Happy Anniversary to Al Alcorn's Pong. Today in 1972 the first Pong test unit went on location. It certainly wasn't the first game, but it was the first to gain widespread popularity. I do not think the game industry would be anywhere near where it is now if Pong hadn't caught fire all those years ago.



So Blip and Bloop to you too Pong, we salute you!

There is something oddly compelling about Pong. I don't know what it is, but even after all these years it's still fun. Granted Pong came along before I was born, but when I got into Retro Gaming Pong was one of those games you have to play, and I'm glad I did.

Me neither, but Retro Gaming is big these days, and on occasion I will indulge and pick up an old system or game that I couldn't afford back then, since I was a kid and had no income. I just wish that some of this stuff was more affordable.
