Hello everyone. My name is Val, and I actually joined the forum some time ago but I don't think I ever really... yanno... did anything before something shiny pulled my attention away. But I'm back now!

To be perfectly frank what I hope to find here is a source of decent furry role play. I have a terminal condition called "life" that keeps me from being an active member of most MMO's or any graphic RP communities, and I've come to find that forum role play is most conducive to my style and my schedule. I've poked around a bit here and y'all seem like the kind of folks I'd be willing to spend some pretend time with.

What? Fursona? But I showered this morning I swear!

Oh! That. Yes, well that's a bit of a complicated question for me.

My main haunt before I came across this site (again) was Furcadia. It was the perfect blend of graphic interaction with 99% text-based role play. I played there for many years, but an unfortunate side effect of that is that in that time I created a cast of characters that are very dear to me. All of them are "me" in one form or another, some created for certain stories or situations, others archetypes or aspects of myself that took on a life of their own. They range from youth to maturity, mundane to fantastic, and in species from feline to equine to velociraptor.

If anything I'm "Master Hand" from Smash Brothers. Not a character per se, but the puppet master behind the pantheon. I like to craft my characters to fit the story, not build my characters and then try to foist them into someone else's world. I don't know if it's common practice here for someone to not really have a set "self" character, but for now I'll stick with just being Val. Nice to meet you. Please don't hurt me.

So that's me in a verbose nutshell. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to being a part of this site!

Well heya Its always glad to see a new face! As far as roleplaying goes I'm sure we can get your squared away in a game you would enjoy. It sounds like you have a lot of interesting characters to work with too! As long as you don't pull some of the Master Hand Trickery (I cursed that fight in the original Bros. Or rather I would have if I wasn't 7 or 8 ) it should all be cool!

Welcome! Nice to see a new (/returning) face! I think a lot will have changed since you first joined, judging on the date, so I should probably let you know that I am the forum Admin. We have an FAQ and Help section for new members, which at the moment only has the one topic, but maybe it will be of use to you.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask, and otherwise get stuck in whenever you feel you're ready

We're very flexible on that, and I would actually go as far as saying we don't even have a majority of members on any side; some people here have no fursonas whatsoever, some (such as myself) have fursonas only in name only, occasionally referring to ourselves as our fursona species. Some members have set fursonas which they RP as, and others have set fursonas without even using the RP section.
I would say, though, that most RPs ask for characters to be created around the universe, as opposed to the other way around, so either having a large selection of characters or being good at creating new ones on the spot will see you well here

I'm the Roleplay mod for this site, so if you have any questions feel free to ask me, i'll normally be able to get back to you within 12 hours or so. Then again my schedule has been getting tighter as of late but I think I can stick to that timeline.

Also you'll see that I have RP two universes. (One largely player made, the other not) sitting around the forum. Soon i'll have a summery of condensed information for the two universes that I will post on the forum. (Should be within the next few days) Should make it easier to build characters (And nations) to the fit the universe. Also feel free to make your own RP.

It's not polite to make a lady feel old, Dusty! Though truth be told I wasn't much older and have only really played the latest one a few times. That I recall. Word of advice: Smash Brothers drinking games are a terrible idea.

Good to hear, actually. One of the downsides to Furcadia was that a good deal of players had their one character that was so deeply tied into their egos (weather they admit it or not) that they were very inflexible. What resulted was some very ill-fitting characters, like mecha-dragon-alien-gods trying to fit in a noir gangster roleplay. That seldom ended well for anyone.

Yes, and in that way Master Hand and I are very similar.

Your looking for The Cargo Bay That's the OOC discussion area. In it there's a subboard called the Airlock cycle where you can post your interest checks and/or sign ups.

Anyway I have you linked to the Open member RP board, and the Sins board along with the Cargo bay and the Airlock. The Open Member Board for everyone who wishes to make an RP. The Sins board is my personal universes because they tend to cluster up the open member board so they are put in a special place. Though With the Age of Rebirth universe anyone who has joined the Universe Will be able to make an Age of Rebirth based RP. Any direct questions and such can be asked directly to me via PM.
