Gearbox seem to be getting around these days. Borderlands, Duke, Brothers in Arms: Furious Four, and this. They certainly are maturing as a studio. It could be a cool game, maybe make up for the less than spectacular AvP reboot.

Let's hope...
I'm a big fan of the Aliens/Predator universe. What was released with the last AvP game was a complete joke. Maybe, and hopefully, Gearbox won't let us down this time.

BY the looks of the footage I've seen on youtube it looks like it'll be quite the Aliens game. Seems like they're treating the series with the respect it deserves. Lots of people love it, and it is very easy to mess something like this up. We'll see how it works out though.
Hm, it looks like a diamond in the rough to me. The fact that they call it "work in progress" is encouraging, but it depends on what they're still working on. The blood effects and reload graphics/sounds are pretty laughable, but compared to a lot of the rest of that footage I would imagine that they're placeholders. It looks like it has a lot of very scripted events, which always annoy me. No matter how many allies you have fighting with you, it's effectively you against all of the enemies, because your allies will be killed off in highly visual ways which look cool (like the guy in the walker/robot suit thing) but just mean that you can't strategically take down the aliens to improve your chances. However, if I am wrong, and you can, for example, shoot the aliens off of his walker to save him and have him continue fighting, then I will graciously accept defeat. The potential is there, I just hope they don't get lazy with it.

I've heard some good things about the game, which I'm hoping remain in the final product.
The lack of a HUD...having to glance at the ammo counter or bring up the motion tracker (so you have to choose if you want situational awareness.....or a pulse rifle).
Also, for the first time in an Aliens game, your pulse rifle finally gets iron sights.
Scripted events have their place, certainly. But it stands to reason that if you're a Soldier...a Corporal (as these game protagonists usually are unless they're Privates) then you should beable to tell your NPC squadmates to do things.
We've only seen a little sliver of the game so far. I suspect that we're going to see a much more polished build of it at this year's E3. Maybe then we'll get more details about whether you have some control over the rest of the squad. It would make sense to at least be able to tell them to hold position or fall back or whatever. Relying on AI to figure that stuff out usually leads to things going horribly wrong.
And of course A.I. deciding that walking into your gunfire is a particularly clever thing to do. Then bawling you out when they wind up, invariably getting shot.
