Description: around the time when computers were first being introduced, there was a galactic alignment. This alignment pelted the planet with an unexplainable source of energy. This evolved humankind, giving some of them strange powers. Later it would be found out that these powers were caused by an advancing of the brain that had occurred during this alignment. These powers influenced the development of machines during the computer age, causing an evolution of technology at a rate that was far superior to our own. The energy didn't just change people's brains, it also changed them. Every person on the planet became half animal, and it changed their perception of history. To them, humans had been extinct for a thousand years. Every history book and memory was changed accordingly. Only a few ever remembered what it was like before. They were regarded as either crazy or telling stories. It also gave rise to the new religion of the Soulwhispers. Who used the energy they received to their full advantage, quickly becoming the dominant religion.

((The alignment happened in the 1973, so unless your character is old, they probably don't. Though, they might have heard stories. The reason for the seventies, that's when personal computers were starting to be in the works. For now, none of the characters, as a whole or group, have any particular motive. I do plan on having a whole 'discover the truth' thing in the works, but that's after most of the characters have been established. I'm getting my sheet out of the way now. I'm also explaining the authority of the Soulwhisper. And thanks, SliceOfDog, I figured I'd start one to try to bring a few more people to the rp section. I also seem to have no life XP...))

Appearance: She looks a lot like a black cat, except for a few details. Her muzzle is extended slightly farther, her ears are a bit bigger, her bottom paws are like a wolf's and the fur on her tail is fairly long. She has a white moon shaped crest just below her neck, and she grows her hair into a long braid. When she received the title of SoulHealer, the others, as per tradition, pooled their energy to give her sleek raven wings.

Personality: Curious, and generally cheery.


Abilities: Being a SoulHealer, her energy is used mostly for healing. However, anything that can heal has the potential to hurt. SoulHealers are versed in both, though their abilities are usually used to heal. Rarely do they ever use this power to cause harm, and very few are sure that SoulHealers are even capable of harming someone.


Clothes: She generally wears the sky blue robes of her rank, but during class she's more practical, wearing a long blue skirt or jeans and a white blouse.


Biographical information: Janet was born on the 26th of June in 1991. Her father is a silver wolf, and her mother is a black cat. Both are members of the Soulwhisper religion. They taught their daughter moral values and she was sheltered as a child. When she was eight years old, she had a dream that everyone in the world was human. Her parents took her to see a SoulHealer and it was recommended that Janet stay with him for a year. While living with him, Janet learned about the art of healing and showed a natural talent. This led her down the path to becoming a SoulHealer herself. Her parents wholeheartedly approved. At 19 she is the youngest Full-fledged SoulHealer to date. Though, it has been decided that she be a student, just like the rest of the kids her age.


HISTORY OF THE SOULWHISPER:

The Soulwhisper religion was founded in 1974, a year after the alignment. It gained a massive following because it made sense of the new energy that had been unleashed on earth. Today there are three known ranks of the Soulwhispers. They are called ranks, even though they share equal power. Each Rank has a Hierarchy, starting with the Head, going down to the Leaders, then the Parents. The followers are known as children. The youngest Child to ever become a Parent, is Janet. She is still uncomfortable with people calling her Mother, and anyone that knows her calls her Janet. ((Yes some of this hierarchy is a ripoff of Catholicism. I don't mean to offend anyone, and if someone has a serious problem, I will change it. Your character is not obligated to be a part of the Soulwhisper religion. Your character can follow any religion they want, Soulwhisper is just mainstream.))

SOULHEALERS: The SoulHealers use their ability to heal the sick, both mentally and physically. They usually wear sky blue robes, and have raven wings. The wings are given to the when they complete the formal training. It is rumored that SoulHealers can fly with these wings, and are capable of killing as much as healing, though no one other than them know if this is true or not. The duties of a SoulHealer involve the healing of the sick, the leading and preparing of funerals, and being a midwife.

SOULSLAYERS: The SoulSlayers are really not as ominous as they sound. They have the ability to do a great deal of harm, almost killing a person. They have white dove wings, and generally wear black robes. It is rumored that they can change their form, though no one know what they would change to. Their duties are the punishing and containment of criminals, the burying of the dead, and the upholding of the law where they are given authority to do so. This happens a lot as cities find it cheaper to have volunteer SoulSlayers do policework instead of paying an officer to do the same work.

SOULSPEAKERS: The SoulSpeakers are the preachers of the Soulwhisper. They educate the masses and it is unsure of whether they have any abilities or not. They do not have wings, instead they have a white aura that is visible to everyone. It extends to about a foot away from their bodies. They are responsible for the holding of religious gatherings and the teaching of the Soulwhisper doctrine. Some believe that the Soulspeakers are capable of far more than they appear, and a very small group believes that they are the reincarnation of gods.

((That's a really good question, and considering that history is mostly the same, Yes. It's not as simple as cats hate dogs and vice versa. It's more of, This type of anthro originated in this area of the world and is hated by the anrthos that live in this area. If you look at histoy and compare it to this world, line them up and thats how that should work. Slavery in the United States still happened, in much the same way, for an example. all of the conflicts happened and the hostilities that are around today still happened. If you would like to take this into account when making your character, it would make the story more interesting.))

Appearance: Short and thin, he mostly has brown fur, but has a black stripe along his eyes. The fur on his muzzle is a lighter brown. He has no outstanding features, and would most likely be described as 'plain'.

Personality: Jude is subservient and reserved in the face of his superiors, including those who are physically imposing to him, although he is inwardly resentful of this. To peers he is hard-working and friendly, although can seem neurotic and socially awkward.

Abilities: (Pending approval) Jude can create an electric charge which can be used to literally recharge electronics, making him like a walking battery. It can also be used offensively, electrocuting those he is touching, but Jude is not aware of this application, never thinking to try it.

Clothes: White shirt and tie (black or blue), black trousers and belt, black shoes. He's not exactly one to push the boat out.

Biographical information: Jude has had, for the most part, an entirely uneventful life. He was raised in the suburbs, achieved average throughout his education (slightly better at maths and the sciences, worse at English and the creative arts) and took an economics course at college. From there, through his Uncle, he landed a desk job at an office in the inner city, dealing with data management and finances. He received a promotion quickly, but since then has not moved anywhere in 6 years. He is one of the most senior members of his level, and despite being on good terms with his superiors, does not appear to have the drive to succeed further. He has a tight, but small, core of friends, and does not socialise much beyond them.

Invader Zim is an advanced bow that runs directly off of Cierra’s vast spiritual energy reserves. Through this is able to use her spiritual energy as a weapon in the form of sprit Arrows. She can fire several at once but it still limited by her own power. Though unlike other bows of similar design, her Bow doesn’t require an internal power source the Reason for this is that she built the bow herself and her massive internal energy reverses. Because she currently has no physical control over the energy she has aside from the rate of drain on

Grim:

Grim at first glance looks like a sword but it’s not, although it can be used as an improvised sword. Grim is actually an arrow. While the bow doesn’t need physical Arrows, Grim allows the making an Arrow of Greatly amplified power without any extra physical expense. The drawback is that while Grim is reusable it takes time to charge and she has only made one so far, combined with the fact that its still a working prototype and is subject to random failure.

Occupation: Professor of Arcane Studies

Appearance: Tall, kinda thin. One of the most noticeable features is the large bat like ears that she has combined with mostly draconic features. Her wings are almost disproportionally large compared to her body at almost 15 feet across. The thing that most people notice aside from the large ears if the Jet colored scales that cover her body along with the ruby red eyes.

Weight: 170 Lbs

Personality: Stubborn, Bitchy at times, hyperactive, talks fast, impulsive at times, absolutely determined to get what she wants.

Invaders Must Die:

Cierra is a Spiritual Vacuum. Her natural ability is to drain the energy of all living things it can kill those that are untrained in the manipulation of the own internal energy and cause harm or weaken those that are. The problem is that her ability is only Quasistable, she can control the rate of drain on the environment around her but she can’t turn the ability “off”. As a result she rarely sleeps, and eats rather little compared to the majority of people.

This ability also grants her control over how the energy that flows through her allowing her to power her sprit energy based weaponry. It’s also because of this ability that her normal Spiritual “Footprint” Is FAR larger than your average person.

She currently has little control over her ability aside from the rate of intake. She can also expel this energy into objects such as Invader Zim Or Grim. But that is the extent of her current abilities.

Clothing: White denim Jeans, loose white cotton shirt, and a large white Cotton over coat with wing slits.

Cierra was born in the Mid-west deep in the Rockies. She is the Daughter of famed industrialist Eli McNamara, a man that was famous for bringing new life to the US steel production with the invention of a new Energy infused metal that was twice as strong, and half as light as normal steel. Thanks to her upbringing she was without want during her childhood. At the age of six she killed her own mother through an accident involving her own powers. During her childhood she little to no control over her powers and as a result they would flux wildly during her childhood based on her emotions. The Resulting events left her traumatized.

Even with the Emotional scars brought on by the event it never stopped her from excelling in what she put her mind to. Because she was exceedingly Rich merely by her birth right, she went to college not for a career but for her own enjoyment. And that was one of the newest fields of studies; something combined the “Magic” with the laws of science. She was one of the first people to get her PHD in the New Field of Arcane Sciences and Arcane Engineering and one of the Pioneers in the field.

Flaws:

She is a drug addict, he substances of choice is Crystal Meth, and Pain killers.

She is also a Chain Smoker.

She has an almost irrational attraction to white clothes.

Personality: Jonsi’s vagrancy betrays his intelligence. Untrusting and sarcastic, Jonsi is rather off putting to most. He’s especially critical of the Soulwhisper religion and its followers.

Abilities: Can tap into Richard Dean Anderson’s superhuman McGyver abilities at will (oh I kid, no powers for Jonsi if that’s alright).

Clothes: Wears a simple green military jacket, black t-shirt, and faded blue denim pants. All of which look ragged and worn save for his brown work boots which still look as durable as the day he bought them (5 years ago).

Biographical information: Jonsi was born in 1991 in New Orleans, Louisiana. His parents sent him off to an orphanage 3 months after he was born. He rarely speaks of this save for the few times that he decides to laugh at his bastard origins. He stayed at in orphanage until he ran away at age 10. He took up residence in a small abandoned wooden shack outside of city limits, visiting New Orleans every now and again to beg for food or simply walk around the city. During that time he was rather miserable, until he began to look more closely at the lives of people who lived comfortably and practiced the Soulwhisper beliefs. From his point of view, he saw prisoners of consumerism and religion, slaves of their own design. Then he came to the conclusion that, since he wasn’t a slave of a god or company, North America was his playground. And so, Jonsi left Louisiana by his 12th birthday to travel. He worked several odd jobs around the country to keep himself fed. Some of them were a bit…legally questionable (such as being a small time drug courier for the Tijuana drug cartel). Beyond that, he kept no strong ties anywhere. And he prefers to keep it that way.

Born to a chinese family in San Francisco, 1987 5th May, she was brought up in the middle of SF's Chinatown. She ended up getting a job early after high school as a waitress. Though, she detested the fact that the ship's captain (restaurant boss) made the ladies wear the Qipao. And she wasn't too happy to find out that it helped draw people in too. People went to a chinese restaurant they expected everything to be chinese, right down to the showy dress. She grew up with that odd mix of western and eastern influences. Brought up to respect her ancestors, yet contemporary enough to question the wisdom in that. She has no religion that she would consider herself part of, having no time for the out-modded superstitious beliefs her family ascribed to.

((That's a good limit for now. There will be character advancement and development of abilities so maybe one day she could walk through lava! But not starting out, so you're perfect for now. REPORT ON THE SOULWHISPER Religion:

World population following at last census: 33%

Beliefs:

Polytheistic, The Soulwhisper believe in two deities, The God Of Life, and The Goddess Of Death. As such, the cycle of life and death play a major significance in the Soulwhiper. They recieved this name because they believe that the deities are always whispering to their souls, whether they hear it or not.

The God Of Life, who's avatar is the sun, sends light and energy to the earth which is harvested by the spirits of the plants to be distributed among all the beings of Earth. He is honored by the people living as long as they can, doing good with the energy given to them. As well as with prayers that greet the sun as the earth rotates to see it. SoulHealers are required to partake in these ceremonies everyday, and most followers try to partake in them at least once a week.

The Goddess Of Death, who's avatar is each and every grave, watches over the souls of the dead. She gives peace to grieving families, and comforts the living with images of their relatives from when they were alive. She is honored when they are honored. When you remember the dead and celebrate that they are now closer to the fabric of the universe, that is when she is honored. Her celebrations take place on the winter solstice, the darkest, coldest day of earth. There are actually two celebrations for her, one in the north in December, and one in the south during June, the shortest days in both hemispheres. All SoulSlayers are required to be in attendance. Hardly any others attend, though all are welcome.

The SoulSpeakers teach the masses and keep them informed as to the activities of the deities. The exist to spread information and enforce the will of the gods. They attend and speak at all ceremonies possible. They are also the most plentiful of followers to have rank. For every one SoulHealer or SoulSlayer, there are approximately six SoulSpeakers. As such, they carry out all executive function of the Soulwhisper, and honor both deities.

Description: This young wolf stands at the prestigious height of 5''6', weighing probably around 120 to 140 pounds. His clothing bring the thought of middle class to mind with his jeans, sneakers and straight rimmed hats always worn backwards, slightly to the right. At first glance he seems to be just an average looking 14 year old, but closer examination would reveal a scar down his right eye. His right arm, which is always sleeved and has gloves, is actually entirely metal after a few mishaps during his childhood. His arms would also be tattooed with what seems to be light blue, faded tattoos in strange designs that most people would not understand or comprehend. (For Looks, look at Avatar)

Bio: From the star of his life this young man's life has been hell. When he was first born his mother was killed from the child birth. With his father out of the picture and unknown to even himself, he was forced to live on the street after fleeing from his orphanage at the small age of 4. Since then Jace has had to fight to survive. But even from an early age, he discovered his uncanny intelligence. When he was 6 he stole his first laptop. With this laptop he learned how to steal random people's wifi and with that he learned all he knew about his dangerous hacking skills. From then on, it was easy sailing. He became one of the worlds top most wanted hackers, but no one knew who he actually was, what he looked like, or even how old he is. He roams now with all the money he wants because well, people don't secure their bank accounts like they really should.

Appearance: Standing around 5' 10", Chad has smooth, rubbery skin like most dolphins, though most of his body is covered in a vibrant red, flowing, tribal tattoo that literally connects from his forehead all the way to the top of his feet. His dorsal fin has a scar running width-wise across it. His eyes are a deep, sea blue. The end of Chad's tail only has one half of the propelling fin, the other half having been lost in an accident. Two dove wings extend from his back, displaying his status.

Weight: 170 lbs

Personality: knightly, humorous, libido-oriented

Abilities: Chad's abilities are limited to close range due to the unstable nature of his power. His most used power consists of bending a gale force wind around his arm, becoming a living spear, but have the wind force right next to his arm causes as much if not more damage to himself as to his target. To survive, Chad also moisturizes the air just above his skin so he doesn't dry out.

Clothes: Chad absolutely hates to wear his black robes, only doing so when forced to. Usually, he can be found in a Hawaiian shirt and light sweat pants, complete with sandals and shark-tooth necklace accessory.

Biographical Information: Chad was born in Florida, near the ocean like most of his race. He was brought up in the tribal ways of the dolphins near his home, leading him to have a deep respect for the nature around him, daily swimming in the ocean and paying respects to the goddess of the ocean. His entire world came crashing down on his 12th birthday when a feral shark decided to take a bite out of his tail, ripping half of his propelling fin off. Luckily, his family was never far and they managed to save him before he could become fish food, rushing him to the nearest hospital.

The doctors gave him the bad news a few days later: his tail was ruined and he'd probably never be able to swim the same way again. To a dolphin, this meant death and Chad was grieved over for little over a weak, but he surprised his family. Not only did he recover, but his arcane affinity was discovered. Tales of the Soulwhisper religion were rampant in his small home and his parents urged him to seek them out and seek training, so within a month, the young dolphin was on his way. His parting gift was his full body tattoo, given by his family as a way to remember them.

The Soulwhisperers were all too happy to take in a new convert, but they were also in for the shock of their life as they tested Chad's power reservoir. The result left many of the Soulwhisperers powerless for a little under ten minutes and the temple in need of some repairs. The sheer amount of power within Chad scared the Soulwhisperers in Florida and they quickly sent him to San Francisco to a specialist. He became a source of studies to them and was quickly given the role of a Soulslayer due to his mannerisms and inability to stand back when people were breaking the law.

Chad spent the next several years as a student, following a father around as he cleaned up the city, but was eventually given the rank of Father himself after tracking down a seriously wanted criminal and getting said criminal off the streets. During one such attempt, he met Cierra McNamara during a solo drug bust, catching her red handed with the stuff. Truth be told, he was going to arrest her and turn her in to the authorities, but Cierra really worked him over with her feminine wiles and now the two are in a relationship, though he does rag on her about her drug addiction.
