    Solar Divide
    Shining Nebula

    “Aye… Much thanks, I‘m transferring a few extra credits ‘ye way, sir. Call it a tip, then?”
    The gryphon leans down the bartop to recover a plastic drinking straw, to avoid the inevitable mess of trying to drink with a beak. He tucks the straw into the glass and takes a drink, eyes bulging slightly. He coughs once, a broad grin across his face.
    “My friend, this is potent indeed. ‘Fink one might be enough. And aye… I don’t smoke much meself, the scrubbers on ‘me ship won’t handle it. I do like a good--”
    Phelan eyeballs the bawdy creature at the door, the ruff on his neck standing on end and a feral-looking mane of feathers rising in a fashion that indicated that he was either intimidated, or attempting to become intimidating. He casually smoothed the crest back down, still looking a bit rougher than he did when he came in.
    “Wot’s ‘this mate’s problem…? S’ey got a stick up ‘is arse or sommot? Anyway…”

    The creature gingerly digs into the steak, blotting the end of his beak with a nakpin after each bite in an obsessive attempt to remain neat and clean. Worn and stained though his attire was, it did seem as though the creature had something of an air about him… Meticulous. Inspection of the jumpsuit would reveal that most of the darker spots were burn marks or dried stains worked into the fabric itself. His talons were short and chipped, but not a speck of dirt or grime stuck underneath them.
    Obsessive-compulsive, perhaps.
    “Wonderful steak, my friend. ‘Aven’t had one like this in what feels like years.”
    The creature jumped at the soft, subtle click of the piezoelectric lighter just out of his field of view, turning and staring directly in the face of a rather imposing collie with a soft, startled squawk.
    Wark!!I-- Excuse me. To whom do I owe the pleasure?”
    “Ah yes Phelan, name is Carra Sheppard and I have been asked to see if you had grabbed some optical computers from an old derelict in the Tal-Ceti shipyards. My contact knows that you where there last, and my boss would be very interested in purchasing these items from you.”
    “You, ah… Know my name from… Where? …Miz Sheppard…? I… I’m somewhat reluctant to inform you that I gave the computers to a gen-gentleman who rescued me from utter catastrophe when some manner of bio-weapon inside the vessel attempted to consume both me and my own ship. I… I truly wish I could make the sale, though I should also mention that I hadn’t managed to collect all of the com-computers… Just sixtten of maybe thirty. Or forty.”

    Is she really asking about the computers…? If she knows this much about me, maybe she’s from Marlowe’s Rock…
    …This could get ugly.

    Phelan shivers once, unable despite his efforts, to conceal the fact that he feels threatened now. He scratches the right side of his ribcage, letting his talon drop nonchalantly to the grip of the .451-caliber caseless pistol strapped to his right thigh. The weapon’s safety would be on, striker retracted, with a round in the chamber. He leaned up against the bar a bit more closely, taking a small drink from his glass and smiling as politely as he could.

    “Would… You perhaps be interested in ‘aving me recover similar kinds of computers for ‘ye? There’s a nice wee debris field, just spinward off of the Bering nebula. A good number of capital ships destroyed in what I’d guess to be a bloody massive firefight between incompetent morons. Most shipboard systems are still intact but the debris is so thick that nobody can get their ship in. I’ve got… I’ve got one of the old Taurus models, though. I could thread a needle with the bloody thing.”

    He wait’s a moment longer, his demeanor fading again.
    “…this isn’t about the computers, is it…? It’s about the memory banks I also gave to Mr. Cartwright…? Does this ‘ave anything to do with his disappearance over the last few decades? Because… because I really don’t know anything. I swear, I don’t. But… But I’ll help you. I really don’t want to be in any trouble right now.”

    OOC: (Isn't the Red October on plate 46, and the Godel on 45?)

    Once Ozzy finishes setting up his advertisements, he feels his stomach rumble. "Oog. Being in space for months doesn't make you enjoy the food any more..." He asks ∑π for directions to the nearest food place, and settles on the Shining Nebula, because that's apparently the only place the plot goes to.

    He enters that place, and finds himself a place to sit.

    (lol, Loin.)

    "Agh... what's the kabrone gotten himself into now... this is gonna be a long day." He returns his hastily prepared possessions to the craft, as carrying them around with him would just be a waste of effort, aside from the hammer - he never parted with it, as its applications from emergency escape to self-defence were too vital in the wilds of the Outer Ring to be without. He thought briefly on the cursory research he did and stray common knowledge about Solar Divide he knew of, and started wandering around the docking area. He knew vaguely of a vessel known as the Red October, and that it was of great importance to the station's affairs, so he figured it would make sense to start looking for Sleipnir there.

    He kept following the plate numbers down the bay, 23... 24... 25... some passing idle chatter he had picked up informed him that the vessel was indeed present in the station, but somewhere in the 40-60 bay - a not insubstantial distance from his current location. Checking a few station maps and docking registries as he went, he sighed and kept up his brisk pace, focussed yet irritated, because, as the day was going so far - it just wasn't his.

    Jaxamar hardly moved despite being shoved hard.
    The instant the griffon had stopped speaking, he spoke quietly, stepping up behind them, "Is there a problem here?"
    Sparks shimmered along the surface of his armour as he depressed a control, activating his personal shielding.

    "Uh, yeah...That's the on Goliath" she was a little surprised at the sudden forwardness to find her package, she sighed as it revealed it to be aboard the Red October on platform 46. it had to be one of the platforms with the auto defenses built into the platform itself. "No way I'm touching that platform without the captain disarming that thing, I've seen what those systems can do to someone." she glanced around the empty platform, the captain didn't seem to be anywhere in sight "ya know, I think Mel knows the captain of the Red October, I'll see if I can get him to talk to the captain about disarming those guns...and no hacking it! I know you tapped the systems to find that shipping info, but I don't want pissed off captains coming looking for us after you stumble on something you're not supposed to see!" she scolded him as they started back toward the Shining Nebula

    ~~~~~
    Mel looked up at the commotion by the door as the Dragon made his appearance, Mel rolled his eyes at the show and suppressed a laugh as the collie pushed past without even a second thought "Same as ever I see, eh Carra? I'm sure I've got some fresh fish in recently..." he stopped in front of her and leaned in close as the Avian continued, keeping his voice low as to not interrupt more than was necessary "I'm quite certain though, I asked you to leave" he plucked the cigarette from Carra's lips mid puff " these outside the last time you were here" he said with a sly grin as he glanced down the counter at the newcomer "I'll be with you in just a moment sir!" he looked back to Carra, he knew she'd be pissed to hell about it, many others would've been dead on sight for a move like that, but what fun would it be if he didn't mess with her on occasion "I'll go have a look for those fish of yours---Oi! Knock it off! I won't be having any of that in my bar!" the sizzle of the shield against the air alerted him to the dragons shielding system and show of force "You're spooking my other customers!" he gestured to the rest of the room with the various beings sitting at the various tables and booths "Either shut it down, or take it somewhere else! Sheesh! always you soldier types too..." he muttered as he pushed through the door leading to the back rooms. he poked his head out a few moments later "You're in Luck Carra! we just got a crate of live ones in this morning! I assume you still like White Sailfin?"
    Kaythe nodded sharply as a pain of hunger began to gnaw at her belly, "Fantastic then. Thanks for your help. Your diligence is admirable." commented the Karn with a sway of her lush, well groomed, tail. With that she left the dock workers proximity, taking interest in several a passerby. She would not get far buy poking about so near to her target. There was so much going on in the station though and the hum and bustle was driving her to distraction. Spotting a rather perky fox conversion with what a shallow scan deemed to be a synthetic among the dispersing port populace, the Karnation perked her ears towards them, picking up a small amount of their conversation. In order to clear her mind, Kaythe decided to focus on them for now as a reason to remain in the port a bit longer.
    Her right hand moved to her left for arm, navigating menus only visible through the one way holo visor she wore in her left temple. She raised her implants from passive to active status, creating a low pulse of positive energy that could be picked up buy ai, both partial and synthetic. It was something often used in diplomatic settings to simulate an inviting protocol in ai. She adapted it for her own use to reduce most threat assessment scans and to create an artificial 'social magnet' of sorts. There would be no real effect on organics though. That's what staying well groomed was for. With the friendly signal active, she approached the conversing pair, her memory enhancements accessing past data, "Greetings!" she stated firmly to the fox and synthetic, her voice carrying well, dismissing the conversation she overheard as if it had not occurred, "You look like you mite know you're way about. If you are not too busy I could really use some aid."
    Not being of the station, accessing data on her would only bring up her registered name: Kaythe, and the registered name of her ship: Darian.
    To the organic eye, the fact she was in a fantastically personable mood was plainly evident in her bright gem like eyes and swaying tail.
    A little upset over his new "commander's" dislike for one of his more basic protocols, it took Goliath a moment to register the ping of an invitation protocol. He turned and scanned the Karn quickly, getting a little irritated by the lack of detail on the organic in front of him. He resumed his disguise of a personal assistant, standing stiff as a board to give the illusion he wasn't as able as he truly was.
    Without saying a word, Goliath silently transmitted his scan results to Fang with a small coded message to in turn give the results to Tetra. His visual sensors focused on the Karn, noting that she was well kept, a sign usually associated with the rich and powerful or someone that was after something needing a little persuasion among organics.
    Goliath wondered what the Karn was attempting, noting that Tetra's file had nothing on relationship status. Stepping up beside Tetra in the blocky movement of a personal assistant, Goliath swung his head between the two organics, staying quiet in order not to give away anything.
    The Lion had passed an invisible line that had caused the automated defense turrets around the Red October to activate. Eight belt fed rapid fire Gauss cannons locked onto the intruder as he came closer. These where not active before because of the dock crew coming to off load the package had temporally disabled them, but where now on full alert and tracking the Lion. A holographic projection appeared in front of him, it was the image of a non-anthro white dragon. Dragon at the gate if you will, it was apparent that the captain liked eccentric defenses. “This area is off limits to unauthorized personnel, if your package is on this vessel please notify the Red October’s captain Carra Sheppard, you can find her in the shining nebula. Farther incursion will be met with lethal force.” The Image appeared to sit on the deck plate.
    __
    “God damn it Mel I have beat wholesale ass for less than that, you lucky you make damn good food.” She said as the Dragon from before stepped up behind them, it wasn’t long before she heard the crackling of a shield system which brought a growl to the Collie’s lip. “What is your major malfunction? Stop acting like a damn child and go play in your sand box somewhere the adults are having a conversation here.” On the Collie’s back was four foot long Ark Blade, soldiers knew them affectionately as can openers. These anti-material blades would ignore shielding systems and cut through armor and flesh without a second thought. Ark blades could produce a Plasma coat for six seconds at a time in this mode they would burn through any armor in existence; this "burn" mode had such a short duration because of its small internal high density capacitors. Of course six seconds was more than enough time for someone cut down a single person, something Mel had witnessed personally the last time someone thought that the collie was harmless.
    Though the sword looked slightly comical on the 5’4” frame of the collie as she sat there waiting on the badger. “White Sailfin? Hell yes…” She said as she began playing with her lighter, “We’ll finish our chat Phelan once we lose the Boy Scout.” She said as waited on Mel. The collie was not wearing any armor to speak of; she was wearing a plain red T-Shirt with a black canvas duster with white cotton pants. Her paws had a set of fingerless gloves that seemed to be lined with metal plates as she rested her muzzle on her left paw, closet to her sword's hilt. It was quite possible that there were other weapons hidden inside her duster.
    Jaxamar turned off his shields; there was a distinctive pop as it happened.
    "I am not scared of that can opener," he said bluntly, "But I must warn you that shoving me was a bad move."
    For a brief instant, his irises turned to slits, before returning to normal.
    "I am a Blade Dragon," he continued, in that same tone; it was not threat, merely stating facts. "The next time I am shoved," here he paused and, slowly, and carefully, to show that he was not threatening, he extended the forearm, wrist, shoulder, neck, shin, and head-blades that denoted a Blade Dragon, then retracted them so fast that they seemed to vanish, "You could find yourself... shall we say, not able to pull that can opener off your shoulders?"
    The dragon went to walk off, but stopped, his irises turning to slits again.
    "Something feels off," he said suddenly, a hand dropping to his pistol and his blades extending with a shink, "Out of place..."
    (Note: the Blade Dragons were created out beyond the Terrigen Veil in an early genetic experiment, an attempt to fuse two life forms of radically different origins together, namely dragons and the native Blade Beasts. The result was... not entirely successful, but nor was it a complete failure. The result was a population of viable dragons, which had a genetic aberration that causes them to form natural "calcitranium" blades, which they can extend or retract at will. Their dietary requirements are quite different from a normal dragon, however, requiring several normally useless, if quite common, chemicals in their diet, including several "artificial" additives that occur naturally on the planet of origin of the Blade Beasts.
    On a further note, these sorts of genetic experiments were quickly banned after several devastating plagues were created.)
    After returning from the water Pipes: Aquis treated herself to a Long, hot soapy bath to get the oil out of her fur.
    “Ahh… Much better…” She sighed and relaxed after she got clean. But her relaxation was short lived as she felt her belly grumble and a pang of hunger washed over her.
    “Aww… and I just got settled…” She moaned to herself as she reluctantly got out and towelled herself dry; noticing that she’d used the Conditioner soap again.
    “Drat. Oh well…” She said and got dressed: ignoring to the best of her abilities that the conditioner had reacted with her fur again; which resulted in it being plumped up to about three times as thick as normal; a medical condition she had ever since she was a Fledgelet.
    (OOC: That's actually got a bit of inspiration from me: I can't use conditioner because it makes it go REALLY oily and itchy.)
    “Maybe someone will need a hug or something…” She muttered as she squeezed her overly fluffy body into a simple T-Shirt and making her way to the Shining Nebula Café for something to eat.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    After a long ‘Walk’; Aquis arrived at the café. There was a lot more people in there than she remembered as she took her usual seat in the corner on a large, soft couch next to a small bed-like garden and beckoning over one of the order drones.
    “Tea and chips please.” She said, getting comfy on the couch and looking at the weird and wonderful new faces around the room.

    Ozzy eyes the occupants of the place, pondering how good of subjects they'd be... His stomach growls again, interrupting his thoughts. "Oh what to get..." He eventually decides on a non-alcoholic beverage and a small snack to feed himself. He eats down, making no effort at subtlety.

    Somewhere along the line, Phelan's talons had migrated from the grip of his sidearm to the butt of the massive 20mm scattergun strapped to the side of his pack. He shrank with no large amount of subtlety into the barstool, letting out a soft sigh and letting his face sink into a palm as the dragon gave his speech and then left.

    Is he quite through yet...? I'm afraid I'm going to have to off 'meself if the bloke starts up again...

    The gryphon takes another few bites of steak, finishing off the bulk of the meat and moving on to clearing the marrow from the bone with the point of the knife he was given. Carefully, delicately, and somewhat obsessively. After a moment, he returned his attention to the rather imposing collie seated at his side. She was small, but all the same, he was more intimidated by her than he was by the thuggish dragon.

    "Miz Sheppard, it was? RIght, right... I beg 'ye pardon for 'me asking, but what exactly do you want? I may have something else of interest to 'yer employer. All it is, is the navigational marker buffer log out of the same ship. I didn't think to give it to Mr. Cartwright, though the information stored on the buffer was also stored on the memory core. I... I can imagine this entire situation to be rather... Ah... Inconvenient. then, and I don't even claim to be able to imagine what you or your people want... It's probably none of 'me damn business anyway and I've got no business pokin' 'me beak into it, either, so I won't ask. I promise. I... I really hope I don't 'ave to worry about 'me ship blowing up when I reach a safe distance from the port here, do I...? THis sounds... THis sounds quite important, if 'ye go out of the way to track a garbage-picker like 'meself going about his usual business out in the arse-end of nowhere."

    The creature fidgeted visibly in his seat, waiting anxiously for the response. He took another long drink from his glass, talons trembling just a little bit as he set it down.

    "I'm not in any sort of trouble now... Am I...?"

    He threw another distasteful glance at the dragon, feeling just as unsettled by what appeared to Phelan to be schizoid behavior as he'd felt when he was being threatened.

    Is this mate all there...?

    Whatever there was in the air, Phelan was feeling exactly none of it, given the amount of alcohol in his system.

    His eyes narrowed and he glared at the hologram, grudgingly turning and heading back along the docks. "Just no winning, is there..." Hastily making his way round the station while gradually learning its layout, he passes the Shining Nebula a couple of times before noticing it, first having not seen it and subsequently having not recognised it. Even then he makes another pass without entering, surmising all the possible ways in and out - his experience thusfar in Solar Divide had given him no assurance of security.

    When he deems his analysis complete, he brushes himself off, centres himself and enters casually, making no major deal of his entrance, just making a subtle path to the bar, hopping up on a stool at the very end, and watching the armed soap operas unfold before him, but careful to avoid being drawn into one. He wasn't expecting a barkeep in a hurry, from what he could see, although given the nature of the place, this could just be business as usual.

    Stopping short at the call of the Karn, Greetings? who the hell says 'greetings' anymore? most she knew would just jump up and down either yelling the name or 'HEY!' until they got the attention of the one they sought. granted, she wouldn't resort to that herself, she'd just laugh at them silently, it was actually kind of nice to see someone with a sense of decency left. a small icon appeared before her vision, an effect of her cybernetic right eye, the icon marked incoming data from her four legged companion. it vanished and a set of brackets seemed to appear before her around the Karn, a series of lines appeared off the the right, seeming to her to float in mid air next to her, as though in some old video game reading

    Name: Kaythe
    ]-Ship: Darian
    Status: Traveler
    -No further information is available at this time-

    Ahh...a traveler...that explains itthe visual implant she now used and it's method of displaying data had taken her a few weeks initially to get used to, but now it didn't even get a second glance. "No no, I don't mind at all!" she smiled to the karn "I'd be happy to help!" by now Fang was already circling the Karn, much like he'd done with Goliath, scanning the being beyond what an organic eye would catch, even if they were giving off a 'friendly' signal to the synths. as the mechanical canine took a seat on it's haunches, a series of 'nodes' appeared across the karn's body, letting her know there were implants there. something she's told fang not to do a half dozen times by now...at least he wasn't doing full image scans anymore, that got very awkward on more than one ocassion. a faint growl broke the momentary silence and Fang looked between the two females with a metallic Snicker. "We're just on our way to the Shining Nebula, if I can't get you the information you need, I'm sure as hell Mel can!"
    ~~~~~~
    The smell of the fish that was wafting from the back room was enough to make most beings mouths water, even overtop of all the other delicious smells drifting around the restraunt. Backing out the door carrying at least a few different dishes, one of the serving drones hurried over to him, taking most of them from him and running off into the restraunt to deliver the food "Bon appetit, mon cher" he said as he placed the steamed white sailfin dish before her with an overly elegant bow and a grin, hoping it'd be enough to tak her off edge. as he stood strait and turned to return to the kitchen, the glint of the dragons blades caught his eye. he sighed "oh, would you knock it off and put those things away already? you're sounding like a little british kid in Call of Duty, we have security to deal with 'off feelings'" he gestured to two metal dome shapes placed on the ceiling that had a full view of the resturant.. in an emergency a set of turrets would drop down from them and mainly just threaten the 'problem' to leave peacefully. in truth, they hadn't needed to actually be fired in a couple years now. spotting the additional customer now seated down the bar, he sent another of the serving drones to retrieve his order before ducking in the back to check on dishes already cooking
    Jaxamar slowly retracted his blades, still looking uncomfortable. It was clear that he was fully used to getting up close and personal in the dance that was close-range blade-fighting. The fighting style was colloquially known as the "Dance of Death" among those who had actually seen it. To survive more than a few seconds fighting at close range with a Blade Dragon took extraordinary reflexes and flexibility, since the attacks could come from virtually any direction, and often at lightning speed.
    Jax sat down at the counter, with his back to a wall, and waited patiently to be served, although not without showing his nerves; his fingers drummed against the grip of his pistol.
    "Thank you greatly." She stated as she raised a hand to grasp one of the braids from her mane, "I was told that there was a medical suite here, but by the masters I need some food in me. Convenient your going to Nebula as I heard that's the place for food. Not much on me but id be glad to treat you to something there for the help." She added with a long sway of her tail, dropping her raised hand to her side. Her pants had sagged over her hip and in spite how... showy she could be at times she never liked to be sloppy. She held a sense of honor and pride. Always looking good and doing what she could to do her duties in a respectable manor. She would not be a disgrace to her kind when she may be the only that so many see and she would not let down Dresden if she could help it. He would come first till he died. Following that was his loved ones and interests. After that came all her goals.
    The Karn's eyes narrowed with a hint of suspicion as her gaze passed the synthetic and a mischievous grin tugged at the hidden corner of her lips. Resting her right hand on her belly she splayed her ears back, "Pleas lead on miss..." she paused leaving an opening for the other to insert her name as she stood herself in between the vixen and her 'assistant'. She would speak of her plans to find an organic feral alien companion, what she liked in meals and drinks, and much more but felt it rude to do so with out getting a name first. The pierced left ear twitched, flashing the studs made of the rare ivory. Her fur shrouded them slightly, her clothing and side arm suggesting nothing of great wealth. Kaythe pondered what she could do to make this bright vixens day just a little bit better as she waited buy her side.
    Goliath was a little unnerved and getting antsy. He had stiffened when Kaythe had reached to her waist and was more than ready to be on the move. He adjusted his vocal processor to emit an almost excited teenage voice, "Mistress Tetra, forgive my interuption, but master Mel will be waiting for your return," his head swung towards Kaythe, "you will be joining us then, Miss Kaythe? Splendid, Master Mel is, with respect to competition, one of the best chefs this side of the galaxy."
    Pleasentries out of the way, Goliath pinged Fang. Via rapid burst transmissions, Goliath admired Fang's emotional processing programs, but noted his older hacking programs. He therefore proposed a trade, a copy of his own military grade hacking programs for a copy of Fang's emotional response programs
    “Now that the Boy scout is gone…” She said “we can get down to business, yes my client was interested in the memory stored on those computers, she is going to disappointed that you gave them to mister Cartwright.” She said taking a bite of the fish. “Secondly, I’m sure she is going to want to meet you, I can’t say more because I don’t know more, but i can assure you, your not in trouble.” She gave a small shrug; she seemed over all annoyed, at what she didn’t let on. Her posture was that of someone that was relaxed yet attentive to their surroundings, her posture lose, yet looking at anything and everything that moved. She watched as people entered and exited the establishment. Every now and then her eyes darted to phelan, to Mel, the arrogant dragon that caused her to scowled before she returned to her food. It was a pattern she repeated though in different orders.
    The lighting on the station dropped by twenty percent in non essential, it was entering the “Night Time” cycle of the station. Some areas it would often drop to only ten percent of normal lighting if the area was non-critical to the station, or residential. The Shining Nebula was one such place and the lighting dimmed as well, though the owner was entitled to bring the light back to full at their discretion.
    Phelan's ears lowered a bit. A sheepish look crossed his face at the collie's irritated demeanor, not quite believing that he wasn't in any hot water. He took another drink from his glas, set it down, and with a cough, began to speak again.
    "You say that your benefactor wishes to speak with me. Does... THat mean I've any voice in the matter...?"
    He shrinks into the seat again, looking anxious... Cowed.
    "I don't know what, if anything, that you overheard of 'me conversation with Mr. Mel, but if you know what your employer is looking for, chances are good that you know why, or at least 'summot 'bout 'wot it is that was onboard the ship. Mayhaps 'ye could appreciate that I'm quite rather strung-out recently, because of exactly what else was onboard the ship along with the computers. I'm quite rather in need of some rest and relaxation in a safe place."
    He takes another drink, blinking a few times.
    Maybe being so loose-lipped was a bad thing.
    "I'd be glad to offer up the navigational buffer, for a very, very modest price. Actually, you know 'wot? You tell me what you'll do for it. Name 'ye price, wotever 'ye think is fair. I... I sincerely hope it helps, because I don't think I'm capable of doing so."
    THere was a sinking feeling in the hybrid's gut that told him that he wasn't getting off that easy.
    "No, no, that's alright, I'm just happy to help" she said almost hurriedly as the Karn offered to treat her at the Shining Nebula "'sides, don't tell anyone, but I kinda work evening shift barkeep there" her gaze had only left Goliath long enough to speka to the Karn after Goliath had made her intorduction for her, now she turned to him "How the hell do you know Mel?!...Oh forget it" she said putting a hand up to stop the synths response "Computers, hacking yadda yadda" she sighed, one synth was bad enough for her to worry about. she'd only JUST broken him of some of his more annoying habits. "Anyway, Like Golaith here said, names Tetra" she smiled as she satarted walking again "The 'hound' circling your feet there is Fang" fang had started circling the Karn as they walked, a curious look to the synths face, if you could call it that. it was hard to read the synths emotions if he wasn't either grinning or making some sort of noise. "Don't mind him too much, he's 'mostly' harmless. Ain't that right boy?" Fang looked up for a moment as he cocked his head to the side before resuming his 'observations' of the traveler "Seems he's taking a liking to you too...so, what brings you to our little corner of the Galaxy?" she made an small attempt at small talk since the resturant was only a couple minutes from where she'd been looking for her package "Fang? you want to run ahead and let Mel know we're on our way?" the synth nodded once and dashed off, vanishing a few moments later as he ducked through a serviceway, taking a shortcut to the bar.
    Fang, with the ego his AI had, sent a burst reply telling Goliath that he didn't need the full synths hacking programs, quite bluntly too, that he had an update of his own that was just waiting to be installed. which in itself was true, but it'd been sitting for months without having been updated. neither he nor Tetra had ever found a real reason to take the time to upgrade his system
    ~~~~~~
    "Woah! hey there Fang!" Mel had almost tripped over the synth as he headed back out to the bar once more "Did you and Tetra Find her package?" teh synth motioned to a console folding out from a place under the bar. Fang had no means of vocal communication, so early on, Tetra had modified an old computer to work as an imput for Fang. the text appeared on one of the Bar computers, a tablet style one used for taking orders by hand
    <Red October>
    <Platform 46>
    <Need Captain>
    <You know?>
    His 'speech' was simple, but easy enough to understand. Mel nodded and motioned to teh Collie "She's sitting right down there, but le--" he didn't even get to finish as the Synth grabbed the serving tablet and trotted down the bar to where the collie was sitting, and putting is front 'paws' up on the back side of the counter, the tablet he'd used to 'speak' to Mel, locked in the three prong claw on the end of his tail, now hanging just in front of him, more text scrolled on the screen
    <Captain Red October?>
    < Inquiry Package FC325561922...>
    Fangs paws were pushed off the counter as he hit the floor with a Thud "What've I told you about jumping up on the counters before" Fang emitted an annoyed growl and held the screen up again
    <Sorry>
    < Inquiry?>
    Mel nodded "Sorry about that Carra, Fang can be a little overenthusiastic at times, but he means well--Alright alright! I'll ask!" Fang had been pushing against Mels leg the entire time he'd been talking "Persistent little bastard too" He waved Fang away, who reluctantly complied, as he continued "anyway, Fang got word that the package he and Tetra went out looking for is aboard your ship, seems she made a lucky guess that I might know you. He want's to know if it'd be at all possible to get that package for her? if you need Tetra for it, she should be here in a minute or so, she has a habit of sending Fang on ahead sometimes" he set the trays he'd been carrying on one of the server drones and it took off into the main area, careful not to make a mess of it's orders, making it's first stop at the booth that'd ordered the "Tea and Chips" before taking off to deliver the rest of it's orders

    Jax heard the comment by the collie, and snarled to himself, his fingertips still drumming his pistol.
    His foul mood was not helped when a dragoness hit on him.
    "I'm taken," he snarled, angrily, "Or don't you see my horn-ring?"
    That got rid of the dragoness quick-smart. He stared at the collie for several seconds, then unslung his sniper rifle. He didn't bother pressing the button that would cause the weapon to unfold, and instead set about cleaning it while he waited.

    Goliath replied to Fang's message quickly, pointing out that the two of them were on the same side and cooperation furthered mutual goals. He then sent a small message to Tetra:
    <Commander Tetra, this platform is currently running at 10% of maximum combat capabilities. This platform requires refitting with weaponry.>

    Esakare flicks his ears as he catches a few stray words from a stranger, glancing briefly over at the raccoon from which it made the most logical sense that the sound would have originated from; a curiosity, he concludes, noting his stature and the head of the wallaby plushie poking out of his backpack, but stranger things are known to exist in the universe. He keeps an ear out without introducing himself, tuned to the voice of the stranger of interest.

    Kaythe flicked her ears as the synthetic spoke, "Eesh..." she muttered to herself, the selected voice coming across as agitating, her tail flicking behind her as she placed one boot in front of the other. Her hip stayed a measured distance from Tetra's, her body habitually adjusting its pace to match that of the vixen. The karn's hands swung freely as she walked, her eyes calmly looking about to take in the sites, "Well, alright then. " replied Kaythe, hiding her disappointment. She would have to find another outlet for her generosity.

    The mouth that held the large strong teeth of the Karnation was watering again, dragging her tough tongue over her lips and swallowing the spit that gathered was becoming a more regular practice the closer they got to the Nebula. The smell was making her belly churn more strongly; surprising her as she did not think her last meal was all that long ago. Her eye ridges raised slightly and her hands rose up to adjust her corset a bit. Her breasts were comfortable, held in place well enough. But her fur being bunched up was making her itch a little bit.

    "No I don't mind him. I'm looking for a critter of my own, though more along the organic lines. Trying to find vets and ore beast trainers during my time here. A Xorog {'Zor-og'} would be best. I did not know of them in home space but after seeing several in my travels im thinking about getting one."

    “Right, packages, I have a lot of those…” She said with a nod, “Yeah I’ll get it for you might as well go to meet…well who ever your owner is…” She said looking down at the animal like robot walk out of the Shining nebula, “Right I have people to meet and a lot of stuff to do tonight...” She said dropping a data pad by Phelan. All the text on it was scrambled and some of the symbols had never existed in some written languages, though it seemed to be a decaying code and began to assemble itself shortly.

    This message is a set of directions follow them to the letter and deviation will cause grave repercussions. You are still useful to me and should your endeavor end in success you can retire if that is your wish, or you may have something else that is within my power to give you. Follow the Collie that gave you this data pad more of the message will unscramble once certain events have taken place, from now on once the pad beeps you are give it a sample of your DNA to verify that you are still in possession of the data pad. Please place a single digit on the lighted area…DO NOT under any circumstances attempt to decode this message as the directions will not make sense without context…again please place a digit on the DNA pad in order to verify your DNA signature. Once given follow Miss Sheppard immediately…

    A few seconds later, a new message as it was added in as an afterthought.

    Tell Mel to get down as you leave…
    ----

    “Are you Tetra…?” Carra Sheppard asked as she met the owner of the persistent mid level synth outside the Shining Nebula, “Your little friend here decided to come and find me, something about a package that I have in my protected hold?” She said laying eyes on what she thought was a combat platform. She shrugged giving it a once over, it seemed to be a little advanced for Outer Rim Tech, though anything could be bought on the open market. “Hmm, expecting bad company are we…” She asked looking at Goliath once again she seemed more or less interested about his presence. Even though the Ark blade she carried was a bane to anything synthetic creature do to its anti material properties.

    ---

    “Evening…” An otter said taking a seat by the Lion, “I have information on your missing friend…” He said, “Don’t ask how I know, because I don’t know how the station mistress knows though I think it has something to do with the extensive surveillance systems on this station…” He said with a hint of paranoia “I have been asked to take you to her are you ready?” He asked in a polite manor, if direct though the otter still seemed to have no business beginning there, where did he come from he speech dilect would have signaled him as Divine Star citizen... “My name is Isis if you wish to know.” He yawned before mouthing excuse me, “Are you ready or do you have something to you wish to do first, the mistress is concerned about your friend for the moment and from what I can tell your friend did something to piss her off…a possible hanging offence on this station…” He looked at the Lion, with a ‘we need to move NOW look.’

    THe gryphon gasps softly at the message on the datapad, quickly looking back over his shoulder, yelping as his beak clumsily collides with the ported muzzle of the scattergun strapped securely to the side of his pack. He huffs in disapproval, rubbing his tender cere and looking down at the data pad.

    DNA sample...? Oh, cock...
    They're able to confirm my ID by genetic code? EIther they've managed to get more information about me than I realize, or they've been in contact with Marlowe's ROck outpost...

    I think... I think it would be a good idea to obey, for the time being. Maybe they'll let me return to 'me ship at some point... THen I have the option to either run, or at least get 'me crush-armor from the supply cabinet...

    I'm probably going to end up getting someone hurt. WHy does this have to be me?

    He gingerly sets his thumb into the provided space on the datapad, yelping again as the pad extracts a DNA sample, then hesitantly standing up and stepping away from the bar.

    THe gryphon looks at the bar-tender, eyes beginning to well up a bit.

    "Mr... Mr. Mel...? I'm terribly sorry for any inconvenience this... this is causing you... I'll pay for anything that happens in the end, I swear. I... YOu should... YOu should pro-probably hide when I leave, sir."
    WIth a trembling talon, he drops the datapad into a thigh pocket on his jumpsuit and quickly scrambles out of the restaurant after dropping a loose handful of bills that he wasn't even sure were accepted on-board the station for a tip, struggling to keep up with the collie.

    Any good warrior has a sixth sense, a "Danger Sense", and Jax was no exception. The tingling at the back of his neck was a sure danger sign. Without making the movements obvious, he stored the sniper rifle, and put a hand almost casually behind his back, closing his fingers around the grip of his scattergun. This time, the crackle of his shields coming online was discreet; hardly noticeable. He also absently placed the scanning visor unit up against his helmet, and almost sprang from his seat when the unfamiliar tech suddenly vanished inside his helmet.
    "What the f-." he cut himself off, remembering that his armour used some salvaged Draconian tech; although this had never happened to him before, it had happened to others. His blades had sprung out from the surprise, however, and he was unable to force them to retract.

    (OOC: Sorry for Lack of Posts: I've been really busy with school.)

    Aquis slowly ate her food: watching the debacle over at the counter with mild amusement. She didn't so much as flinch when Jax's Blades burst out of his armour: only gazed in mild interest.
    "Hmm... Draconian Blades... Don't see those often..." She murmured to herself as her little Data Assistant beeped into life: revealing an Advertisement for Volunteers for a series of small experiments. She recognised the name virtually instantly and grinned: Signing up for it and waving at Ozzy when he looked her way.
