And so it looms...
*To look out over the horizon today, one would see naught but the darkness and fire, mixing far in the distance as the Cross's soldiers fight another rebel uprising... but this one is far more organized then those in the past, it has gone from a simple skirmish to an all out war. The Cross is shuddering, the great religious military nation starting to crumble as people see past the simple illusions woven by the Paladin General to keep the public together... Some would say the world is better this way, the justice system is fair and everyday life is near utopia. The public is starting to slowly realize all that they could be, that they could advance further... But word of deployment of special shock troopers is spreading, rumors abounding about the "Zero Souls", soulless monsters made through atrocities, torture, and mind control, dark, twisted parodies of assassins, and against everything the Cross represents itself as. Today you stand at the brink of a new world, one that can be united under the banner of The Cross or scattered on the wind. the choice presents itself: What will you do?*

A few things I would recommend before starting this, if you plan to to have this RP run smoothly.
A. Make an introduction and introduce yourself to the wider forums.
You can do this here. : The Exordium (Introductions) - SciFiFur.net Community Forums
B. Once you make and introduction use the Airlock to make an Attention grabbing topic to generate interest.

Re: And so it looms...
History, how would history view us? An excellent question, but that answer changes depending on who is writing history, and history…history is written by the victors. The Cross is most powerful military force in the history of Terra, and yet its hold to that title is crumbling. Sure it matters who has the biggest stick, but it matters a hell of lot more who’s swinging it. This brings up another question, which side has the biggest stick... –Loki’s Journal six months ago. (Thank you MW2 for this opening)
Loki was sitting on the top floor of a high rise in a city far away from the city had fallen to the rebels. She sat in a chair with a few centimeters of her two and half meter long “Marduke” Sniper Rifle sitting on the window. She had her eyes down the scope of her rifle watching the Sky Cross. She had gotten word that one of the one of the high ranking Bishops of the Church was making a visit to the tower, though her window of opportunity was short. Her planning of the of this met that she would only have thirteen seconds to thread the needle once he exited his transport craft.
The collie herself was dressed fairly modestly, though quite oddly. She was wearing a black leather duster which only hovered a few centimeters above the ground when she was walking. Her pants where a simple black matte cotton, and under her duster she wore a black undershirt, which clashed with her white chest fur.
She was at the moment nine kilometers from her target which meant that she her lethal package had just less than one second of travel time. Something she had factored into her calculations while planning this little game she was playing. As she looked down the scope, it was at this moment that she realized, this was to be the first domino in a series of event that would happen, weather they happen as she wishes them to would be completely up to luck. She turned on the viewer, this arrival was covered live which meant that her achievement or failure would be recorded far into the future. She saw the feline walk into her scope, “History is written by the victor, and so what will you be called?” She said as she pulled the trigger. The Aluminum jacketed DU hyper sonic round caused a massive sonic boom as it accelerated out of the barrel to eleven kilometers per second, the recoil was damped by the rifle itself so it didn’t send her flying into the nearby wall. On the screen she saw the Bishops head explode…

*Vexx smiles, watching the screen. Loki had been doing well lately, that was the second high ranked Cross liar she had blown away this month... She was certainly due for prormotion.*
*Hara recieves a report of the happening, almost as it occurs* Damnit... second one this month. we need to start sending Archons with them... *he hits a button on the mech he's driving, connecting to the archbishop*
"We're doing it. Deploy the Archons with the Bishops from now on."
*The Archbishop smiles, revealing his long row of teeth* Yes, Paladin-General.
*He hits a button and connects to the barracks, the Archons are deployed to each Bishop*

Re: And so it looms...
The information of this world is corrupt, and those that live under it are completely blind to it, and of course on the surface everything looks fine. It’s when you dig deeper that things start to unravel. But they stop you before you get too far…normally. Still, if one understands the systems, the protocols, and it helps if you actually made contact with the black servers you can find the truth. Though they say some things should stay buried. Of course, they also say that following this path is only taken by the insane, and those that aren’t will be driven mad in the quest for the information. I don’t know if I’m insane or teetering on the brink. – Loki’s Journal
The Marduke was an unwieldy weapon meaning that its only purpose was for sniping targets at a distance which is what it excelled at, though Loki couldn’t stay where she was, she needed to leave the city. She had no doubt that the forces of the city where running their calculations and simulations to locate the origin of where the round had been fired from. Though this she had already planned for, though she had something she wanted to execute before she left the city, though it wasn’t a person. From her wrist computer she typed a few commands in which activated a wireless leech, the leech itself was nothing more than a signal transmitter, which pumped a single message over the public network on a loop.
The Message read: “The Mistress of Death follows those that spread false truths and call it dogma. Those that lie and pretend to be holy and those that protect the hypocrisy shall meet the fury of the Mistress…”
It was with that she began the short disassembly of her rifle; the high rise she was in was next to an abandoned warehouse. The warehouse which had been her base of operations for the last two weeks that she had been in the city, it was only today that she left that warehouse for her mission, and now it was time to leave the city though she merely couldn't walk out the front door. She packed her Marduke rifle in its protective case which she hung over her shoulder via a strap before making her way to the fire escape on the far side of the building. It was from here she climbed down the fire escape to the side walk below, which was empty at the moment. She could feel the sense of shock that was emanating from the city along with a slow burning rage and a hint of confusion from the repeating message that was being broadcast all over the nation.
It took here only a few moments to reach the warehouse; too much sensitive data was locked in the data drives of the computers in the warehouse for them to be left intact. She opened the large metal door to one of the ramps that led into the warehouse itself, but she only opened it enough so that she bend under the door, which promptly shut behind her. For the moment the warehouse was empty and devoid of life, she came to do this mission alone, and she was going to leave alone. It took her a few moments to reach the office center of the warehouse on the second floor where a small egg shaped device laid. It was a small EMP generator which would render all the data and computer devices in the office completely worthless. Before activating the device she copied all the data she had made of the event, a total of twelve terabytes data from which she uploaded to a small portable drive that she carried before activating the timer on the EMP charge. It was set for ten minutes. Best part of all was that the device was hidden as desk decoration with no visible external timer, or external workings that signaled it to be a destructive device, or even a low powered one.
It was after she left the office that timer begin its silent count down, as a redundancy a virus that she had planted in the computers began to eat through the loads of data stored on it. She was nearly half a kilometer away from the building once the egg detonated…
She made her way to the elevated train station on the edge of the city, while she couldn't board the train the regular way she was going to get on the train the same way she got on the train when she entered the city. Through the roof, she landed on the top of the train as it pulled into the station for a stop and realized that it was the same one from two weeks ago. This meant that her entrance point was the same as it was the last time she was on the this train, making her job much easier than it was the first time as she knew exactly what would work. She jumped on the train roof, as the train began to move, it was the last car on the tracks meaning that if she wanted to she could merely hitch a ride on the outside of the train for the rest of her journey to the nearby city in she was to supposed to report to.

Re: And so it looms...
*Vexx sits in his seat in the Mech...* sigh... we smash away all we can, all he does is put up a new peice of propaganda... and the fight begins anew. He has every recruit he needs, we fight for every one. He has unlimited technology, power, and resources... We simply don't.But in the end we'll be victorious, because we're right, we're strong, and we know the truth. We will win this war, and the tyranny will end. *puts the key in the ignition* Every time, he has crushed us. *The mech roars to life* But today, something is different. *It stands up, weapons spinning up and activating in a roar of machinery* Today, it starts. *pushes the throttle forward, the mech pacing slowly forward* And soon it ends. *Slams the throttle to full, the mech racing overland towards the city they have taken* This fight will be over and I will be the one to stop it.
*Hara walks slowly along his patrol path for the day* Wow. Slow today. Was hoping I'd see some action... I may be the Paladin-General, but damn, it's boring. *gently lifts the heavy cross around his neck* *Sigh* today's the anniversary. He left, he left and lost it all. He could have been after me, I was gonna retire... but for whatever goddamned reason, he left and lost it all! *Sighs* Brother... where are you today?

The complete and utter ineptitude of our people’s compassion is outstanding, once the death toll exceeds a few dozen, compassion doesn’t dull it simply stops it doesn't even register, might shock you but it will not draw empathy. Of course when you’re the cause of the massacre, or you had a hand in it, you are taken back in awe of the power you commanded… - Loki’s Journal
She ditched the train as it reached the midpoint of its Journey; she fell on to the hard bed rock. This area was a natural desert which meant it was a clear view for miles. She rolled to a stop on the bed rock near a vehicle she had ordered to be moved into position a few days ago as she wasn’t going to use the train to reach her next location. The vehicle itself was a craft made for the desert though an older wheeled buggy. As she entered the small craft she placed her disassembled Marduke rifle next to a bag that was sitting in the back seat. It took her only a moment to remember that she had asked them to pack her thirty days worth of supplies even though the trip would take her a day, her next target was in a desert local. And she preferred to work alone, though she was going to have company.
Loki sat in the driver’s seat of the buggy as she pulled popped the clutch of the buggy which caused it to spring to life with a dull purr. “What ever happened to the combustion engines, at least they sounded like they had some power to them.” She said with a sigh as she shifted gears causing the buggy to take off across the barren wasteland. The wasteland was a natural feature of the area and one she liked. She herself felt at home in the wastelands of the world, few as they may be, it made her feel that she was in a place that she could connect with. Though her sense of belonging would not last, the rebel city that had been taken was in a much lusher and forested area, the place she hated the most. The forest made her think of the rest of the world and she was not found of forests, but she reasoned that it fit with her past.
Loki never really fit anywhere, or with anyone for that matter. She had a few friends, people like herself, but they soon left for other cities, or where taking by the Cross. She of course paid lip service to the Cross whenever she had to but never felt any connection to it. And even when she joined the Cross voluntarily so she could learn the art of marksmanship, she never realized that she would become a master of the art, or even more of outcast. Becoming one of the best Snipers in the battalion she served in. It was that level of skill, that let her commanders overlook her deviant behavior, though it was because of this she was alienated from her peers. Though that was only her own theory on the matter. She was able to show off her skill during a tournament, in which the Paladin-General over saw. It turned out she was the first person to hit a target at ten kilometers, and score a lethal shot. No doubt when they looked over the hit on the Bishop they would realize that there are very few people alive that could make that shot, secondly, she was sure that aside from her, most of them where members of the Cross military.
The drive in the wasteland came to an end as she saw the green begin to thicken as she approached the rebel held city. She was saddened to the see the tan expanse of rock and sand disappear, but it was necessary. It was from here that she could see the tree line that hid the lower buildings of the city and where she halted to a stop. She activated her short range radio. “Well, I’m waiting, and you know I dislike forests so you’re going to have to come to me, and I know you can Vexx…”

*Vexx smiled down at the radio* well, then. I know a challenge when I hear it... *Shifts the gears and turns for the forest, the thumping of the artillery platform dulling as he relaxes the gas.*
*To see one of these beasts approaching is enough to put fear of god back into a rebel, although they're generally relieved to see the slight changes in markings that Vexx has made to the mech. It defies several kinds of logic, from not leaving prints until almost top speed to the silence its capable of.*

Re: And so it looms...
War…war never changes. These mecha, these weapons of war created to protect the cross, every one of them mobile arbiters of destruction. And yet they are only in the hands of one military. Only protect one people, and thus they protect nothing, they only cause senseless destruction to where ever they go at the whim of their masters. – Loki’s Journal.
Loki saw the Mecha on her retinal lens, the wireless computer strapped to her fed data to eyes at incredible rates; she could already see where the mecha lay. Whether it was laziness or some other hidden motive she did not contact Vexx immediately. Instead she went into her bag of supples and grabbed a signal flare before mixing the chemicals inside. It started to get hot as she tossed it to the left of her. In the distance purple smoke could be seen rising from the ground in the distance. “Now the question is, am I at the purple smoke?”

Mindgames, huh. Never really took her for the type.... but i suppose she's trying to impress me. *Holds his paw at his sword* for a day on a planet ravaged with war it's awfully nice out today.
