Finding an original ship design is really hard. All geomagnetic shapes are out due to the borg, so yeah. But I think I found one, inspired by a basic household object:

Heh. I'm sorry, but I sort of laughed when I saw this. The model's great, the thing is I personally have been playing fake spaceships with my pens since the 2nd grade. I didn't think I'd ever see a real spaceship design based off of it. It looks great though. X3

Yesh it's SketchUp xD

And it's actually based from one of them eraser-mechanicle-pencil thing... You know, all it is is a long eraser.

I still need to add more detailing to this though.

i wonder if we all did that or just some of us. i remember doing that at least as early as the fifth grade, probably a lot younger, and this was (1950s) long before most people had computers or even could imagine why they would want them.

My childhood obsession was taking apart stuff (cassette / CD / minidisc players, radios, telephones, old TVs, dead computers.. any electronic device i could get my paws on was fair game) and assembling w3ird robotish toy constructs out of the pieces.

But yeah orbital pencil sharpener space stations &c were certainly a thing for me, too.
