New Defense Grid Update!

Well, I've been waiting for this for a long time, and it seems like now Hidden Path has finally released the first part of the update for Defense Grid.



Along with that, we're also going to get some new maps telling what looks to be an origin story. They started this during the ARG in April, but now it looks like they're fleshing it out and finishing it.



Really looking forward to the new maps, but the new modes are already pretty damned cool.

Darn you, bird! I was up until 2:00am playing this last night!

The update has made some radically cool changes to the game, though, for sure!

Here's to looking forward to more from Hidden Path. They've got themselves quite the little dynamo with Defense Grid!

Looks like the date and price for the new maps has been revealed. The map pack will be released on Steam and on Xbox Live on December 7th. It will cost $5 or 400 Microsoft Points. Can't wait, I'm going to pick this up immediately.

GLaDOS is invading Defense Grid. New dialog from both Ellen McClain (GLaDOS) and Jim Ward (Fletcher AI) for this one.

According to a post on the Steam forums, these new maps took them roughly twice as long to develop as Resurgance did, which means we can expect some crazy gameplay twists.

I know Rick isn't a Portal fan, so this theme might not appeal, but new maps is new maps.

Ooh, this all looks cool! I'll have to check out the free expansion when I have the time, although not sure about buying the new maps when I've not finished all of the current ones yet. I assume it'll update automatically on Steam?

It will. If your Steam Client is online it will probably have already done so.
