To counter the eye rolling trailer that Dusty posted the other day, I give you the first official trailer for Ridley Scott's Prometheus. I think you will like what you see, and partial faith in cinema can be restored.

Wow, to be honest the first thing that strikes me about that is the very 90s feel of the trailer. Second is the how annoyingly distracting the title is at the start. Other than that though, yes, this certainly looks a whole world better than Battleships XD

Have you noticed the trailer has been make to mimic the original trailer for Alien in 1979 in many ways, from the tittle letters to the scream sound effect?



-Title letters taking shape slowly.
-Alien landscape.
-Scream sound effect.
-Series of fast cuts showing spacesuits, woman running througth corridors/tunnels, face being attacked by unknown thing, people coming out of sleep chambers, alien spaceship/structure, some more running, computer graphics showing planets and orbits, flamethrower being used, closeup of distressed woman face... (order may differ but all elements are in both trailers)
-Alien planet vista.
-Tagline appears.

I hadn't thought about that. Now that you point it out and post the original Alien trailer, I can see that it's almost the exact same trailer. It does sort of bode well for it, in a way.
