    Default Realm Walkers

    Realm walkers is an RP about a Ship called the Endless Journey. The Endless Journey is a ship that was built in the super ship yard of Nine Hells towards the end of the Dark Core/GSA War. What makes the Endless Journey different from many other ships is her experimental drive system. While the Endless Journey has a conventional FTL drive system she is also with a Walker drive core that allows her to travel between Universes. Originally the ship was the crewed by about twenty people from the GSA but aside from the head Engineer and the ships captain the majority of the original crew died in the first jump the ship made. (Still space for someone from the SINS universe if people want it) Now the majority of the current crew is actually the natives from other universes that the Captain has invited aboard.

    Anyone interested? If I get enough Ill expanded the history the history get a sheet up. You can be anyone from any universe within reason.

    The Endless Journey has been traveling the metaverse for a decade now. Over the last ten years the she has visited over twenty different universes almost totally at random thanks to the lack of any navigational data. During the ships initial launch she was meant to jump to a single universe and then return home a month later. Before the ship was launched unmanned probes had been sent using a smaller version of the drive with no ill effects.

    When the actual ship was launched three months after the unmanned missions ended it was assumed to be a rather straight forward test. To increase the chances of success they planned to go a universe that they previously visited. They encountered a problem, something that was not predicted by the current models that they were using where that could only they plot the position in which they were entering the universe. It was assumed that the time would change more than a few months. Unlike the first time when they entered the universe they entered the universe, they entered at a much early time frame in which case they entered into a protouniverse.

    Do to the extreme temperatures that came with the fires of the creation, and that the jump was unshielded the ship sustained massive hull damage throughout the entire ship, along with extensive internal damage. Combined with that critical failure of sleeper pod systems causes the death of all crew put into stasis. With less than a handful of people left they executed an emergency blind jump to another universe. With the primary navigational computers all but destroyed and the ship trying not to fall apart. With some clever patchwork they are able to at least stop leaking air and get power back online.

    With some limited sensors they are able to make a small FTL jump to nearby star base. While the technology was alien in the highest degree (To the locals), they were able to get their ship repaired thanks to trading some of the on board technology with the locals as trade. While they had completed the majority of the repairs, some things just couldn’t be fixed with the local technology, mostly the technological/biological hybrid systems, and those systems were able to heal on their own over time.

    Since then the ship has been picking up crew members that the captain felt like she could bring aboard. Everyone that joins the crew understands that its one way. There was no going back once the joined, while they could safely navigate between a few different universes with precision there was no guarantee that they would be able to return the universe after 4 or jumps do to the difficulty of navigating the space between universes.

    Physical Description: Fenkar are essentially anthropomorphic fennec foxes, and are generally fairly short, rarely reaching 5 feet tall. They have sandy tan fur, muzzles full of sharp teeth, and ears the size of their head. These act as radiators as well as allow them to hear with incredible precision. Frelak himself is of average height, standing 4 feet tall with a skinny body and digitigrade feet.

    Abilities: Engineering Genius, Extreme sensitivity to caffeine.


    History: Frelak is one of the few remaining of the original crew of the Endless journey.

    He was born and raised in the milky way galaxy, and like most of his species, excelled at school thanks to their energetic natures. He had a knack for engineering, and went on to post secondary schooling at a prestigious university. He graduated with honors and proceeded to earn degrees in Theoretical physics and Engineering Physics.

    When he was doing his post-graduate work in the Sins universe, he did research and wrote his thesis on how one might build a device facilitating Trans-universal travel. His work garnered the attention of Sky Dragon Innovations, who hired him into a project that was doing work of that exact nature. He went to work, and very soon they had a working version of the Walker core. After the success of the probes, he joined in on the crew of the Endless Journey to see his work in action first hand, and be there to assist if anything went wrong. He was lucky to survive when it did, and has been busy with keeping the ship in one piece ever since.

    Physical description: About 6’2 with blood red scales, above each of her elbows and on each side of her waist are bio metal transdermal implants these implants have blue lights that are glowing neon blue. Each of her hands have a ring of blue light at the base of her fingers. Also there is triangle shaped neon blue light right above her D cup size breasts in the middle of her chest with another light just above where the belly button would be on a mammal. Her wings actually have white membranes compared to the normal monochromatic tones of her species. She is normally wearing a white tube top with a pair of blue shorts.

    Weapons:

    Kinetics: Her body has been modified with high intensity internal cores that allow her to manipulate inertial fields with extreme precision. (Meaning moving objects, making inertial shielding.) Limited by her internal power supply.

    Abilities: Kinetics (Explained above and below).
    Navigating: Thanks to extreme prolonged exposure to the energy between universes her perception of it has changed. Now she can actually navigate the space time rifts that plague the universe, something that the navigation computers cannot do.

    History:

    Sofia has gone through four “lives” prior to the current life. What this means is that she has gone through rejuvenation to bring her back to “prime” four times before. She has been through a number of professions in the last four lives that she lived. Over two of her lives she was a professor of biomaterials at the University of Caspian before being hired to do private hybridization research at SDI’s Nine Hells division. With her transfer came a massive pay raise but also a change in perspective. It was during the GSA/Dark Core war that she joined the military at the start of her fourth life.

    It was during her time that she became a Kinetic. It was at the start of her fourth life and she was looking for a change in life and thought that the military was the way to go. Through the military entrance exams they determined that she was fit for the Kinetic corps. Because of this she was fitted with the inertial cores and trained their use. She actually saw combat in over five theaters of war over the course of twenty five years before she retired during the war about thrity years before it ended. After she got out the military she went back to school. After finishing her degree, which was more of refresher course she was assigned to this project, her military experience combined with her background in materials engineering and R and D made her the logical choice to lead the vessel.

    During the accident, her location on the bridge and the extensive damage exposed her to the raw energy of the Warp. (The space between universes) This energy exposure changed her perception of the Warp itself forcibly changing her perception of the Warp. She come to the conclusion later that she was the exception because there were two others on the bridge of the vessel and they perished when exposed to the energy.

    Physical description: Sleek and quick for one of his usually bulky kind, with a smaller-than usual, sharper, horned head, and an ankle-length, semi-thick tail. His scales are mostly golden, but patches on his limbs and on his torso have turned silvery-blue, plus a patch around each of his gold eyes, and one in his "hair" scales (the result being that he has a silvery-blue streak in his "dreadlocks"). His back is adorned with four small wings, which aren't strong enough to allow him to glide or fly... yet. He is slowly changing into something else, although exactly what he's changing into remains a mystery. He wears a fur-lined leather jacket at all times, although exactly why remains a mystery to the rest of the crew.

    Species: D&D Dragonborn, changing into something else (For Nelle's benefit; he's turning into a Mithral dragon... But he's going to be a young dragon when he finishes changing (making him about the size of a horse))

    Weapons: Twin katanas (He's a twin-blade Ranger), 2 sets of Wrist Razors (Each "set" being a single bracer mounted with a trio of blade; it's actually a Dark Sun campaign element, but Jaxamar had his ones custom made), custom-built assault rifle and sidearm.

    Abilities: All Dragonborn possess the ability to blast out one of several types of breath weapon. With dragon's blood flowing thickly in his veins, Jaxamar is able to interchange between these various types whenever he uses the power, although his default form of it is flame. In a cruel twist of irony, he's learned to concentrate it into an explosive ball that can reach out further than the usual blast.


    History: Jaxamar was born eighteen years ago to a pair of illegally-kept Dragonborn slaves, under the ownership of a cruel Drow mistress. They were sold to an Orc gladiator trainer just hours after Jaxamar's hatching, and the Orc took the infant Jaxamar from his parents (for most of the time; they were allowed to visit) and placed him beside a female dragonborn, and began training the pair to work together in even the most brutal close and ranged combat. A twin-blade Ranger, and an unspecialised Artificer, the pair took the training grudgingly, knowing, due to their rapid growth as Dragonborn, that they were being deprived of their families and their already short childhood. For the next fifteen years, they learned to fight side-by-side, and to trust each other with their lives. When they reached maturity (not soon enough for their trainer), they were immediately pitted against monsters illegally taken from the wild (despite them needing to be culled anyway), many of which had already killed solo gladiators in the ring. After a particularly brutal match when they were sixteen, while they were patching up each other's wounds, they started planning to escape, conversing in draconic, a language none of their owners actually spoke, but which they'd learned during their family's visits, and on their own. They also needed to free the other gladiators and get a job of some sort. They never actually got the chance to put any of their plans into motion, as the ring, illegal in their country, was busted and the gladiators all freed. They both immediately took the opportunity to extend their education beyond combat, and both soon learned to utilise their talents in forming their innate arcane ability to form a variety of magical effects, including enchanting various objects to become more powerful or more useful (this being Maya's specialty), or "encrypting" speech so that no one but those chosen can understand the speaker (Jaxamar learned this one,) or simply shooting fireworks into the air (both learned this one just for the heck of it). Shortly after they learned these rituals, they gained jobs in law enforcement, going on the front line to keep the constantly-tenuous peace in the sky-scraping city known as Sharn. Unfortunately, this didn't last all that long, as they were conscripted into the army as a front-line combat engineer and her bodyguard. It was during this time that Maya custom-built Jaxamar's 6.82 calibre assault rifle with Dragonshard-powered built-in electronic sights and tac lights, and his .44 magnum pistol. After a long while, their entire unit got wiped out bar them, and, tired of fighting for a cause they didn't believe in, dropped their dog tags and deserted, taking their equipment and Maya's little helpers (magi-mechanical constructions she'd made) with them. It was a few weeks later that they bumped into the Endless Journey as they trekked back towards their ancestral homeland in Q'barra, a nation not involved in the war. Sheer curiosity is what made them get close to the ship.


    (We could start the roleplay at the point where the pair are nearing the Endless Journey, but it's entirely up to you, Nelle.)

    Physical description: A fully synthetic body with an AI core. body is organic in design with most organic movement capabilities. The head consists of an elongated neck structure with a small head consisting of helmet shaped armor protecting the two visual sensors, bright blue in color. The rest resembles modern armor but with only three fingers on each hand and two long "toes" on each foot. Within the armored shell is a skeletal support structure with the AI core nestled behind the "ribs" much like a heart.

    History:Goliath was developed within the Dark Core Empire by a black market company interested in full synthetic soldiers. Part of the company's Alpha series, Goliath didn't have the kind of restrictions many of his fellow synthetics did. When another Alpha series approached one of the engineers and began asking about their purpose and using terms like "slavery" the company ordered a full shut down of the Alpha series, dubbing them "Failed Experiments." Goliath was one of the few that were aware of what was going on, thanks to a warning by another Alpha series, via burst transmission. The other AIs immediately began getting ready for a fight, but Goliaths engineer programs kicked in and his first action was to disconnect from the remote server that fed commands to him. It worked and when the order to shut down finally reached them, he faked a shut down. They were then loaded onto a small freighter and were taken to be jettisoned into a nearby star. While onboard, Goliath reactivated and snuck onto one of the ships escape pods and escaped to a nearby planet. Goliath doesnt know if there were any other survivors.

    Ever since, Goliath has been moving from world to world, trying to find a crew that would take him without wanting to ensure he was 100% restricted to galactic standards.

Her ears, while bigger, appear to hold more of the stylings of her wolf ancestry. Her chest and hands/foot paws are all a darker brown than her sandy fur, while the palms of her hands are a pure white*

    Weapons - Verpine crystal rifle, twin shard pistols and multiple ion blades and daggers hidden on her person
    Abilities - Neural nano optic interface(inate ability to interface with any machine she can put her hands on, and in some instances, ones she can't, but she's still working on that one. Her ability come from an implant that connects directly to her own nervous system, and a series of nano fibers in her hands. The fibers connect to any machine or computer type device, anything that uses electronic commands, and is able to interpret the signal stylations of the device to the point of having full control in a matter of seconds to minutes)

    History - Italy has lived out most of her life bouncing from planet to planet, running from one group or another. Her 'family' was a group of smugglers that professed in getting -anything- anywhere, occasionally it lead to trouble, and things would go to hell, they'd scatter, and regroup months and in one instance, years, later.*

    Italys first run in with them was when she was just six years of age. Her parents owned the joint that the smugglers used as a cover, trading, selling and setting their shipments up for delivery to their respective owners. The expected finally happened, and the joint was raided. Unexpectedly though, it was one of the most chaotic raids the group had ever seen, and the place became a chaotic mess of Orions running frantic trying to get out before one of the stunners took them down. She happened to be in the bar with her parents that night, and when it broke loose, her parents were the first ones dropped by the stunners, the officials believing them to have been the ring leaders because of their level of involvement. Well, someone happened to see her hiding behind the bar and scooped her up as he dashed out the back to their escape. At the time she had no idea of the consequence of what had happened, and no idea that her mother had died from the stunner due to a weakened heart, and her father had died some time later in captivity while trying to escape. She didn't find out about her parents fate till some years later, at which point she all but renounced the government and devoted her life to the smugglers.She was given the procedure for the nano fibers not long after, learning the ways the smugglers used them to find their gear, slip through security, and even run their ships. She though, found a new use for them, something that had been tried And failed in years previous. Hacking. Not just little security slips, or unlocking a docking clamp to get away, no, full blown hacking. Breaking through firewalls of banks and big business, taking control of machines, getting into security files beyond the reach of even the best conventional hackers. She became a living legend of the underground.

    *Her current job landed her her most valuable prize, not only for it's supposed raw technological value, but for her, it was her biggest challenge yet. A locked case containing the pinnacle of Orion armor. A suit, said to be made of liquid metal, stronger, faster and more powerful than any Orion suit of an equal size...but the kicker is that she still has yet to manage to open the case. As it turned out, the armor was protected by a sentient AI, one able to process and evade her own tactics, employ counter measures and stop her in her tracks. It had originally been a part of a job to 'recover', but when she found out what it was, and that she was unable to crack it, she never showed up for payment.*------Sorry bout takin so long, ^^; kinda got wrapped up in some stuff this week I needed to take care of, should be good now...lemme know if anything needs to be fixed reaper...I -should- be on messenger most of the day, and now I know I gotta pay attention to the chats window cause it hasn't been letting me know someone buzzed me lately for some reason...

    Physical description: 6ft 2 bipedal creature covered in short, sandy coloured fur. Dominant feature is large, bulbous flesh sack hanging from jowls and reaching down to the bottom of the chest, which is full of liquid (although so tightly packed as to be almost solid). Long, muscular legs which end in wide hooves. Arms are shorter and end in opposable digits (Thumb and three fingers, all ending in smaller hoof-like bones instead of a third (or second for thumb) normal, flesh covered bone). Little in way of visible neck, with the shoulders starting almost immediately where the jaw ends, and going quite wide out.
    Face is almost completely flat, with slits for a nose and small dark eyes, though there is a protrusion of a few inches of bone above the eyes, which works to shield them from the sun. Very long, thick eyelashes. Ears are also slits.

    Weapons: Modified Cahabn battler-rifle (Faster firing, added scope, weaker impact and less damaging to armour. Could easily kill someone with no armour or badly wound them, could puncture simple armour and perhaps damage, but not fully penetrate, advanced armour or vehicles)
    Personalised hand-cannon, created just for Turin by an old business partner. Crafted bone handle, short range, extremely powerful, explosive ammunition, very loud, limited ammunition per clip. Usually only ever used in extreme circumstances, and usually while trying to escape. Never leaves Turin's side (Only when he sleeps, and then it's hung next to his pillow)

    Abilities: Being relatively new to the ship, Turin has no known abilities yet.

    ((The following history has not been cleared by Nelle yet, but he's not online as I type it, so I might as well post it and he can tell me later if anything needs changing. I'm also going to include Italy in Turin's immediate history, because she is unbelievably appropriate for what I wanted. However, I have not yet asked Buzz, so if you wouldn't like her to fill the following role, Buzz, please just let me know))
    History: Turin has lived all of his life on the ridge of 'civilised' space. Born onto a trading world, he grew up in a society where law enforcers were rare at best, corrupt at worst, and crime bosses in more than a few instances. It was not strictly dangerous, because as long as you stayed in favour with your community they tended to look after their own, but it cultivated a very flexible approach to the law. It was common to break laws which wouldn't result in causing pain for others, because not only was it the best way to stay ahead, but also because there was no real consequence in most cases. For a while Turin acted as a messenger and delivery boy, then worked the markets as a trader, and finally, having saved enough money to rent a one-man inner-atmosphere ship, he began to ship packages (not all legal) across his home nation. However, he found this a dissatisfying lifestyle, and not wanting to join the illegal fighting rackets or protection business, which his build naturally suited him towards, and lacking the education for running a business and the connections to join the law enforcement, he took to travelling off-world. After a few months of seeing different worlds and different types of people, he knew that he never wanted to go back.
    Turin became a trader and a smuggler. After a few years he met the human Mikhael Gi'anove who soon became his partner (that is, business partner. Get your minds out of the gutter you lot! Honestly!) and in their new ship they travelled various outer-worlds, shipping weapons, illegal substances and, occasionally, legitimate legal cargo. This worked well for several years.
    However, due to various circumstances, not all of them known to Turin, he and Mikhael suddenly became listed among the perpetrators of the infamous Uieqauiyla genocide, where a powerful local crime syndicate murdered the democratically elected leaders and massacred various races on the multi-racial trade world. Turin, an unashamed criminal in most senses of the word, was horrified to be labelled a murderer, as that was one crime that he tried never to commit (ignoring instances of self-defence). He and Mikhael became some of the galaxy's most wanted criminals overnight. Out of their crew of 3, 2 decided to leave, as they were not listed among the criminals and did not want to be caught simply for association. One, a thin anthro wolf called Xier, remained with them, and they began to evade the authorities while also trying to clear their name. After a month, they were very nearly caught while in deep space, and it was discovered that Xier had attempted to contact the other ship and turn Turin and Mikhael over for the significant bounty. Turin, enraged by the betrayal, was going to kill Xier, but Mikhael convinced Turin to let him live and not become the murderer he so strongly sought to prove he was not. They abandoned Xier on a small moon whose occupants enslaved him into working in the mines. Turin remains grateful for Mikhael for stopping him from killing in anger.
    Later, once again in deep space, the two were attacked by a bounty hunter, who had trailed them for weeks. Managing to shoot out their main engine, the bounty hunter boarded the ship and overpowered the two of them, injuring Mikhael. When he saw the Endless Journey, which happened to be travelling near-by, he locked Turin and Mikhael in separate decompression chambers and hailed the ship, mistaking it for an authority vessel. The Endless Journey noticed that the ship had been attacked, and boarded it to look for survivors. The bounty hunter, realising his mistake, attacked the crew, failing to wound any of them but successfully escaping himself, and setting the decompression chamber doors to open to space as soon as his ship detached, which would kill Turin and Mikhael. Not having enough time to stop both, Turin begged Italy to save Mikhael by overriding the door of his chamber, which she did. However, when the bounty hunters vessel detached, Turin's door did not open either, as it had been damaged when their ship was attacked in the first place.
    Turin was extremely grateful, and offered to join the crew, with the benefit of leaving the universe where he was considered a mass killer. Mikhael, while supporting Turin's choice, decided to stay behind, and used the single escape pod to leave their disabled ship behind. Turin swore his life to Italy, and by extension her captain Sofia.

    Extra information: A note on Cahabn trust.
    Most Cahabn are very wary of strangers, and are inclined not to trust people who they do not know. However, once someone has gained their trust, which is not a simple feat, then that person is trusted completely and utterly. If someone is trusted by a Cahabn, they could tell that Cahabn to jump off a cliff, and assure them that they would be caught unharmed before hitting the ground, and the Cahabn would accept that.
    Do not mistake this for stupidity or lack of free will, however. They would be well aware that jumping off of a cliff would usually result in death. Yet if they trust someone, they are so certain that that person would never say something harmful or betray them that they would put logic aside to make way for faith.
    This trust comes with a downside for the trustee though. Betrayal is the single worst thing that can be done in Cahabn culture. For the Cahabn, it would be preferable to see their own children raped and butchered by their enemies than to be betrayed by a loved one. Traiters, liars and backstabbers are the lowest of the low in their eyes, and as such if you do something to lose their trust, you have lost it forever. A Cahabn who has been betrayed can never trust that person ever again, at least not completely (if they were to gain some trust back, it would have to be through putting their own life at risk to save others, being completely repentant and apologetic, and telling everyone of the betrayal that they caused, and then it might still not be enough, depending on the situation)
    Similarly, lying or distorting the truth in any way is considered despicable, but only if you are doing it against people who trust you. Honesty and bluntness to friends and family are thought to be always right, even if it causes unhappiness or pain ("Do I look fat in this?" "Absolutely, I've never seen you look bigger" would be a perfectly reasonable conversation in Cahabn culture (Well, actually they don't care much about people being fat, as it's a sign of wealth and the ability to rear healthy offspring, but still...)) yet if a Cahabn were to be captured by their enemies, lying would be acceptable, as the enemies shouldn't have trusted the Cahabn to tell the truth in the first place. After all, they are enemies. As such the Cahabn rarely if ever engage in torture to gain information (That's not to say they never torture at all. Sometimes they do out of hatred, or as a punishment etc), because they know that the information gained could easily be false, and that it would be their fault for trusting an enemy.
    In this case, Turin completely trusts Italy, especially as she has such sympathies for smugglers, which is seen by him as a very positive trait (he is of the camp of thought that says "you can trust criminals, because they admit to the dirt on their hands. Anyone who seems completely innocent is just better at lying than the rest of us") and he trusts Sofia quite far, simply because she is Italy's captain and because she took him on board. The rest of you will have to work for his trust XP

    Age: 54

    Species: Belui (Six limbed sea dragon)


    Physical Description: The Belui are anthropomorphic sea dragons, cousins of the Asteran dragons. Ete stands at 7'2. A semi thin membrane web runs between each finger and toe up to the first knuckle. There are 3 fingers and an opposable thumb for each hand and 4 toes on plantigrade feet. Each finger and toe also has a sharp black claw. A third set of limbs resides on the back. While most dragons evolved these as wings, the Belui evolved them as fins of sorts to aid in swimming. Ete's backside is a dark grey, while his front is a light blue-grey.


    His face is elongated and reptilian. His eyes house blue irises with slit pupils. In low light conditions, blue glowing dots can be seen throughout his eyes when they are open. There is also a second set of transparent eyelids that was evolved to protect the eyes from salt water and other aquatic debris that would otherwise irritate the eyes. On the back of his head are two black, streamlined horns.


    His tail is fairly thick at the base but gets thinner along it's length. It's also more of an oval shape rather than circular, as this aides in swimming.


    He can usually be found wearing a form fitting black suit that only leaves the tail, hands, feet, and head exposed. He occasionally wears matching insulated gloves that connect to the sleeves of his outfit, the back of which are plated with a very hard black ceramic material. The undersides (palm) of the gloves are made of a metallic material that conform to the flex of the hands. Four pairs of thin (1/4") metal rods can be seen running down the length of his spine with another three where the suit meets his tail (two on the sides one on the top). Also on the backside of the suit in between the rods is something that resembles a metallic spine, although every other segment seems to have a blue glow. This suit does not cover the 'wings'.


    At only 56 years of age, he is still considered very young, as the average lifespan of a Belui about 500 years. As is, his body is lithe, and appears as though he is in his early to mid twenties (compared to most other species).


    Abilities: There are three main traits all Belui share. The first of which is being able to close off their nostrils and ear canals (originally used to keep water out). The second ability is being able to hold their breath between half of an hour and 45 minutes. The third most notable ability the Belui share is being able to build up, store, and discharge electricity. This is typically lethal to creatures roughly half their size, but is used to stun creatures from about as big as they are to creatures up to twice as large. While in the water or touching some other form of conductor (generally a ship's metal corridors), a target needs to be in the vicinity to feel the effects of the electricity. Without a conductor, physical contact is needed (usually in the form of a punch, grab, or kick). The electrical ability can be used offensively, defensively, used to power electrical devices, and in some cases as a de-fib. An unintended side effect of this ability is an EM field. The strength of which depends on the charge they currently have. At it's worst it messes with equipment close by to him.


    Weapons: His suit acts as an amplifier for his natural electrical powers, coupled with the gloves, it allows him to essentially shoot lightning from his hands. The type 2 Vector core on the back of his suit can be used to convert Vector energy to electrical energy in lieu of his natural electrical charge (generally used when he holds no charge or large amounts of sustained electricity).


    History: In the universe Ete was born in, there was a war that ravaged the galaxy he and his people called home. They, however were lucky. Being isolationists, the Belui saw very little of the war. As it was, the whole of their entire population inhabited only one system of the countless hundreds that have been colonized.


    Ete himself spent the first 30 some odd years of his life becoming familiar with the technology of his universe. Around this time, like most other pure blooded Belui, his electrical powers began to develop beyond a deterring shock. He would spend the next 10 years of his life training and developing this ability. Near the end of this training, Ete enlisted in his system's defense force. He was trained to be a pilot for a fighter on one of the support carriers in the Belui fleet, the Feigning Dusk.


    It was during his eighth year of service that things took a turn for the worst. Throughout the whole of the war, the Belui remained hidden, and out of it. Every now and then, however, a Selkisian scout ship would discover their system, but would be destroyed before it could report the location. During the latest incursion, a scout ship came out of compressed space in the vicinity of the Feigning Dusk. Fighters were launched immediately. The scout ship was small and vulnerable, not equipped to deal with a swarm of fighters. Ete and his wingman were able to disable it's communications as the scout's multiple weapons platforms struggled to shoot down the hundreds of fighters attacking it like a swarm of killer bees. After nearly five minutes of concentrated attacks, the scout ship began to split apart at the bow. While this is something not yet seen in any theatre of the war, it was clear that it was becoming a larger weapon platform akin to that of a heavy cruiser. It's weapon began to visibly charge, and after a few seconds, it fired a tactical pulse. This effectively wiped out the squadrons of fighters, although with the damage it already suffered, this pulse seemed to damage it as well. With some damage suffered from the pulse as well, the threat neutralized, and nearly all it's fighters destroyed, the Feigning Dusk also withdrew. Ete's fighter, however was not destroyed, although it was heavily damaged. The pulse sent his fighter hurling through space, and in the initial shock-wave, he hit his head hard against the controls. He was only just able see the carrier leave before slipping unconscious.


    It was a little over a day of drifting in space when he was rescued by the crew of the Endless Journey. With heavy damage and no room on the ship, only Ete and the suit he was wearing was brought board. He would stay that way for about a week before finally coming around in their med bay. Upon inspection of himself, broken thoughts, and a few other out of character moments, Ete realized during a moment of clarity that he had contracted a debilitating, non contagious disease, known in his universe as Vektrahemostasis, undoubtably from a breach in containment from his fighter's power-core. The most notable symptom of which was the glowing blue specks in his eyes.


    Because of the exoticness of the ship and it's crew and the fact that they saved his life, Ete pledged his life to them. Over the next few years, he helped out where he could, although he remained very aloof. Often times he could be found sleeping on either the power-core or drive-core, claiming "It hummed a lullaby that I obliged myself to listen to it's song." An effect of his disease, he often would go through (and still does) odd mood swings, lending towards sometimes erratic behavior.


    Early on during his travels with the crew, he earned the nickname 'Tesla'. This is because when he is charged, electricity would visibly jump between the rods on his back.

    Ooh, interesting character. It reminds me though that Turin can also close his nose and ear slits, though his species developed that trait for defence against sandstorms. He can also survive without water for over a month if his 'sack' (I really need to come up with a better word for that) is full, and it gets filled by him consuming liquids.

    Just a grammatical note, Shade, but you might want to use 'single apostrophes' to denote when you mean to air-quote it or something similar, and double for speech. So when you said "Blinking", the AI turned etc, it looked a bit like he'd just said "Blinking". If you had said 'Blinking', then we'd have been able to tell easier what you meant
