Like... Wow?!
I FINALLY got to listen to the first Podcast episode today!
Having downloaded it not long after its release, I had been having a devil of a time getting it to transfer to my iPod. Well, today, while listening to my music while driving down the road... there it was! I don't know exacly how I had gotten it to transfer, but.... it had somehow managed to find itself on my iPod!
And guys, I have got to say, that is was a stunning first episode! For a group of amateurs and it being their very first show, besides...?
Like, wow, guys! It was an absolutely outstanding first show!
Slice, you have a great voice. And heh, Slate, good lord, if only I could talk that fast!!! Your little news bit was great!
And you, Odin... fabulous! You have a great sounding voice, too. However, we need to talk about how my name is pronounced...
It's "kay-nann" you silly wuff - the first syllable pronounced with a long "A', the second a short one. Be sure to get it right next episode, got it?
Got it?!? Good! And I do NOT whinny like a pony, either!

Great show, guys. You have this old horse greatly looking forward to the next installment - which I hope is going to be very soon. Xeno-Anthro-Podcast was the best hour and twenty odd minutes that I spent over many a afternoon!

While I'm sure the others have their own thing to say, I'm happy we didn't disappoint!

Re: Like... Wow?!
Wow, thank you very much Rick! Daryn had told me you'd liked it, but it's still great to hear it from the Hoss himself
Slice, you have a great voice
That's nice to hear, because to be honest I actually think my voice is kinda crappy. I get told otherwise a fair bit, but the reason I put on so many voices is because I don't like my normal speaking one. It's probably about time I snap out of that mind-set I guess XD
And yeah, I'm hoping the next instalment will be about March time. I'd have started work on it already, but Dec-Jan turned out to be a work-heavy period as far as Uni goes. After exams and essays and such are over though, I can go full pelt into it and this time I'm looking at about a 1-2 month turn around. Hopefully the fact that the first one is out can inspire a couple more people to hop on board (Daryn couldn't last time, but said he'd love to be in the next one, which is great) and if we get a schedule sorted in the next couple weeks it might be done quite soon.
That said, I'd heard you had a couple suggestions? If you do I'd really love to hear them, because above everything else I want to make a podcast that everyone will enjoy, and what I think will be good isn't necessarily everyone's cup of tea.
Thanks again, anyhow, means a lot

Re: Like... Wow?!
Hey, yeah - I do have a couple, if you don't mind listening to them.
For first, until the Podcast becomes more well known, I think it ought to be kept more in-house. When you do interviews and the like, you ought to do them with forum members, instead of people from outside the forums - like with that musician? I'd never heard of him before our Podcast, so I had no idea who he was. And I was like, what is he doing being featured in a Scififur.net Podcast? He is a member of FurAffinity, isn't he? I don't think I've ever seen his name around the forums.
Have I?
The bit with Odin was spot on. Here we have a member of the forums who is already well known by forum members, and everybody got to hear what Odin sounds like. To me, that was exciting.
I think for the next big interview, it should be Daryn who is interviewed. What drove him to want to start Scififur.net? What does he do behind the scenes for the forums? Where does all of his technical genius come from? It is stuff like this that members will be interested to hear.
Another person who could be interviewed, could be Nelle. Here's the guy who has pretty much single handedly put together most all of the forum's roleplay ideas. People on the forums would probably be delighted to know what he thinks, and what drives him to create all of the worlds he does.
One other possible suggestion, is like doing one segment per month, each segment getting a treatment twice per year. Then, at the end of the year, you put together a year-end program that features all of the month's segments, with maybe a special bit thrown in, commemorating another year at Scififur.net or something.
I think doing it this way will make a lot less work for all involved, and give people time to make better quality segments. The team gets to focus all of their energies on one 20-minute segment once per month, instead of having to come up with a multi-segmented program three or four times a year. It will add up to better programming, and less work for those who are working on the show.
Heh, either way, just thoughts from my end.
Great show, guys. I hope to hear lots more from you all in the future. If this first show was any indicator, I think there is a lot more to look forward to from you guys in the months and years to come!

*blushes from the horse's praise* Well thank you. I was a little worried about how my audio quality would be, but I was quite impressed at how Slice put it all together ^_^ As for your name, well, what can I say, there's a town of Canaan, and that's how I've been taught how to pronounce it, but you got it sir *salutes*
*acks and whines from the smacks but sticks his tongue out at the silly hoss* Lies! I have written evidence that says otherwise! You just got to know the right spots to get you going XD.

Once again, thank you, and I'm glad you take so much pleasure from hearing my voice. I mean, I'm doing the audio thing for a number of projects on the side, so to hear that does bolster my spirits of auditioning for things and pressing on, as well as continue with my segments. Given I haven't had the time or energy to sit down and do full on written segments like I did before, I still feel this is the best way for me to contribute content for the forum.
Still, thank you again for the compliments, and I have to say congratulations again to every one else on the XAP staff for putting this thing together. It was quite a project to accomplish, but we did it in the end! And with this new structuring of episodes for the new year, I think we might get better at it! Here's to a new season !
<..< If you want to call a single pilot episode a season before hand, actually X3
