Mitchell cleared his throat as Cierra addressed him, and, summing up his courage, looked her straight in the eyes.

"It's all well and good to ask whether whatever has been happening has stopped 'half way through', but you're making a wild leap of judgement there. Namely, you assume that whatever it is has stopped now that you're awake." He stared around to let that thought sink in "For all we know, this... transformation process could still be happening to you. Perhaps affecting the outer-body is the first stage. Until we all undergo thorough mental examinations, there's no saying whether or not our brain functions have been affected as well. It's possible that those of you with more... radically altered appearances are also becoming more bestial in mental capacity"
Here he again locked eyes with Cierra.
"How do we know that one of us won't get ripped apart due to causing some obscure offence based on territory or mating rituals? Most animals make up for their less complex language capabilities by taking in massive reams of information based on body stance and tone, where someone is looking or how quickly they are moving. You could all be receiving these signals without even knowing it. Who knows, perhaps it's only a matter of time before prey and predator instincts kick in. I suggest we all eat our fill of this pre-packaged stuff right now, because animals are much more passive when they aren't hungry, and if the worst is indeed happening, that will give us more time to find a solution for this problem"

I felt my tail swish with slight aggravation at the assertions made by Mitchell. "From the body language I can see here, we're all confused. That doesn't mean we're not exactly unhappy with these changes. I know I'm personally uncomfortable having this," I grab my tail and pull it around for emphasis, "but I still think this is possibly some sort of reversible phenomena. What you said COULD be true, but then we have no way of knowing that." I paused to try and take another bite out of the ration patty. "Also I'm no biologist, but I did listen to the orientation course. Those machines have some sort of medical system that repairs damage. Maybe we could use that to our benefit?"

Mark and the others make their way over to the mess to have some of the rations too. Mark walks on two legs, his hips still seeming mostly bipedal, though he trips a lot of times on the way. The each take their rations and eat them quietly, not wanting to talk. Well, except for the Blue Jay fellow. He's got a real motor mouth on him and he starts talking incessantly about every little thing. You can gather that he used to be a ventriloquist, given how he can still talk well despite lacking lips.

Mark tries to open his ration pack, but fails due to his lack of fingers and thumbs. In the end he just holds it down to the table and roughly tears it open with his teeth. He sighs and looks down to his paws again. "I'm going to have to be doing a lot of things with my teeth now..."

After eating, the other people start to talk a bit too. Mostly small talk, which was all they could manage given their conditions. The Blue Jay fellow, who lets out that his name is Douglas, begins to chat with (or just at) some of the other transformees. Only the platypus lady remains silent, leading to this exchange. "So why won't you talk? Shy? Speak another language? Vow of silence?" She shoots him a look. "Vow of silence, definitely." he nods. She types on one of the computers, "I can't talk with a bill, dumbass."

Mark eventually logs in and begins trying to get the network running again, though after a bit he exclaims in frustration. "Argh, These stupid paws can't type!" He lays his head on the table and puts his paws on top of his head, growling in frustration.

Meanwhile, for KT and Dusty who were headed outside, they'd find that outside of the hibernation bay was a corridor with more hibernation bays. A lot more. If they go down either direction, they'd eventually run into an intersection with a security station and Supply room, as well as a cross corridor with elevators and stairs. If they went down the corridors, they'd see that the pattern seems to repeat itself numerous times.

The security station would unlock for KT, who was registered as a security guard. Inside was a dust covered control panel and some storage crates with security guard supplies, namely sidearms, power packs for them, earplugs, and some durable clothing. The supplies would unlock for Dusty, inside were all kinds of things, tools, welding and cutting kits, space suits, emergency medical supplies, etc.

Sean goes over to the computer terminal to see if he can be of assistance. "Hey," he says in greeting, "These still work." he shows his wing/hands, "Why don't I sit down and you can tell me what to type in. It's not ideal, I know, but it's what we've got to deal with for now I suppose."

When Dusty was ready, KT would head with him out of the hibernation bay and down the corridor towards the security station. Every door he passed, he thought about all the people that would be inside. Did anyone else wake up? Did anyone else go through such changes? Even the other members of his security unit were on his mind as he walked. His mind was adamant, holding the belief that meeting up with other security members was just a matter of time, and the hope that if they to had changed, they would be level headed... and if they hadn't, they wouldn't do anything rash to him.

Upon reaching the cross section KT opened the door to the security room.
"Check the supply room," he said turning to Dusty, "I'll help you in a minute after I check a few things." With that, he entered the security room. First thing was first, he would change out of his jumpsuit and into a proper uniform. The first part, an undershirt, was extremely stretchy yet form fitting. Next was a black short sleeve button up shirt that had two bright blue stripes that circled his torso and another two bright blue stripes that went around his upper arm. He then put on a pair of black pants, although he had to rip a large hole in the back in order to accommodate his tail. Unlike his jumpsuit that seemed to have been torn when his tail grew in stasis. KT tucked his shirts into the pants, then used a matching black belt to keep them in place. The next thing he put on was a black jacket with similar designs as the shirt, only it had pockets and a zipper on the front. The last thing he put on was a bright blue utility belt which holstered his sidearm and a couple power packs for it. He also took a pair of earplugs. There was plenty more it could carry, but this station seemed to lack other items that he would find useful. He neglected socks and boots, as they would no longer fit his reptilian feet. Same thing went for some gloves he would have otherwise put on.

Now that that was taken care of, he went to the control panel, wiped the dust off of the screen and began to long on. Luckily, he was a bit more used to typing with only three fingers so he was able to type faster than earlier. He proceeded to make simple inquiries, when the last log-in time was, how many beings are in stasis, how many human life signs, are any other security stations currently active. Obviously, there were more questions, but none of which were statistical like his current inquires. Once he had his answers, he would meet back up with Dusty.

Before the conversation could boil over any more I noticed that the reptilian security guard was ready to go. Nodding I followed him down the hallway. Vague memories of how large the Cryo facility was danced in my head. Each of the doors we passed another potential group of survivors like us. But then, why hadn't they woken up like us? Were the trapped? Before I could ask KT what he thought we had reached a four way junction with a supply room and a security booth.

"Check the supply room," KT said softly, "I'll help you in a minute after I check a few things."

"Right, see you in a minute," I muttered before moving towards the sealed door. With a soft hiss the ancient air inside was released into the corridor. LED light strips flickered on overhead revealing a treasure trove of supplies. Arranged in crates around me was everything used to make sure this section of the ship was till running. Instantly I turned around to find an electric cargo sled parked in the corner. Exactly where I had left it. Wait, I can remember that.... but not why I was in cryo. The though caused a moment of ponder before I gave up and set about gathering what we needed.

First things first I popped a large crate open to reveal a portable hydraulic pump for power tools. With a grunt I hoisted it out of the crate and onto the waiting sled. I then opened the crate next to it to find a set of emergency power tools. I quickly grabbed a combo spreader/cutter and a smaller sized hydraulic ram and set them on top the generator.

The next crate had a case of wrist lights, small LED lights with a life-time power supply attached to wrist sized straps. Figuring they would come in handy I grabbed it and threw it on the cart with the rest of my loot. I continued this pattern until I had accumulated a nice collection of tools and supplies that meant we would be in good shape should we need to make repairs. I briefly thought about trying to bring one of the space suits but decided against it. I could always come back if I needed it.

Tambria suddenly snapped out of her panicked stupor with a jolt as the shower next to her kicked on. Her pupils dilated to pinpoints as she looked around, realizing she was still stuck in this crazy dream with the hot shower water pouring down on her head. The water on her head started to relax her some, oddly enough feeling great against her fur covered body, almost like a dog getting scratched behind the ears would enjoy the sensation. She leaned her head back against the wall behind her, letting the water run across her new furry muzzle, her soft grey eyes closing to the soft sensation.*

She snapped to again, her head snapping around as she surveyed her surroundings to find her self in the shower.Fuck she'd dozed off. How long she'd been out, she couldn't tell, but she was starting to hear voices from the stasis room, and it sounded like the shower next to her had stopped running, just a drip- drip of the nozzle. She looked down at her own hands and found them still the water soaked paws they'd been before she'd dozed off.

She was now, for all intent and purpose, a wolf. Not a feral type. She still stood on two legs, had her long white hair, hell, even her braids were still there. She reached up and felt her new ears... It was a weird thing to find them sitting on top of her head instead of next to it. She looked down suddenly at her chest as a horrible thought crossed her mind, relaxing as she found her 'assets' still large and bouncing there.

Yup. She was still a woman. Whatever had happened, hadn't taken that from from her. She let out a soft chuckle, her voice sounding a bit foreign to her as her vocal cords had been changed up some from whatever had happened. All in all, this 'new body' didn't actually feel that bad, hell it actually felt pretty good now that she thought about it...

She stood up and stretched, a feel good grin slipping across her face as her muscles flexed and her tail flipping around behind her reflecting her new outlook on herself.*

She doubled over suddenly, holding her gut as it let out a horrendous growl. Food. She needed food. Further self inspection could wait.*

She slipped from the shower and quickly ducked back in as the cooler air outside the shower hit her still drenched fur, she slapped the control for the water and it shut off immediately, assuming the 'drip drip' the other shower had and looked around with a silly grin as a new thought crossed her mind.

She twisted to the side, and shook. Spraying water everywhere. She started laughing as she came to a stop, feeling utterly silly with herself no as her fur stood fluffed out now. She unwrapped her braids from around her muzzle with a chuckle and stepped from the shower, the cooler air feeling less harsh now than before. Perhaps she should worry about getting her clothes before she got food, she gone this long, another three or four minutes wouldn't kill her.*

As she made her way, quite carefully having been unable to find a towel in the showers, she noted it seemed most of the voices that had been hanging out in the cubicle area had made their way elsewhere, probably to the mess hall if they were in the kind of state she was in. Thankful for the minutes to herself, she popped her locker open with a few guesses at the many sets of lock sets she used for her various locks and wondered why she'd used the one for one of her old jet bike when it popped open. She pulled out the pile of clothes and tossed them on her cryogenic bed, checking scrubbing was there, satisfied it all was, she grabbed a towel and finished drying her fur as well as she could, rubbing and patting it as best she could before she pulled her, now noticeably smaller across her chest and riding up higher her midsection. She started to pull on her jeans and found them, as like the others, no longer fit properly and she made the adjustments by cutting them off a little longer than would be considered 'daisy dukes' and made a slit in the back with her rather sharp claws for where her tail wold sit with enough room above for the belt to sit comfortably. She tossed the jacket on, leaving it unzipped and grabbed her cabbie hat, posing in front of the the glass of the cryogenic tank in her gear. "Not bad..." she said to herself, turning and posing again, rather vain for a starship mechanic "not bad at all" she tipped her cabbie cap with a grin and turned out of the cubicle, following some kind of memory and managing to actually find the chow hall, noting the many new 'hybrids' in the hall, but made an immediate beeline for the food vending, grabbing her chow and heading for the nearest table and tearing into the container, not realizing just how hungry she had actually been until she looked down at an empty tray and found her long tongue picking pieces of whatever had been sitting in front of her from between her teeth. She looked up, wanting more, but knowing it'd make her sick, pushed the tray away from her, and rocked her chair back on it's back legs and finally took a look around the room, and at her fellow test tube companions.*

Everyone seemed to have been effected to some degree or another, none had been let untouched, there was even the one that was practically human, *only with rabbit fur. If not for the fact that she'd already eaten, she probably would've found the thought of rabbit rather appealing at the moment. Her eyes fell on the glowing one the most though...what the hell kind of test was this? It had to be a test after all, she must've had a rough night, hit the pub and signed up for some crazy test. She couldn't think of any other explanations...she was known to do some rather crazy things when she was hosed...but, what in the hell could they have been testing that would require or need to make someone a glowing blue wolf like creature?!*

She decided to leave them to their conversation for the time being and headed for a computer terminal, she may have been a mechanic, but she could still find her way around a computer...mostly anyway, maybe she could at least find out what she'd signed that had gotten her here she thought as her claw tips flew across the keyboard with practiced ease of having had long nails in one of her previous jobs.

“Oh please my ass is glowing. Who doesn’t want this?” She chuckled, which sounded really odd to her, ok it was just fucking creepy it was a cross between a growl and a yelp, so much so that she stopped. “That was very odd….” She said while looking around for a moment before looking at the doc. She took another bite of her “Food” “Ok this stuff is royally shitty…” She said as she continued to eat, she currently didn’t have a choice in the matter in regards to flavor. “In any case doc you can’t say much though you might have escaped the brunt of this little transformation extravaganza or whatever you want to call this little event we are stuck in this for the time being.” She said taking a more dominate tone commanding tone. She ripped open another one with her teeth because it was the fastest way she could do it, once again she was able to do it without disturbing the contents.

After going through about three packages she would go over the computer terminal before remembering. “Wait I’m just a pilot I don’t think I would have an account on this station. Though that might mean my shuttle is still in the bay…” She thought out loud before doing a search for the Astral Child. While she didn’t remember ever being on the station she did remember approaching the station and that coming aboard would require her to register the vessel with port officials.

Cierra's search would find that information on the shuttle bays was inaccessible, for now. Network issues was the reason the computer reported. However, with Sean's help, Mark was working on getting that back online.

KT would find that it had been over 2000 years since the last login to this security station. The logs showed that there were thousands of beings in stasis in this section. Throughout the entire ship, there were hundreds of thousands of stasis pods listed. As for human life signs, access was limited here. With KT's lack of extensive training in hibernation fields, it would be impossible for him to tell from here what signs were human and what signs weren't. Even then, with the incredibly low readings that resulted from hibernation, abnormal readings were incredibly hard to distinguish from normal ones, unless you were a computer. Sadly, KT does not have permissions to access the more advanced monitoring computers. Only Hibernation technicians and medical staff had permission for that. KT does have access to some of the security camera networks, if he wishes to investigate those further.

The cart in the storage area holds all the weight Dusty puts on it, the ravages of time not appearing to have done much to it. And all the hippies had been complaining that the plastic in the wheels would take 10,000 years to decompose.

Back in the hibernation bay, there was a button in the mess that could be used to call additional rations if the inhabitants were still hungry.

((I'm not quite sure why this didn't make it very far. It seemed pretty popular.))

"Chirst I think I overloaded it," I muttered while attempting to pull the cart out of the closet. This thing had a battery life of months and its completely dead, I wondered as I struggled against the dead weight. Just how long were we out? With a grunt and the horrible sound of metal rubbing against metal I managed to break what ever resistance had locked up the wheels and free them to turn. Well I probably wrecked the motors, but no time for it to charge. With another effort I managed to pull the cart out into the hallway. "Hey KT! I could really use a hand with this stuff!" I hollered over my shoulder to the security station as I started to pull the cart back the way we came.

Satisfied with the answers he got from the computer, he could hear Dusty's call for assistance. "Hmm, I guess I'll continue my investigation later." he mumbled to himself. KT made a quick jaunt out of the security station after logging out of the terminal to Dusty's location.

He gave a slight nod greeting him, and started to help pull the cart. "What do you have on this thing, Uranium bars?" he grunted, commenting on how uneasy the cart seemed to pull.

"A couple hundred pounds of hydraulic fluid and tools," I responded as moved around the cart to push while KT pulled. The sensation of my tail brushing the wall caused me to start slightly before realizing I still had an extra appendage.Quickly brushing the sensation aside I set to pushing the cart down the hall. "I figured, with the station on pretty much lock down, we might have to get creative with the doors. And I'm apparently certified with this stuff." I didn't mention the real problem of trying to manually open an airlock, hopefully it wouldn't come to that.

The work with the formerly human network engineer is slow going for Sean. It's not every day that he has to sit there and type in commands he barely understands. Slowly though, things do start to happen, he's relatively sure that some of the systems are starting to come back up, but only the person he's typing for would know that for sure. He looks around to the others still there in the stasis bay. "I'm not sure, but I think we're making progress here?"

"Warning! Warning! Critical system failure. Evacuating hibernation pods. Warning! Warning! Critical system failure..."

Sirens. I slowly opened my eyes as the stims began to kick in. Emergency? Likely. Thoughts began racing back to me, more fragmented and spaced than usual, as I tried to survey my surroundings. Tube. Stasis tube? My container began to shift backward, confirming my suspicions. A loud siren blares as the tube wrenches to a stop, about 30 degrees from its destination angle. System glitch. Should correct itself. My heart began racing as the pod hissed from pressure release, but did not open. A slight thumping could be heard from outside my own tube; the hollow sound of something beating against glass. I placed a hand on the door of my pod and pushed. It refused to give way and I noticed I was feeling cramped. Small pod. No? I examined my own body and noticed thick, purple fur coating my body, cloth scraps that would have been a stasis jumpsuit littering the ground. Big me. Heart racing? Fear? No... I gave a brief pause as my last assumption became more and more accurate. Stims! System isn't regulating stims! The pounding outside my enclosure became more frequent and erratic. Muffled screams could be heard through the glass. Out. NOW!

My own frantic attacks on my stasis pod added to the clamor of the others, desperation beginning to take hold as the glass proved immune to my assault. Think. Glass unbreakable. Pressure released. Pod should open. Latched? I hoped so. I crammed myself into a fetal position and began pushing where I guessed the door would be at it's weakest. My efforts were rewarded with back pain and sore muscles, then a small crack as a weak metal piece gave way. I leaped upward, using what little strength I had to fling myself out of the pod and away from the lethal stimulants. The others had stopped pounding on their own containers and only the blare of the warning sirens remained. Alive. Not them though. Safety protocols should have disabled stims. Why not? I lay there on the floor of a cryo room, letting my heart slow down, relaxing to try to counteract the stimulant overdose I had just received.

    What now? Think. Must think...

Between grunts and straining effort I was also attempting to come to grips with my new body. My ears seemed to twitch on their own, a fact I didn't particularly enjoy, it just felt alien. On the plus side my vision seemed to have been repaired some how, though colors seemed a bit more muted then they should be, and sometimes people just didn't smell very good. "Alright lets stop a second. This thing is heavy," I gasp as I lean against the wall. As I stood there taking a breath I noticed a faint sound, a series of sounds oscillating between high and low notes, an alarm. "KT do you hear that?" I asked as my ears began to swivel towards the sound subconsciously, "it sounds like an alarm."

((OOC: Lol speaking from experience from today, as I had to pull a two 600+ lbs pallets of empty glass bottles for a distance of about 100 yards, about 1/3 of which was up a slight incline.))

IC: KT took a several heavy breaths before breathing normally once the cart came to a stop. The muscles in his upper legs felt odd, for lack of better words, the sensation was as though they were light. However, this feeling only lasted about 15 seconds (give or take a few).

"Give me a moment." he said in response. After a couple seconds of silence, he spoke again. "Vaguely, but yeah I definitely could here something. Man, you got some good ears." He commented smiling. He un-shouldered his sonic pacification rifle. "Let's go find the source, though, I'll let you lead the way since you seem to be able to hear it better." KT looked over at the cart. "Besides, I doubt this is gonna go anywhere." He gave it a slight kick with the side of his foot as he finished.

"Hopefully we won't need that stuff," I respond as I lean my heads towards the barely audible sound. "Sounds like its coming from one of the other cryo sections." Abandoning the stubborn cart I began to slowly walk down the hallway, trying not to lose the sound in my own footsteps. When we reached the intersection by the supply room and security office I stopped. The sound had become louder, but it was hard to make out a direction. Before I could turn to ask KT if he had any ideas, an acrid odor began to sweep down the hallway. Smells like plastic burning, I thought as I tried to breath through my mouth instead of my nose.

"I think we've got a fire, KT. I bet you that's where the alarm is," I gasp, my voice distorted from talking while not using my nose. With a gesture I begin down the hallway where the smell is the strongest.

"Actually, I do have an idea. I'll go into the security office and see which nearby room the alarm is coming from. If the door won't open I should be able to do an override. If not, well, we have those tools." He said as he followed Dusty. "I might also be able to access the fire controls, though I can't remember if if security had access to it..."

Well, that got her nowhere fast...not very fast at all actually, it'd taken the better part of an hour before she had even managed to get logged in. THEN, it took her another good while before she gave up being able to find anything regarding her change. She gave an annoyed huff as she logged out, she had been sure this had to be some kind of medical experiment, but there was nothing to indicate that. what the hell had happened then?

She turned and her ears twitched, an odd sensation to say the least, but it did the job and had her attention. despite the...avian? that was what they called birds...right? she didn't remember her biology classes very well. fuck, she barely remembered school....it felt like it'd been ages since she'd seen a classroom...though granted, even then she barely saw it for how often she'd fallen asleep in class. she shook her head as she got sidetracked, and listened to the noise. an alarm? the hell was going on in this place? she ducked out into the hallway, her ears twitching both ways as she tried to figure out the direction it was coming from. maybe the nature of the alarm could tell her something about what the fuck was going on in this place. she slipped out into the hallway and headed down the corridor, still following the alarm, and trying her best to ignore the sound of her nails clicking constantly on the metal floor.
