I agree that we need a thread for the WORLD'S LONGEST RUNNING SCI-FI SHOW *ahem* (1963-1989, then again, from 2005 til the present - and not a reboot, it's a continuation!)
Also - best episode title ever xD
I, and my friends who watched it with me, thoroughly enjoyed the latest episode, and were rapt with attention - despite the fact there were seven of us, we were all completely quiet for the whole running time - which means it must have been good, as we were all paying attention!
Also, if anyone says LOL Dr Who is childrens' TV - so what? it's still visited many of the same, and more, sci-fi ideas, plots, cliches, tropes, storylines, and etc. than any number of 'adult' sci-fi series have, so more power to it!
I have to say that I have never really watched an entire series of Doctor Who. I know, that's terrible but that's how it has shaken out for me. When the seriees are available on Netflix here in Canada I will be watching them.
I do remember playing a really awesome Doctor Who pinball machine though. I believe it was one of the later Data Easte tables. Anyone else remember it?
Doctor Who, "The Sci-fi show for kids that every adult loves!" is how it's described X3. Doctor Who is one of my all time ever favorite sci-fi shows and I agree this site needs a doctor who thread! I'm ashamed the super geeks we all are haven't done this already! Btw "The Impossible Astronaut" was creepy! I dunno if there's been another episode yet, what with living in Iceland, anyone care to fill me in on it if I've missed out on anything? :3
Yes! I too caught the mid-season finale last night, as a quite a big Dr.Who fan (having joined the bandwagon during the Ecceltson years and slowly been touching up on my Classic Who too) and though admittedly, I sort of pieced together the "big reveal" at the end, I'm still more then pumped to see the rest of this season play out. I mean, come on, the next episode is called "Let's Kill Hitler". How does one NOT get pumped up after a title like that, seriously...?

Totally, that Renfield thing had me hiding behind my paws, and the way the whole situation with the Strangers is finally resolved was extremely disturbing given the whole "using people as weapons" theme the show has taken up lately...

Oh man there're six more episodes in this first half of the series, then they start again in the Autumn. My favourite was #4, The Doctor's Wife...
Is it shown dubbed or with subtitles or something where you are? I'm just wondering why there'd be such a long delay..
@Borg-Dog, I gotta agree, the Doctor's Wife is probably my favorite episode so far this season with the latest one being a close second. I mean come on, non-linear Sexy conversation! Also, how can you go wrong with beds with ladders XD

The author of ep 4 (who is a genius in my book, if ya'll haven't read his stuff yet then you totally should (especially the comics)) has posted a great Q&A about the episode (scroll down until you see the word Spoilers).

Aww no love for '80s anime Who? Erm well, what about The Ten Doctors then? (Fan webcomic, pretty good from what i've seen, it all starts here...)
I really couldn't sit through the 80's anime. Something about the 'Doctor' straight up beating the thugs with brute force rather than wit seemed... insulting :C That was just my opinion of it anyway. However, from an artist's perspective, for being a fan-made piece it was cool (the parts that I watched anyway).
Anyway, I will check out the fan comic. And last but not least, NEW EPISODE UP NEXT!

Yeah i'm with you (the idea that you can overcome most adverse situations through thinking is the key message of the show imho, see Ferguson vid above) but the sheer effort on the part of the fan who made the anime clips just impressed me.. it was all one guy, working alone for like four years or something...
Edit: So apparently the 'new episode' I was talking about was the one all you seemed to have known about and already seen. Oh well, I suppose it is to be expected since I'm watching it on BBCA =P
