Hello, um... this feels weird. I've been lurking around the net for so long I honestly don't know what to say to properly introduce myself. Well... I'll start with the basics then.


I have been gravitating towards furry fandom for a long time (albeit slowly) and towards SF even longer and I'm your basic SF, computer games and whatnot, geek (smooth, now I'll be loved by all for sure). So when I heard about a place where SF and furry were spliced together I thought... sweet! Immediately followed by the realization that a) I probably wouldn't have much to say and b) even if I did I would probably butcher the English language so bad that it would turn late William Shakespeare into a powerful dynamo (you know, spinning in his grave... yeah not funny...). Plus I'm quite shy and the vastness of the net is not helping. So I decided to lurk the forum from time to time. Then for no apparent reason I decided “What the hell! I'll try to interact with those scary internet persons, and make them suffer with my poor, central European, language skills and my shenanigans!” Plus this RP thing is kinda interesting. And that's it. Yay! (I like to write a lot, sorry.)



So, that's me. Hope I won't be eaten alive.

First off I'd like to wish you welcome to the forums! It's always nice to see new folks come and join in on the fun. We're still a small community, but as more folks like you come on board, soon our plans for World Domination will begin to take shape... Er, I said that out loud, didn't I?... Erm well, nevermind that for now...

As for your English skills, frankly they're better than you think they are. You write very well, so don't worry about that part. I think we'll all be able to understand you.

And as Rys said, we're all geeks at heart. Scifi tends to appeal more to the computer and computer and video game crowd, so you'll find that a lot of us share that same interest with you.

The warm welcome actually made me feel warm and fuzzy inside, whew! It's a relief. I am always nervous posting something on the net. The possibilities for an misunderstanding are endless, and oh so hilarious (when your eyebrows finally decide to grow back after a flame war). That is why I tend to stick to the shadows and observe, mmm... yes... Ekhm...
Wait? World domin... Do I have to buy a white cat? Hope it's not compulsory, my flat is awfully small. I have a terrapin though, could paint it white, although I doubt it would have the same impact... hmm...


In all seriousness though I would try my best not to shy away from here, and maybe even give RP-ing a chance (a few pointers where to start and how not to make an ass of myself would be much appreciated. Not that I have something against asses, they are quite delight full creatures I'm sure... okay I shut up now...). We will see what we will see.

Welcome Terrapun! First off let me assure you that your English is delightful! Anyone who is able to make puns and relevant cultural references in another language has absolutely nothing to worry about. Besides, you're not the first, and I hope not the last, member who doesn't speak English as a first language.

This is usually the point where I would say "If you have any questions or problems, feel free to contact me". Unfortunately I'm going away for two weeks, so I'd direct you towards Daryn, Dusty and Nelle, who with me make up our main staff. As for pointers on RPing, I'm planning to have a topic for beginners to teach the basics, but haven't written it yet. I'll have to remember to get one done when I get back. Until then Dusty and Nelle specify in RPs, so they should be your first ports of call.
