Network Wars (OOC: Interest check)

For those of you who do not know, me and my friend Violinist have been engineering an Rp universe of gargantuan proportions called the Network Wars. Involving Network, a super-computing entity of semi-biological crystal processors hellbent on consuming everything in the universe in it's search for the "Perfect Lifeform" an ideology instilled into it by the valiant resistance of the Aeterian Empire five million years earlier. Now this universe is immensly Rp friendly, but no matter how strong one is there is no way to defeat Network in singular warfare, it ate a galactic spiral arm after all... So it has plenty of resources! I may explain more if there is particular interest, right now it's very rough. So feel free to ask and sumsuch o.o

I would like to say I'd be interested in this, but I'm afraid I'm too busy to join it just now. The reason my own RP won't be starting for a while, and that there hasn't been any XAP for quite a while (though I'm working on the latter).
So yeah, just want to say it's a nice concept. Best of luck with it, and come mid-December if you're still open I might join in!

It sounds interesting. I guess I could give something like that a try, but I am completely green so I will probably end up watching everything from the side lines.

The concept is fairly simple. Network: a galaxy consuming semi-biological super-computing entity is an enemy to all independant races though it may not show it. It is both cunning, ruthless and utterly amoral, a natural sociopath with no regard for your life. It'll slit your throat then apologize for the stains on your sheet while you bleed out. Every nation in this rp may or may not have had an encounter with Network, those who have will realize that it's possible to win every battle with Network if you're advanced enough, something like 21st century earth is not sufficient unless you possess a relatively well funded space-defense program. But the war is ultimately lost, seeing as how Network can easily afford to wait you to death. That's why cooperation will be heavy in this rp, though I expect some races will be cocky, though that will only get them into trouble. The idea is still fresh, and don't be afraid to get creative, the tech level in this rp is rather high but avoid too much use of things like wormholes, it sort of degrades it´s value if everyone uses it, I'd prefer if you come up with inventive ways of traversing hyperspace, though if you're not very creative you can use a pre-existing concept. Just a suggestion, not a rule. I will provide more data at a relevant time when my laptop returns to me from death... Talk to you all soon! And thanks for showing interest!

Sounds kinda like Brainiac from DC comics, and Clue from Tron. Still, I like how it is meant to bring every one together in the rp, and allows players to have immense power with out it really being worth anything. I love the idea that no mater how powerful a person it, is amounts to nothing in the grand scheme of things. Personally powerful characters are incredibly dull to me with out having something included that is obviously capable of whooping them silly. For that purpose I don't mind and some times enjoy powerful antagonists if they are used in the story well. I never want to feel hopeless or degraded for example.
