Default Star Trek Online goes Free to Play

It looks like Star Trek Online has gone Free to Play. There seems to be quite a bit you can do without having to shell out any money, but there is obviously a premium tier of game as well. There's a trailer for it here:

It does look like a pretty game. Anyone interested in trying it?

Eh, I tried it a year or so ago. The overall map is surprisingly small, the missions and combat feel repetitive without giving you quite enough reward for success, and the ship-to-ship combat feels kind of slow and bulky compared to other ship-to-ship games I've tried.

Since it's free I might give it another go, but I stopped paying money for this game for a reason.

Yeah, I'm sure a lot of people quit at one point. But a lot can change in a year in an MMO. I like the premise, and the world of Star Trek will always hold some sway for me, so maybe this'll be something I can get into, provided the interface doesn't rely on text that's too small for me.

I used to play that too. Were I not spread so thin between games already, I would hop right back in knowing there is a free to play option.

I subscribed to it for one month back in 2010, when the early access for previous captains thing came around (early Jan of this year), I tried it again, it has improved MASSIVELY since launch, and I highly recommend it to Star Trek fans.
