Scififur.net Has New Director

Hi, folks.

As of today (01-26-2010) I am stepping down as Director of Scififur.net. My chief reasons for doing so are that I am just too busy to be able to devote the time to the forums that they deserve.

As some of you may know, I am The Barefootstallion, owner of Barefootstallion Productions - which is a private organization that owns and operates two forum websites. I am planning to expand the frontiers of this organization with more websites. In order to be able to devote the necessary time to these future endeavors, I need to focus most if not all of my attention on them.

So then, I have asked Daryn to step up and assume my position on Scififur.net. Daryn has been with me in web design for about fifteen years. He and I share very similar philosophies in forum management and he is a super nice guy - a perfect candidate for running a forum such as ours. So please join me in a warm welcome for Daryn as our new director. I have complete faith in his ability to take up where I leave off, and my every confidence in he seeing Scififur.net into a brilliant and productive future.

Thank you for making my time as Scififur.net's director a pleasant one. I have every belief that you will make Daryn's tenure as our director just as enjoyable.

Thanks everyone for the welcome. I'll do my best to help make this place the spot for furs interested in scifi and fantasy. It's really nice to know that people do enjoy these forums.

Oh, and Rick isn't leaving, he'll pop in when he can, but he's gotten really busy with RL work.

When I can. Like... 1800-mile runs to get done in three days...? Oi!

And on top of that, I have to do a DOT-required Sleep Studies test (a new law for truckers with neck sizes over a certain size - to make sure we don't have Sleep Apnea). That'll take three or four days at least. And then it is back to work, with more runs like 1800-milers to get done in three days. I am one of the few guys in my company who can get runs like those done without making them late, so I seem to get a lot of them.

A whole lot of them.

Not that I am complaining. They're good money and they keep the bills paid. But geesh, when does a guy get time to do stuff he likes? Well, there is audiobooks, isn't there?

But seriously, Daryn has my every confidence. He and I are on the phone every day, too, so I am still around - if from the shadows more than I am actually here. I answer PMs, too, if anybody has any questions for me.

But yeah, pony is just way busy. And I was truthful about other websites, too. I am in talks with other friends about a whole new forum website planned for our fandom in the near future. When we get going with that, it will be taking almost every scrap of free time I have.

But I am around, if no where near as much as I was before.

I see I'm rather late, but I'll say it anyway. Congrats, and kandosii, Daryn. I'm proud of you. I'm sad about why you're there, but hey, at least we're not mass chaos. xD Anyway, best of luck to both you and Rick, as I see he's going to be having a lot of work, and I really hope he does alright.
