Re: Spartan
Nice, as always :p
I love the glowing orange effect, and the symbols on the side.
Oh, just a language note by the way; "over rated firepower" would mean that it's not as good firepower as they say it is. Perhaps just "renowned for it's respectful mobility and firepower fit for a destroyer"

Re: Spartan
That is pretty cool Legacy. Does the prism effect propogate across the hull as it's flying?

It only does when its weaponry systems was powering up.

Once more you design the most beautiful vessels. It's a wonder somebody hasn't hired you to do the art for a sci-fi space strategy game! Lord knows some people do need help with imaginative creations but still, nicely done, although why an Ion Cannon? A single big gun doesn't seem all that useful since it has to be pointed directly at the enemy to work.

That's the point. It's one of the ship weaknesses I intended for it to have. The Archimedes Sun was one of the Trinity most powerful energy based ship main weapon system. It can fire more rapid than any others Ion Connon with a greater range and almost twice more powerfull. So naturally it weaknesses needed to be even greater. . . so here's the downside. . . But it also required alot more energy to fire as well so technically this ship have to lower all there shields and all it's auxiliary, defensive and primary drive systems remains offline when beginning firing sequences.
Although the price for each shot is high but it's also very rewarding as well. This weapon can tear any know ship hulls and shields in matter of seconds like hot knife through butter. The Spartan is the greatest fear for any heavier ship classes especially the slow moving battlecruisers and dreadnoughts but a sitting duck for a lighter/faster crafts mostly a favorite target for those mid-ranged bombers.

A fire support vessel, then.
It sits at the back of the theater of war, protected by escort ships, firing its spectacularly powerful weapon at enemy targets from a distance. As a stand-alone ship, it would be almost useless in a space battle. It would be very easy to defeat and destroy, due to its strategic weaknesses of needing to lower its force field before firing.
Either way, heh, quite the excellent picture of a war ship, Legacy.

Thanks
True Spartan would be great firing support vessel if belong to others races. But being Kaisarion you have to doing it reckless or don't do it at all. So their tactics was to use it's extreme mobility and it's highly accurate jump-drive to performing a flank to their enemies flagship or others large high-value ships. Although it success rate are high but its also very costly because the ship will not have enough energy to jump out after the firing so yes it was kindda a suicide mission but that actually what most Kaisarion would dream to do. . .
