XAP Emblems

Earlier today, Daryn and I were discussing a rotator that featured icons for XAP. Think this was probably a good idea, and because it would be likely to attract more attention to the program, I have made up a mock-up icon.



(While it may not show up properly in the attachment thingie, there is a black background behind where it says "Uplink Tau", with a subtle yellow sunburst directly center and underneath - showing as if to be rising from behind the colored section.)

I have this saved also, as a psd (Photoshop file), so any of the graphics can be easily changed.

I made it easily changeable this way, because Daryn and I were talking about having a different color scheme for each of the Podcast's segments. I was thinking blue for the "Interview" feature, red for Odin's comic section, gold for drama, and so on. Any color for the sections can be picked, of course. These were just the first ones that popped into my head.

What do you guys think? If you like the idea, I can very easily roll with this graphic. I can also change the graphic to something else entirely.

Let me know. I'll try to pump them out as soon as I can. And of course, as work allows.

We're dropping all the Uplink names. It's just confusing and arbitrary, so we're going to go with names that make more sense. But I think that color coded icons would be a good idea. I'm going to poke around and look for a good slider to display it.

That is easily done. Like I say, I have the original in psd format, all of its layers completely editable. I can put anything in place of the show's titles that you guys like.

Awesome! Really nice idea, guys, and that looks great for a mock-up!
As Daryn said, the Uplink names are being dropped, so we'll probably need to come together and come up with some better names soon (Odin put out the call in his last show, but I'm not sure he'll get much of a response as we lack a particularly large audience at the moment) but other than that everything about this idea seems good so far. I like the colour scheme idea

THey'd be part of a rotator that would appear above the recent posts box. That way it would be front and center on the forums.
