The figure, with (large) drink in hand, looked around the bar, before alighting on the two at the table and approaching them. He roughly brushed the insect-like creature aside, although his roughness came from not realising his own strength as opposed to any malicious or sinister intent, of which there was none at all, and took a seat, slamming down his drink which spilt a significant amount. It steamed slightly.
He leaned forwards in the manner of a friend sharing a secret, and addressed his comment to both members of the party.
"I am looking for someone," he said in a thick but not unpleasant accent "Perhaps you will help me find him? Thin, green, eyes stick out. He came this direction, you see him maybe?"

[Daryn]

Ryan shrugs offhandedly, taking another draw from his almost empty Latte. He notices the insectoid thing nearby, then stops. "Uhm... " he pauses, taking a picture with his tablet's camera and doing a search, "What are you?" he asks anyway, but not really expecting to get much response.

When the big guy sits down at the table though, he looks up from his musings to look at him. "Shifty, aloof, jittery, just plain odd?" he asks the newcomer, holding up the card he got from Iggy.

The big creature swept the insect aside tumbling against a wall. She fluttered back on the table, while it did hurt, it knocked some sense into her. She fluttered up to the big creature, remembering to use the language that had been translated from the deep space transmisions that her people had recieved. It still sounded musical, but at least it could be understood by the others. "That hurt." Then she noticed that the drink had spilled on the tablet, shorting it out. The worst part was that it had a data file on the technology that her people had sent to the rest of the universe. One that could have helped her.

A 6' Coyatian ((OOC: Platigrade Coyote anthro)) walks in... his fur was deep, velvet red in color and he had one silver eye and one golden eye. He had a cool smile as he walked in... he was wearing a regulation uniform with a red sash that went around his wait and then across his chest from hip to shoulder, the uniform was gray and trimmed with golden thread, wore black boots, he wore a gray cap with a few golden symbols. He takes a seat at the bar, placing his hat on the bar itself and coolly sighing... seemingly with relieve. He orders something heavy... a powerful brew to help end his day.
