    Default Unstable Boundaries

(This is the New AoR RP)

(Also I would like to point out that the use of Embassy characters are not necessary, feel free to use a new one. Just PM information on new characters please before you post.)

The Universe is many things. For the last few hundred years empires have come into existence, others have fallen in the annals of history; discoveries have came revolutionizing the entire frontier of space. Even now with the vast unfathomable stretches of space reaching out before these empires getting smaller and smaller with the use of faster than light technologies Danger is on the Horizon though what that danger is nothing anyone has seen before…

    Prologue…..

To the other nations of the galaxy, something would be wrong. Not wrong in the sense that it was dire. It was wrong in the sense it was something that contradicted contemporary understanding how the nations of the universes functioned. There where signals coming from open space, but wasn't the fact that it was coming from open space, but that it was coming from the space controlled by the Imperium, something that has never happened sense contact had been established with the Imperium. Until now, Imperium space had been dead zone as far as anomalies or transmissions where concerned. Nothing outside of natural background radiation emanated from that region of space.

Now something was off, tachyon emissions of extreme power where emanating from places all over Imperium space, this is something that was totally unheard of, at first glance these emissions seem like they where of weapons tests, or some new type of disruptive technology. Though the energy levels needed for weapons of this magnitude would be in excess that of many small stars found in the galaxy. And now these same emissions where coming from Imperium space. Though all contact with the Imperium on all fronts had gone total silent aside from the embassy for the last four days.

    Imperium Embassy…

“Everyone settle down…” Carsona was addressing a large group of Reavers along with members of species that where around looking to the Priestess for answers. It was apparent that the green Reaver was flustered and agitated by the event that was unfolding in front of her. She was dressed in her formal robes standing on a small podium allowing her to see over the crowd. “Listen! I myself have lost contact with the high priests, the most plausible explanation is that the main relay hub for Imperium communications has been disabled by the as far as we can tell natural stellar event, its very likely that the be the event that we are witnessing right now in Imperium space is the cause of this lapse in communications and that communications will be reestablished in the next few days.”

“Priestess!” The Reaver in question was apparently someone from the information department of Zendacar. Carsona gave him a small glare before letting him speak. “I have heard rumors that the large Tachyon surges are the shadows of weapons fire and that our own government refuses to acknowledger the event.” He said before Carsona could respond another popped up. “I heard that the Military has tested reality bending stealth technology and that the Tachyon anomalies are the result of a mishap…” If anything that was one of the unlikely explanations she heard yet. “Everyone one at a time,” She said before continuing.

“Of what I know of the Imperium’s projects into stealth and weapons technologies that both of those ideas are farther from the truth…” Even as she was speaking the Free lance journalists where posting over galaxy wide communications networks their theories and claiming them as fact.

“Imperium reality bending stealth tests have failed! Galaxy in jeopardy from new stealth technology! Is this the end?”

“Imperium weapons set to Rock Civilization! Has the New Arms race begun!?”

    Imperium Embassy:

Watching quietly from afar the Altinian representative to the Embassy; Ai'Den Rynar hid his slightly gleeful expression behind his armored facial visor. Altin couldn't survive in the low o2 levels Reavers were comfortable with and thus they could hide their expressions much more easily. The idea of Reaver weapons technology progressing to such a high level in a few years was laughable, especially given the fact the Reavers were a race wholly dependant on their ridiculus Astral Library for progression and advancement. At least, that was his own personal belief, that relying on what might be the incomplete archives of a long-gone civilization was a very illogical and silly act. Browsing through the various headlines by the halfwit journalists on the side, literally devoting the digital part of his consciousness to screening the data while his organic mind busied itself with studying the various men and women standing on each others toes, trying to get a question in. Stepping closer, gently nudging the journalists aside with his personal shield system he approached the priestess and raising his voice with his build-in loudspeaker system he asked her a question. "If these anomalies are not as you describe them, evident field tests into new stealth or weapons technology, then might I ask your eminence, what do you they are? Since there have been no recorded natural phenominae of this magnitude within your sector of space for millions of years acording to long-range astrological studies by my people I can say this with fair certainty, these readings are astronomical and couldn't possible have sprung up "overnight" as it were". With that he switched off his loudspeaker and displayed the by now commonly known Altin virtua-face expression of Zwz which was basically a mildly peeved smiley.

Altin controlled space, sector 37A, Centauri Beta cluster:

Despite not possessing sensor technology advanced enough to penetrate Reaver stealth technology Altinian sensors were amongst the most advanced in the galaxy, if anything, certainly advanced enough to light up like Altin cities during the night life times whenever one of the anomalies did it's surprise appearance. "Any new developments?" the main technician onboard the Argus, the Centauri Beta clusters outermost mining worlds Aegis defense platform. "None that we can detect CT (chief technician) all is "quiet" now as it were, despite the fact these readings are still lighting up our long range CNS suites like an Arcology during esta-fest (establishment festival, a festival common to all colonies but different depending on the culture that established it) that is". The ST nodded, the old, light grey furred veteran engineer staring off into deep space, almost like he expected space itself to give him the answers. "Whatever it is, it can't be good for us if the Reavers are somehow responsible. It's bad enough they can come and go as they please but if they start detonating stars or whatever it is they're doing over there I'd feel a whole lot better if we had some method of countering it" he stated with a sigh, chewing on a jaw-pleaser (altin candy that tastes quite sweet and melts on your tongue, basically a lollipop). "Chief... With all due respect, I'm more worried about the alternative" The ST looked looked at his subordinate down in his alcove. "What is that SO?" (shield overseer, similar to gunnery chief but more literal). "I'm more worried with the possibility of these readings not being caused by something the Reavers did or are doing, if they aren't doing this... I'm far more worried with what can cause something the Reavers know nothing about". The very thought sent shivers down the ST's spine. The SO Was right... The only thing more terrifying than something the Reavers were doing, was the thought that something was going on that the Reavers apprently had no idea about... Because if they didn't know... The thought chilled...

    Confederate Embassy...

Ford paces in his office as a few of the SRC Spatial Commanders on line...
CO-1: "So Ford'ez... has your other figured out what has happened?"

Ford looks to him with a twinge of anger, "No. Stop asking. Haven't you all done as I had advised?"
CO-1 chuckles as CO-2 glares at Ford, "We have not and will not until we are certain of this... we hear rumors and we need facts!"

Ford growls at the screen, "You don't think I know this!? As the Grand Ambassador for the Farg-ed SRC, I bid you bunch of bastiges a good day!" He then turn off the screen, letting out a loud and enraged roar, before stalking out of his office, past all the frightened frightened servants, officers and other people that had chose to lounge in the SRC Embassy, and heads for the station's cafeteria... and from there he'd head for the Imperium's Embassy.

Pirrad flutters down and lands on a Zrackli perch outside the area where Carsona was. He gestures for his Junior ambassador, military advisor, and a temporary science advisor to come over to him. They begin to converse in the high pitched chirps and squeaks of the Zrackli language.

"Admiral, What do you think? This would have to be a pretty serious failure of Reaver stealth technology if we could detect it all the way out here."

"Indeed," the vice admiral replies, "We have no recorded incident of an emission of this magnitude in the past. It doesn't seem like any sort of thing they would make, plus it seems pretty wide-spread for a test."

"If I may interject," The science advisor says, "Reading by our initial probes have been inconclusive, but odd results from some of the tests warranted further study. An attempt to reproduce them in the Nubian's scientific facilities have yielded startling results. There appears to be an influx of energy from an unexplained source. It seems like the conservation of energy has been violated, but that seems preposterous. There is likely some source we're not seeing. However, we have some other readings, we believe they may be related.

"Energy experiments in the hyperlight collider have shown a startling trend. When we mimiced the readings of space around the Imperium, the energy densities of the collider had strange results. There was an unpredicted loss of energy detected, and we couldn't figure out where it went. Several experiments more suggest something quite troubling. It seems that space around the Imperium is destabilizing. We're not sure what is causing this, but it's not a known natural phenomenon. Something is causing it, whether or not it's the reavers we simply cannot determine."

He looks down to his aide. "And judging by this one headline about reality warping stealth tests, some people may be coming to the same conclusions. Theirs is probably wild speculation, however. We'll have to get in contact with the Imperium. If they have created something that is weakening the fabric of space, we'll have to help put it right."

Pirrad nods. "Stick with me until this finishes. Let's go." The two ambassadors, military advisor, and science advisor flutter into the Reaver embassy.

Varal stood along with three other spike-dogs in the crowd that had gathered to hear the Reaver Priestess justify the anomalies. He watched her body actions and he could see she would rather knock some heads together instead of answer questions. The blue spike-dog regarded the priestess quietly, it wasn't often one saw a Reaver flustered and he truly wished to ask a question at the right moment. He'd waited his entire life for a moment like this; for a Reaver to break down and open like a book.

Still, he had to be cautious and he continued to allow others to barrage her with questions. The spike-dogs around him chittered nervously to one another, feeling that tensions might come to a boiling point if someone pushed the priestess too far. Varal, however, was only mildly concerned by this, what he was after was information.

He heard the Altinian's question and perked up eagerly as he whispered, "Yes priestess, if not that, then what. Bravo Altinian, now let's hope your question has the timing we all want. If not, little matter, she'll be too focused on what you've asked to pay attention to what I will ask..." The other spike-dogs snorted at Varal, the hated it when he talked to himself.

One of them, a young female with green skin stood beside him, "Perhaps we shouldn't be here Varal. This could get out of hand very quickly." Varal silenced her with a raised hand, "The possible benefits outweigh the risks Gilsk, we will simply wait until her defenses are down to pry at her."

Gilsk shook her head, "You're assuming Reavers ever lower their defenses Varal. You've studied them for a while now and still can find little that others do not know." Varal smiled, "At that makes them all the more attractive to me Gilsk. The harder they want to hide their secrets, the more I want to dig up the bones they bury under us. Karma has a strange method. Sooner or later, the fact that they know so much about us will come around and we will know more about them."

Gilsk let out a slight, irritated hiss, "I personally think you're sticking your snout in a vundaa nest without sniffing for traggers. Your karma may come back around and have them become interested in you so much that they split you right in two just to see your insides." Varal laughed softly, "Oh that would be irony Gilsk, but I doubt they'd be that forward in getting information. We never see the Reavers outside of this embassy and yet they are the best spies in the known universe."

She nodded at him, "They're also the best assassins for the same reason. Be very careful Varal." He snorted at her, "Being careful is how you survive long enough to answer the mystery."

a sofa was tossed aside as the Recin paced back and forth through the main hall "This is unacceptable!" He roared at a small hologram standing on the high priestess's desk. he dug his claws into the desk's soft wood, making the Deitran sitting behind it cringe. she happened to still like that desk

"I'm sorry Rick, but there's nothing I can do!" the hologram appeared to be wearing a spec ops uniform, something highly unusual for a fleet Admiral "There is no data to back up that the Imperium is out to get us!" all of the orions appeared to have been caught at off hours to deal with this crisis of data. Rick was wearing what seemed to be some kind of heavy armor with large numbering and team stripes on it, a sign he'd been playing some kind fo war game in the holo-suite. Jess was in casual, and Kane...well, Kane was wearing the same thing he always wore. The fleet admiral appeared to have been pried from some sort of a training exercise

"Then just send me the Exodus! the captain owes me a favo--"

"No Rick!" the hologram cut him off "I'm not devoting those kind of resources to a whim! I can't! The Trinity ships are not something to be used to explore an anomaly!"

Rick stood simmering, teeth half barred at the strait up shot. "I'm in" Kane broke the silence with a holoscreen. an image of the Reavers high priestess appeared surrounded by the various memebers of her own embassy as well as various others "I just want to remind you how...illegal...this is"

"You actually care Kane?" Jessica raised an eyebrow at the usually devious canine

"No. not really. I just wanted to remind you just how illegal this is...I'm probably going to get into a shit ton of trouble for this...again" Hacking the stations various camera systems had become something of a past time for the ancient canine. to him it was somethign to pass the time aside from sleeping. this hack in particular had been fairly quick and dirty so that he could make the connection before the reaver had finished, and would probably alert the central secuity station pretty quickly. he keyed in another line of code and centered the camera on the speaker

The four listened in on the hacked cam to what the reaver was saying, having been informed early enough by one of the Deitrans that had been wandering the complex to have caught most of the speech "Well, it would sound to me as if not even the Reaver councilate knows what's happening" The hologram on the table chided Rick "I just can't justify sending one of the biggest ships in the fleet to find out if the Reavers screwed some shit up or are out to kill us" the hologram leaned back and crossed her arms "I'll tell you what, find me more proof, and I'll send you the Icarus...Deal?" Jessica groaned and put her face in her hands, the hologram spun to face her "Apologies high priestess, have I done something wrong?"

"No...I just really wish you hadn't given him that option" She gestured to the now empty space where Rick had been standing moments earlier, then to the other couch that had been tossed on his way toward the Embassys door. the Hologram looked, wide-eyed, at the sudden carnage "He tends to become irrational when things like this happen...it's a Recin thing I think, his warriors instinct is taking over, he's going to do whatever it takes now to get that ship and find out what's happening in Reaver space"

"sure, i hack shit, but he destroys stuff and barely gets chided for it!" Kane grumbled from a still intact chair

"Oh quit bitching Kane, you do that shit cause you're bored...Rick's a special case...in that he actually means well" Kane snorted adn returned to his own holoscreen. Jessica tapped a button on her desks holoscreen, the Holo form of the Admiral still watching the whole thing unfolding in awe. They treat this like it's an everyday thing! the Admiral thought how do they live like this!? "Tal, Mal?" Jessica spoke to the desks comm chip

"Yes High preistess?" the Twins sang in unison as they each stuck their head into the room from one the rooms air vents, one in the ceiling and one in the wall.

Jessica looked between them, then shook her head "ya know what...no, I don't want to know. Girls, Rick's out again. could you two make sure he doesn't do anything...too rash, please?"

"Of course, High preistess!" they sang out again, ducking back into the vents a moments before vaulting out at a dash out of the embassy.

"You...don't send Kane? he seems far more capible than..." she gestured to the vanishing vixen twins

"Tal and Mal. and no. Kane has a habit of pissing Rick off more...and that's the last thing I need today" she pushed the chair back and moved around the desk "I'll get back to you again one I get Rick calmed down and figure out what's actually going on" The Deitran weaved her way through the tossed Chairs and couches and out of the embassy

The hologram stood there in silence, forgetting the proper replies to the priestess. she blinked twice and snapped out of it, looking to Kane. she started to say something, but Kane's gruff voice beat her to it "You get used to it" she closed her mouth and stood a moment in silence. then tapped something off cam and simply fizzled away without another word.

Carsona frowned seeing some of the headlines run by her Core Net linked lens. She growled to herself before reverting back to her native language for a moment. She seemed to be yelling at the crowd, primaraly the reporters though most of it was totally inaudible to non Reavers do the nature of their native language. The two reporters mid way through her silent rant blotted for no apparent reason for anyone that was watching about two seconds after they started running they where gone. Not gone in the sense that they ran off but in the sense that they disappeared into thin air. Only meant one thing, it was confirmed that Imperium security forces where now present. The Reavers in the group quieted down considerably after that. Carsona now seemed a little more relaxed as she turned to the Altinian in the group.

“Alright Ai'Den you want my opinion what is happening.” She looked at him, she had returned to the galactic standard language at this point. Even though she was looking at his visor she still was able to lock eyes with him giving a stare that look like it was boring into his very soul. “Fine.” She crossed her arms adjusting her cloak. “I think the entire event is only one of four things. It can be ether A: a natural phenomenon the likes of which we have never seen before. B: A non natural event cause by a technology we have never encountered before. C: An event caused by long dormant, but now active Astral Shadow technology. Or D: None of the above and we are going to find out what is causing this is not going to be pleasant.” Even as she explaining her opinions, she caught sight of the small group of Zrackli making their way towards her but didn’t acknowledge them just yet.

“Any more questions?” She looked at the group standing in front of her, for the moment the Reavers in the group which made up the vast majority of them where silent looking at the members of other species wondering what they where going to ask the priestess.

Pirrad and his entourage arrive in the room and find a suitable perch. When no one else was asking questions, Pirrad piped up. "If it is a matter of state security, we can discuss this in private." Pirrad says. "But we may have relevant information."

Ford walks in just a little later then he likes, he'd straighten his clothing and smooth his hair a bit, have a seat, and once Pirrad pips up and no one seem to ask any questions, "I agree with Ambassador Pirrad, my good priestess." He stands, "We must have a private meeting so we can clear things as well as ensure them." After making a slight glance to those around him, he takes a seat.

A great big blinking "O.O" appeared on Ai'Den's polarized visor. Reavers were indeed frightening when they wanted to be. He grinned, his education on Reavers was a thorough as it could be, after all, Reavers were mysterious characters and what anybody knew about them was what they considered too insignificant to bother preventing anyone from learning. "Effective crowd control, your eminence" Ai'Den suddenly spoke, however he did not speak in the hearing range of the nearby Zrackli and Se'Rallie ambassadors. He spoke in Reaver. "Making pesky news reporters who have no regard for any semblance of information gathering protocols disappear is something I wish everybody could do" he spoke with a bright "X3" blinking on his visor. His speach was soft in mannerhe and his Reaver was flawless, even if he needed the implants he possessed to speak it he put a lot of effort into making it sound natural and fluent and not mechanical or synthasized.

Turning to face the Zrackli and Se'Rallie ambassadors he switched back to "standard" the language all had learned to speak between different races before a bright "" appeared on his visor again. "I whole heartedly agree, this is something that warrants a more private session. Information of great sensitivity should not be exposed prematurely to the press, they tend to warp a simple warning into mass hysteria". He stated plainly twitching his ears, the micro-servo's in his ear covers animating them without noise or mechanical pause.

He shoved his way through the rest that didn't move, completely disregarding who, or what, they represented, and easily doing so with most of them with how much he towered over them , "REAVER! I WANT SOME ANSWERS REAVER" he suddenly felt an arm latch onto his own, and start to pull back as the cloak made him vanish. he reappeared a moment later with a roar as he flung the reaver sec officer at a wall, knocking over a couple reporters in the back unlucky enough to be caught between his throw and the wall.

The twins came runnig in just as the guard hit the wall "oh boy...too rash?" the other nodded in agreement "Too Rash" and pulled a small container from one of the armored pouches bolted to her uniform, popped it open and tossed one of the items within to her sister, while keeping one for herself, and both dashed in after Rick

Rick turned on the Reaver Priestess "I want answers Reaver!" He growled and pointed and accusing finger at the reaver "What the..." he paused, his train of thought starting to loose it's coherence "...the Fuck...is..is.." the fire in his eyes began to fade some as he blinked, and shook his head violently, and trying to keep himself on target and awake "...going on...in your..." he started to tip, falling forward without even realizing he was. he hit the metal flooring with a heavy thud "...space..." was all he got out before he was snoozing lightly, two needles sticking out of the base of his neck, and the twins now sitting on his back

"Apologies of the Orions, miss Reaver Priestess!" they sang out in unison as they removed the now empty Tranqs from Ricks neck. the usual line when Rick lost it. no one bothered apologising for Kane anymore, but Rick...his intentions were at least good, if rash sometimes

"Thank you girls, that will do" Jessica finally made her apperance, having taken her time and maintain her composure, letting the twins handle the messy work of taking Rick down. the twins nodded, and grabbed Ricks legs and started to drag him clear, his light snoring accenting the scraping and dragging sounds of his armor "As they said, you have the apologies or the Orions. Rick has been rather...Exciteable since our latest sensor readings came in. Though I must say, I'm as curious, though in a less distructive manner, to know exactly what it is that's going on"

Varal stayed toward the back of the assembled group, watching the events unfold around him. He mused quietly to himself, "So much call for secrecy despite the desire to know everything. None of the options she stated are very good." Gilsk looked at him with a raised eye-ridge, "How can the natural phenomenon not be good?"

Varal gazed at her out of the corner of his eye, "Because if it can cause problems for the Reavers, it's bad news for us and it cause a chain reaction through space. I hate exercising my authority as an ambassador, but I have little choice in this matter."

He stood with a sigh and raised his voice to be heard, "We concur with the motion for a private meeting Priestess. This may concern more than just the Reavers based on your opinions... and I would hope," he added with a glance at the remaining reporters, "that the populace would find themselves able to trust the elected ambassadors to come to the appropriate solution and not need to make silly judgements on every word said."

Aside from an inquisitive looking "O.o" on his visor, Ai'Den was calm and collected, aside from nearly toppling over laughing at the Recins antics, Recins were always good for stress relief when they let their primal instinct take command, those two vixen sisters really knew how to calm down a bloated, rampaging Recin, plus their unity of speech was kind of adorable, reminded him of the gemini project his people undertook some years ago. Swishing his tail from side to side, folding his arms he took a look around, spotting the Reaver security officer whome the Recin had knocked to the wall. Relaxing his arms he steppd over and knelt by his side, speaking in the Reavers native tongue, "Are you all right?". He asked in a concerned manner but keeping his ears open for the others conversation, after all if there was to be a private session he'd need to be in on it.

The crowd of Reavers watches the sight with a little amusement before they turned back to Carsona. She watches the sight with a pair of crossed arms as she watches the sight with a frown. She couldn’t help but smile as the large Recin went down for the count.

“Well then, this press conference is done, go back to your homes and tell those that you can find that nothing is wrong for the moment. Also, I’m not taking anymore appointments for the day.” As if the fun was over the entire group of the Reavers split into smaller groups speaking their native language again meaning the large main Eatery area of the Embassy where the small press conference had taken place was rather quite.

Carsona merely waved for the group of ambassadors to follow her to her office. On the way they past artificial water fall. While it was easy enough to tell that it was water, the oddity about it was it was black, which sharply contrasted that white marble it was flowing over. Behind the water art figure was a small office which was where the priestess’s office was located. One the front door the there was some multicolored pictographs. Under it Galactic common it read. "Office of Priestess Carsona Lillia"

Like much of the Reaver Embassy the Decor was stark contrasts of White and Black. Even the Furniture was black and white. Behind the desk was a very large holographic mosaic of a city in the desert. It was a very well known image as it was the only ever released image of an Imperium city to the Galaxy.

“Alright Pirrad you said you have some information for me?”

Pirrad waits until all of the ambassadors are in the room and seated. Pirrad looks to the science advisor and says briefly in Zrackli, "Remember, they're politicians, not scientists, try and keep it simple." Pirrad glances at Rick as he says that. Pirrad then looks back to the Reaver ambassador and addresses all the ambassadors in the room. "This is Doctor Zazzak Katikas, Chief overseer of the Nubian Project's Hyper-Light Collider. Please give him your attention, as he has information regarding this event."

Zazzak steps forwards. Pushing a few buttons on his aide, he brings up a diagram of a thin ring surrounding a planet. "This is the hyper-light collider. Using space warp technology, along with conventional acceleration methods, it collides beams of particles at faster than light--"

"Eh, get to the point please, Doctor." Pirrad says.

Zazzak blinks. "Oh, right." He zooms in on the hologram, highlighting numerous detector nodes. "When we simulated the unusual conditions in Reaver space, we attempted to gain further insight into what the cause might be by creating the extreme energy densities in the hyper-light collider and observe the effects on the space. The results were quite far from what we were expecting."

Zazzak pulls up a set of graphs on his holograms. In the diagram of the detector nodes, two streams of light collide and the graph shows a smoothly increasing energy level. Then the lights in the detector flutter, and the graph spikes down and up erratically. "This here," He says, gesturing to the spikes, "Is not caused by any known phenomenon. Repeated tests in all of the detectors had similar results, and it is not accounted for by known subatomic dimensions.

"To put things quite simply, this energy seems to have disappeared into thin air. This is still being experimented on, but we suspect that the energy may be being pulled into a type-3 universe parallel to our own. Some sort of event may have occurred, either on our side or theirs, which is somehow causing space between the universes to destabilize. If there is an energy difference between these points of instability, it could go a long way to explaining the enormous bursts of energy detected in Reaver space."

Zazzak shuts down his hologram, and Pirrad looks to the other ambassadors to gauge their reactions.

After taking a seat as the rest would have done and listening to Zazzak, Ford sighs, "So... Reaver space is being compromised by another dimension or are the Reavers themselves doing it on accident?"

Ford looks around at his fellow ambassadors, "I don't see this ending well... and I would like to see this fixed. I'm not going to ask all in favor, due to the seriousness of this situation. I /CAN/ say that there are two options: One, research and see the beneficial properties of this.. if there is any. Two, fix it and hope it doesn't happen again."

Ford lastly looks to Zazzak, "Isn't there a little myth floating around that states something about the -universe tearing apart- under a scenario such as this?"

Varal sat quietly, staring at Zazzak. He shifted a little and cleared his throat, "Doctor, if this energy is indeed disappearing into this mystery universe, my first question would be what kind of far reaching effect will this have on the universe in general?"

He sat up straighter, "My second would be to ask if something, say a ship, can slide through these fluxes, and third is if that's possible, what are the chances the other side will send a ship, or even a fleet through?"

"I would assume there is a possibility that the other side is doing this on purpose in order to invade our universe. Can you confirm or deny that possibility?"

Zazzak first looks to ambassador Ford. "We can't tell if the Reavers are doing this or not, we simply don't have enough information. As for possible benefits there are many, but to address Varal's question, we have no clue what the far reaching effects of this could be. For now, my recommendation is to try and put a stop to it. We are able to reproduce the effects in a lab setting, so for now we should try and stop the uncontrolled flow and study it later.

"As for tearing apart the universe, that is a pretty far flung concept. Worst case scenario I can come up with at the moment, energy bursts fill our universe until both universes either stabilize their boundaries or reach equal energy levels. This is speculation, mind you."

He looks to Varal. "We don't think matter is currently capable of sliding through these fluxes, but they are currently fairly unstable by our readings, and preliminary models show that there is a threshold at which point they may become stable enough to allow matter through. It's nowhere near that point yet, however. So no, for the time being no ships are going to come pouring through.

"As for the possibility of this being a directed attack, we have no possible way to confirm or deny this. We still don't know if this is a natural phenomenon or not. If it isn't, then this could very well be an attack. The resulted energy transfer to the other universe in our own collider experiments would have been like an anti-matter charge going off wherever they came out on the other side. However, it would make just as much sense if this was a natural phenomenon. If their universe exists at a higher energy level, then the energy transfer to our universe would be like if you poked a hole in the hull of a space ship. Your air goes rushing out to the lower density vacuum outside. Only instead of atmosphere and space ship hulls, it's basic energy levels and the boundaries between the universes themselves. "

Zazzak sits back, awaiting further questions.

Leaning up against the nearby wall Ai'Den appeared deep in thought. Tail swishing from side to side, unbeknownst to the other ambassadors his polarized visor alive with activity as formulae in his own native language, cultural and technological wisked by on his screen until finally his visor displayed a somber "-_-" in bright, glowy blue. Recollecting himself he approached the Zrackli ambassador, taking care to maintain eye contact, having no wish to appear "higher" than him, physically or status wise, he even went so far as to de-polarize his visor, revealing his twin bright emerald green eyes to the physically smaller ambassador.

"I've listened and gone over the numbers, nothing in current Altin science into subspace transition explains this but one did strike me as odd, if these anomalies were natural, then why would they form in a particularly stable sector of space? We are able to chart the integrity of the universe since well, it's natural "backdoors" are our methods of transition from world to world. As such, Reaver space is stable as far as our sensors can detect. However even with my A.I. implant I am unable to calculate fully the information you've just provided, however I wish to extend an offer, ambassador Pirrad. The Core Nexus Jupiter Brain project is nearing it's 38% of completion this week, if you require assistance, what is operational of the core can be used to better calculate the information provided by your Hyper-light collider. But the idea of a ship possibly being able to slip through deeply disturbs me, these disturbances seem vaguely familiar to subspace storms which our shields keep us safe from. Tell me, is it possible that a ship of similar shield capacity to our own, could slip through the threshold without harm?"

He asked, seriously, as anti-matter reactions only affected matter they could reach, only could destroy matter they could "impact" and as such, if a shielded vessel could make it's way through a massive disturbance such as what was happening in Reaver space, then that was all the more reason to be more than a little suspicious but also, cautios but above all... Frigthened.

Carsona looked at all the delegates in the room with a curious glance. For the moment she just listened to them speak with one another. She could understand the concern of the few allies of the Imperium wanting to protect their friends. What put her on the defensive for this was the fact that it appeared that every nation with an embassy wanted answers she didn’t have, well answers she had, just couldn't share with them yet. She held her tongue for now looking on with a small smile of satisfaction. If there was one thing the Reavers where good. It was information control...

Zazzak looks to The Altinian ambassador. "It's possible and even probable that this is an entirely different phenomenon than your subspace travel method. This isn't going from one point in our universe to another point in our universe, it's going out of our universe entirely. This would explain the discrepancy in your sensor readings, as our own show, Reaver space is increasingly unstable, and simple observation confirms this.

"That said, because this is a different phenomenon, we don't have to worry about ships coming through yet. It's not a matter of shielding, it's simply that these fluxes are too unstable to allow coherent matter through. Matter would likely break apart and be emitted as energy if a ship tried to pass through this current rift.

"But, as I mentioned earlier, models show that there may be a threshold at which matter will be able to pass through. We cannot reliably predict when or even if these fluxes will reach that point.

"As for extra computing power, The MSDT data-processing distribution network (OOC: Very much the same as the LHC @ Home project designed by CERN) is well capable of handling the current data input, but we'll take what we can. We can arrange for some nonlocal link-up modules to be sent to transmit data to your Core Nexus device.

    "Any further questions?"

Ford pinches his temples as he listened to the rest, taking in each word from the other ambassadors.

Ford glances to Car just long enough to catch her smile and then thinks, "She -IS- holding back something, farg it all! I can understand her not telling them, but not telling me... she may have been under specific orders or signed a kill-if-spoken disclosure. I have to get the President to speak to their leader about this..."

Ford looks about to the others, before looking to Zazzak and asks aloud, "I have one more... can these -rifts- have the ability engulf planets whole or did I seemingly miss the part where you explained that?"

Zazzak looks to Ambassador Ford. "If you're thinking that they're stealing worlds or the like, that doesn't seem to be the case. The 'rifts' appear to be one way only. Energy can come from the other universe into ours, and likewise the small rifts, as you call them, that we opened up with the Hyper-light collider only sent the energy one way, outwards."

Pirrad nods. "However, given the amount of energy they are putting out, if they were opened near or even in a planet, the effects could be devastating. If they did open near Imperial worlds, the Arrkric Greater Star Federation is willing to offer aid to the Imperium of Shadows, as evacuation may be the best option to prevent extreme radiation poisoning."

"So, Ambassadors. I pose to you this question. What do we do now?"

Fishing a drinking cup from a nearby table with the manipulator gripper claw on the end of his armored tail, Ai'Den proceeded to find the nearest fountain and fill the cup. Opening a small slit on his facial visor he slipped the water into his suits filtration system which filtered out dangerous purification chems and or otherwise lethal bacteria and anything elese that mit have been in it and sipped the purified water from a sippy-cup like device on the inside of his helmet, the cold water refreshing him.

"The way I see it" he started. "Discussing what to do is pointless as nobody here seems to know how and why these anomalies are popping up. However if the wind up consuming entire planets, then all I can say it's the Reavers own fault if they choose to disregard aid when it could have been had earlier. However if aid is needed then I believe other member races are better suited to aid in evacuation of Reaver worlds, Altin ships might serve the purpose better because of the spacious cargo and hangar re-loading bays and our shielding affords us enough protection to withstand the intense radiation emitted by the anomalies. No offense Pirrad" he bowed apologetically in traditional eastern altinian manner "But I do not think your ships small size interior would be all that useful".

He spoke softly, it wasn't his intention to hint at anything, however he hoped he had made the point that sitting around speculating was't going to get them anywhere, they either had answers or they didn't, there was no middle ground and the other option was to acquire information. But then again Reavers weren't exactly very forthcoming with information, even if the information wasn't entitled to them.

Varal gave a soft snort, "I think you're missing a very large point ambassador," he said looking at Ai'den, "This may not be an isolated incident, it may begin happening somewhere else. Hell it may begin happening right under our feet. You want my proposition on what needs to happen? Here it is."

He stood, placing his hands firmly on the table, making sure to make eye contact to the best of his abilities, "We gather the top scientific minds from every corner of the universe we know and have them investigate," he held up a hand to stop any protests from the Reaver Priestess, "not you're whole damn corner of the galaxy priestess, just here and there where this thing has happened. I would insist on a small security team, and before you object priestess, the Reaver's ability to gather information and very effective stealth attacks are more than enough to keep most of us from trying anything."

He sat down, "Ai'den is correct that we should not sit here and discuss possibilities for the next few years. Now is the time for action. We need to know everything about what we're dealing with and how we can stop it," he turned his gaze to Ford, "that is, of course, if a solution is not already being formulated."

Ford looks and raises a brow at Varal, "Plans... there is always a plan, good ambassador Varal. Don't count anyone out on this, for we all have a plan on one subject or another..."

Ford then looks to Zazzack, "A Hyper Collider? Would you care to elaborate on this piece of machinery?"

Zazzak perks up. "Oh, certainly. After we mastered anti-mass spectrometry about 310 years ago, we began to apply negative energy density physics it for propulsion systems and 300 years ago made our first faster than light capable vehicle. Negative energy space Warp drive technology has since been rendered obsolete by our step-through system, but it is still used for slower than light travel.

"The hyper-light collider uses an anti-mass field to create a small warp effect and allow us to collide particle beams at faster than light speed in massive detector units. These collisions tell us much about the nature of space, time, matter and energy."

Pirrad nods. "Fascinating, but besides the point right now. We need to focus on what we're going to do."

Pirrad looks to Ai'den. "You are correct, our ships cannot fit larger races. However, we could use Goliaths, Adjutants, or Pathfinder class ships to open step-through points so that ships not equipped for FTL can be used in an evacuation procedure. Contrary to Altinian subspace drives, Our faster than light systems don't encounter turbulence as they pass through. Step-Through is as the name implies, like stepping through a doorway from one point in space to another. So no heavy shielding is required to protect against fluctuations or storms. Even a person in an emergency pressure suit could use it safely.

"This way, even vessels only equipped for low orbit flight could be used to help in the evacuation." He looks to Carsona. "That is, of course, if the Imperium is willing to accept aid?"

Zazzak perks up again. "With your permission, I'd also like to come into Imperium space in a Pathfinder with a sensor suite my team tossed together to probe this anomaly further."

The old saying of a between a rock and a hard place didn’t describe where Carsona was right now. It was unsettling, she knew there was a good chance the Imperium would outright refuse but it was not something she could merely overlook, or brush away. She got up to move to the nearest wall though she didn't stop when she reached the wall but instead went through the wall. A moment later she walked back through the false wall with a small logic crystal placing it on the table. “That will allow you to enter to Imperium space without being labeled as trespasser.” She said for the moment took a seat merely covering her face with her hands. “You will have 30 hours before that transponder code expires, after that time frame you will be labeled as trespassers in Imperium space and…well we all remember how first contact has gone.” All first contact with the Reavers had been overwhelmingly negative on all fronts, ranging from attacks to boarding, in some cases psychoindoctrination the Rumors just went on. It was resoundingly agreed upon that entering Imperium space uninvited was not in the best interest of anyone.

“I cannot guarantee the willingness of my government to corporate at the same time I cannot guarantee that I will be alive three days from now, but it doesn’t matter go find out what is happening. I’ll know what is going on when you do.” Though to her she was more worried about what was going to happen when they arrived. She figured this was the least invasive way of getting thing done, and the one that was the least physically wrong to her. “On the crystal is a map of Imperium population centers. Zendacar is the world that you must to go to first, If you want even a chance of success in this mission.” At this she was visibly disturbed, as if what she was doing went against everything her mind was telling her to do. “I must go.” She got up very quickly and began to stride out of the room in a soundless manor that very few non Reavers could pull off. She stopped at the door. "Please understand this, even if your intension are noble..." She stopped is as if she reconsidered what she was going to say and whispered a silent prayer as she walked out the door.

Ford listens to her and simply gapes... in other words he is speechless.

Ford blinks quite a bit, "Uh..." He watches her leave before standing and bowing to them.

"If you all would excuse me... I have to take care of some things..." He heads for the doors, and quietly says, "Specifically my wife." Ford then exits the room.

The entire AGSF entourage had a sudden look of shock on their faces. The access codes for Imperium space had been one thing, but a map of their home world? It was rare enough to get even a scrap of information out of Reavers. The Zrackli entourage begins to twitter amongst themselves in the melodic Zrackli language.

“<Something must be up,>“ Pirrad begins, “<Getting the scraps of information we already did was a rare occurrence, but a map of their home world? Things must be worse than I thought.>”

“<I concur,>“ The admiral says, “<We’re almost never able to get even a scrap of information out of them.>“

“<Regardless, We must move to assist them immediately. Zazzak, take your Pathfinder and try and figure out what’s going on. Admiral, You mobilize what you need so that we can assist the others so they can use their slower than light ships to aide in the operation.>“

“<Got it,>“ Zazzak says. “<We’ll be on site in half an hour.>“ He flutters off and out of the embassy, to his personal transport shuttle, which proceeds to take off and step-out of the system.

Meanwhile, Pirrad and the Admiral look to the rest. “We will be able to deploy some of our larger ships so that ships from your nations that are not designed for faster than light travel are also able to help in the rescue operation. If you would be so inclined, please forward instructions for entering your systems and coordinates around your planets where you can get as many ships as you can in position for step-through to The admiral’s Aide.”

The Admiral now speaks. “Once you have sent me this information, I’ll forward it to command and we will be able to have ships able to open step-through to Zendacar around your worlds within the hour.”

Pirrad nods. “The citizens of the Imperium of Shadows are counting on all of you. If we do not act, many innocent lives will be lost. Let’s not let them down.”
