Yep, that we are!

Everybody has doubtlessly noticed by now that we have been making a lot of radical changes to the site's graphical layout. I know that things seem to have somewhat stalled over the last couple of weeks - a couple of graphics just sort of sitting there with no function, and so on.

But let me assure everyone, we have only stalled in the making of the new layout. We have not stopped, not by any stretch of the imagination. We've stalled due to us having our lives consumed for a while by work and school and other pressing concerns, but we've not stopped, leaving a bunch of stuff unfinished to never be picked back up again.

In fact, I just finished corresponding with an artist who is doing custom graphics for us. We have several pictures in the works, that when finished, promise to add a whole new dimension to scififur.net all together.

Which... brings me to the reason, overall, of writing this note.

Another of the reasons the design has slowed down, is it is costing money. And quite a bit of it. Before the site is finished, I am looking at paying well over $1000 for new materials for the site.

I've not asked anyone to help me pay for any of this, least of all, our staff. SliceofDog, Daryn and Dusty are all putting time into the site's revamp. But this is where you, our members, might be able to come in.

Within the last week, some of you may have noticed that a new "Donate" button has appeared on the lower left of the front page of the site. I asked Daryn to put this here for us, so if anybody would like to help, they'd have an easy means to do so. All you gotta do is click on the button (you need a Paypal account), fill in the amount you want to give, and then send it. The money will be automatically sent to my Paypal account.

Easy as pie.

Either way, I am not going to need the money in order to finish the projects that we have in the works, but a little extra money here and there would sure go a long way in helping, and helping speed the project up a little. So help out, please, if you can. If not, sit back and enjoy the changes to come!

Just an update to point out what you will all doubtless have noticed already, but site graphics changes continue. Enjoy our brand new and spiffy larger sized banners (or don't, but please tell us if you don't. We're not mind readers, but we are open to suggestions and con-crit!) among other tweaks.

I will assure you that changes have not finished yet, so don't worry if some things don't work. But please do tell us if you're not happy with anything we're adding in. We'd rather hear it now than after we think we've finished.

That said, we're pretty confident that you'll all love the end result. Thanks for your patience, and continue to enjoy what SciFiFur has to offer!
