Well, it is certainly interesting. A completely new concept on space stations to be said, for sure.

I didn't think it was that new

Looks good, and I'd agree. Nice, individual design, I haven't seen stuff like that before. Looking forward to the podcast :p

Re: The Heliotrope Unveiled!
Time travel and large artificial objects in space, I like it!
And the render is pretty cool too... Wish I could draw space scenes as good as Jutland, but eh, I'm getting there =P

@Slate: Read carefully though Slate, the Actuality Engine does not permit actual travel as far as the crew know it just permits limited communication.
@Slice and Rick: I still can't believe you two have never read of any structures like this before in science fiction, frankly dyson spheres are even more impressive if impractical.

Well, I've heard of Dyson Spheres, but that's not quite the mental image I have of them. Pandora's Star had them described a bit differently, so that's maybe why we didn't recognize them.

The Heliotrope is NOT a dyson sphere, I was just saying that there are more fantastic structures in weird fiction and the reaction to this structure of it being original was unexpected

Maybe, but that doesn't change the fact that it looks really cool, original or not.

Well that's all Jutland's work I suppose not mine.

Oh, I read and understood the first time =P
Keep in mind, I never made any mention of sending objects back in time, just time travel.

Re: The Heliotrope Unveiled!
@Slate: Heh heh yeah I was just pointing out how technically this isn't time travel just time... communication or otherwise relaying of information.
Anyway I am glad people seem to like it, the Heliotrope gradually evolved over time and Jutland's work especially is to be commended. Though I still don't get why so many haven't seen something like this before though, I understood this kind of thing to be quite common in written science fiction at any rate, then again I am inspired by Homeworld's monoliths too...
Edit: Next up is the Deimos Corporation

Hehe, maybe I should have just said Reverse Temporal Communication =P
Also, I don't remember when or where, but I have seen a few things similar.
