Rayne pushed off from the door frame and slid back, coming to a stop with his left foot forward, his gun raised, and his right foot set under him, both to keep him balanced and coiled in case he had to move again. However, no matter how hard he looked, he didn't see anything. Frustrated, Rayne pulled his helmet back to its resting place and yanked his goggles back up to his forehead. Now looking with clear eyes, unhindered by mechanical assistance, they autoadjusted quickly, the way he'd been trained to make them. Beyond the door, now transparent, was just more dark corridoor. Slowly, Rayne moved forward until he was within arm's reach of the door. Still holding his rifle with one hand, he reached out with his left and gingerly touched the door with one of his claws.

(Assuming we can't go anywhere, please use this part of the post) His claws met with the door and he slid them down, making a half noticable scratch on the door. It obviously wasn't moving. Rayne pushed himself back slowly and stood, rifle pointed a little down and to his left, ready but out of the way. "So," he looked around at what he newly thought of as 'his' team. "Anyone else got any ideas? Alex, you sound like you know the place. Do you see any ways around?"

(And if we're allowed to go past the door, I'd like to throw this in as a way to do so. Either one's good, I just thought I'd throw my own two cents in) (Separate from previous paragraph) Rayne's claw touched the door, but only momentarily. As soon as he made contact, it curved inwardly and rippled out to the edges, as if the whole door were just part of one big bubble. Experimentally, Rayne pushed his hand a little more forward. The rippling door worked itself into the shape of Rayne's hand, but did no harm, only set in around it, like some sort of viscous fluid. The Riharian quickly pulled his hand out and stood, placing himself directly in front of the door where any fire coming from down the corridoor would be intercepted by his body. Closing his eyes, Rayne suddenly dropped into a sprinter's stance and shoved himself forward. Progress was slow, but eventually Rayne slid out of the other side of the door, coughing lightly.

His gun came up quick, despite the hacking in his throat. The Riharian spat a chunk of what he thought was the viscous door into a corner and shook his head, looking around to clear the area. Finally, satisfied it was, in fact, clear, Rayne looked back over his shoulder. "Cover your mouth on the way through and don't stop moving once you make contact. I'll watch our forward. Avartiath, watch our flanks, if you please."

(Hope that's okay if you ever meant us to go through, but please feel free to request its deletion if this is not the way you wish the story to go)

(@Everyone) The bulkhead does not turn transparent. Only the GM can make such decisions, you can only go so far as placing corridors, elevators, and doors - and that's only when I haven't laid them out myself.

Before anyone could mess with the door in crazy ways, Nalia tapped a few bottons on the panel near the door and it opened. "Please, it's not nessicary to fool around. Save you fancy door-busting equipment for a real impass." she still let him take point though because she had no armor at all.

In the cooridor ahead we need to turn right, at the en of the hall is an elevator. But I don't trust it. Wolvends actually do install stairs in their vessels still so we'll take them. They'll be on the right side of the hallway when we're facing the elevator. It's a spiral staircase." She explained it to them.

"Then we'll finally face a very heavy set of doors. It likely has higher security locks so there might be actual need for the heavy door-busting equipment you all seem so egar to use."

(OOC: Pointman isn't normally the leader, he's just granted a higher risk duty.)
AR-783's optics and thermals detected none of these disturbances, though he easily saw the side door that Nalia had indicated. Perhaps their equipment was faulty.

(Not to be rude but you guys have completely left me and my character in the dark. I received one complaint about my character possessing a rifle and for fairness sake I've changed the rifle load-out to a compact smg-like laser repeater weapon. It compacts and sits in a slot on my characters thigh, much easier to carry around when in tight quarters such as the insides of a spaceship. Duly noted this is why I don't believe in non-order posting methods, I did not receive any notification of new posts even though I set my msn to alarm me. Please though, don't make me loose my place in this rp.)=

I didn't understand these "Sensor-ghosts" everyone else was getting. Altinian census devices ran off of completely different technology. Well, 300.000 year old technology of pre-current-history Altinian society from the home galaxy, re-designed and improved upon through countless trials and errors. That wasn't to say it wasn't getting sensor-ghosts, but not in the numbers the others were getting. Mostly what I was getting was anomalous energy sigs that were inconsistent with the dreadnoughts current energy output.

Holstering my side-arm, deciding I would only get in the way if a real fight broke out, my personal projected armor could protect me from most things thrown my way, but I'd prefer not to have to rely on it until I had to, the technology was relatively new and still had a few bugs in the projector assemblies.

"Am I invisible or something? I hate to point it out but if any of you get injured I'm most likely the only one able to patch you up, though personally I'd prefer a fully equipped medical facility that's not something I'm likely to get a hold of any time soon and my current supplies will run out eventually, I guess if this scrap-heap has a medical facility I'd need to scavenge a few parts from it to keep this "team" going but, anyway... Why are you all acting like this? Sensor-ghosts are nothing to be afraid of.

For all we know this is a secret experimental dreadnought with an internal ECM generator that is running off of backup power and thus is screwing with most of our sensors, just alternate your census frequency and most of this static ought to clear up. I'm no technical engineer but even I know my equipments basic operating parameters. Now, would someone care to give me a copy of his map-scan? I don't want to get lost in here like in Left in Space II... I hate dark, scantly lit corridors..."

Lukken looks around what he can see of the elevator. "There, there's a ventilation duct. That probably leads to the elevator shaft at some point. Looks like you could make it through, and I can reattach it once you're past it and then slip through the vent itself." He wiggles into a more comfortable position in the bag, ready to get out to do that.

Nalia turned to Setsuna, "We haven't forgot you good doctor." Sam noticed he had taken his helmet off, he was rather cute she thought to herself. "Just to be honest, we don't need a doctor at this moment - no one seems injured... After we get to the bridge we'll see about getting you to the med-bay."

Nalia perked her ears as she hear the ship groaning, there was even a slight shaking "In the meantime I really have to see about getting main power online. If there's something wrong with grav plating, or anything Dark Matter Gamma infused, there could be massive damage to the ship - a small ship might not have issues, but a ship as big as this one could fall apart."

She rubbed her head in thought, "We also have to find out what's going on here. Why no crew? Why was this ship not being attacked?" She was more speaking to herself now, no-one would have answers.

Rayne held his rifle up and began moving down the corridor. "Doc and Nalia, stay between me and the Draconian. You too, roboy (Riharian slur for robotics of any kind, only mildly insulting, but there isn't much better). Draconian, keep your eyes behind us and move fast. Everyone, follow me. Nalia, you stay close. I'm not much good if I don't know where I'm going," he said. Waiting for them to get ready, Rayne started a quick walk in a half crouch.

(I'm a little dry, sorry to say, as I'm WAY too excited about the new star wars MMO. Sam, please feel free to take a little control of Rayne if you'd like. As long as you don't make him talk, I'm cool with whatever. Figured you could use control of the point man. Anyway, I might not be on so much, but I'll try to be back as much as possible. Peace)

"Thank you Nalia (will correct if I made a mistake but I think you mentioned your characters name by now), much appreciated. I may not be an expert on anti-matter or dark-matter, my people doesn't use such an unstable technology. Nor am I an engineer but when you say the ship could come apart at its seems at any moment if there is such an issue, I think I had better re-seal my suit in case something like that occurs."

Placing my helmet back on my head I re-sealed it, double-checking all the seals to make sure there wasn't a breech. The delicate nanotechnology had a habit of breaking if something severe happened such as an improper unsealing process.

"A quick idea though. If this ship is truly abandoned, would the enemy bother to attack it? Also these anomalous energy signatures, even if they were part of some some sort of cloaking system anyone with long-range optics could spot this thing. Either way the sooner I get to a well equipped medical facility the sooner I can be of more use, there might also be logs by the ships doctor, could there be a plague on-board? I think I'd rather know that right away."

Sam shook her head, "This dreadnought probably had the biggest mass driver in the fleet. I would have targeted it, abandoned or not." They got to the staircase without complications, "The stairwell is built into hte struct of the ship so it's safe. However I don't want to get killed if there's something threatening down there. Would one of you powered armor boy-scouts go down there first please?"

"Never call me a boy scout again, Inu," Rayne growled. (Inu is the Riharian equivelant of the spanish word Chica, to be clear) "Stay back and behind the big guy if bullets start flying. I'll be right back."

Without waiting for response, Rayne jumped down the first bit of stairs, used the momentum to wall run around, then did the same to the next few. He went down a few levels and, seeing nothing hostile or moving at all, began his ascent back up. Taking the steps three and four at a time with casual leaps, he displayed the natural acrobatics of the Riharian population quite powerfully. Rayne landed right in front of Nalia, having leaped over the last few steps. "Stairs are clear, unless we got Reavers on the ship. Didn't see any signs of them, either," Rayne whispered carefully. Something was still wrong. He felt like he was being watched.

"Makes me wish we had an Aegis suit here," Avartiath said; he had a very creepy feeling at the back of his neck, and that didn't happen easy for Draconians. The reference to the incredibly well-armoured, but slow and heavy, combat suit came naturally to the Draconian, but might confuse a few of the others.

Art nodded at the Riharian. The CCA drone ignored Rayne's slur, and if Art was honest with himself, it didn't really matter what he was called.... or at least it didn't matter /too/ much. Though the Atinian's word, the good doctor so to speak, did register.
"If there was a plague, wouldn't one of you already have caught it?"
AR-783's knowledge of biological chemistry was practically non-existant. Viruses, and diseases was not something he had ever bothered to concern himself with.
He shuffled himself behind the pointman gratefully. AR-783 had no wish to die aboard this vessel. Let the Riharian take the lead. Art focused his optics finally on Nalia.
"Ah, Nalia... would you know if a vessel such as this uses shields?"
Art's voice, sounded relatively nervous about that...

Nalia turned to Art, "No, the Wolvends don't implement the use of shields or FTL drives. They have to be with a jump ship to get to FTL. They use much heavier armor though to compenstate. There are a few Mark 2 models they've made which have sheilds and FTL but they're expensive as hell. Thisd ship is definately Mark 1, which will leave us later." If the jumpship was destroyed, this ship had no way to get to FTL - big problem. However, both Nalia and everyone else have yet to discover that the ship is indeed traveling at FTL this very moment.

With confirmation that the lower level was clear Nalia went down the stairs and the large set of doors to the auxiliary bridge. She studied the panel next to it for a long time then spoke in confusion, "That's not right... This panel is showing me things in a language I don't understand..." None of the others would either, it seems to be an unknown language. Nalia turned to her 'boy-scouts' "Alright, now you can use all your fancy door-busting stuff." She backs away from the door so they could work.

Rayne took a defensive position beside the door and waved the non-combatants behind him for cover. "Draconian, you're up," he said with half a smile. Something had changed. His instincts, his familiar 'ground' in squad command, all his training was being of use here. He'd much rather fight and move with a squad of other Riharians, as, given the right equipment, they'd probably already have control of the ship by now. Riharians moved fast, to be humble. Still, Rayne couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. 'What the hell is going on?' he growled in his own mind. 'I feel pent up, kind of like someone put me in an energy cage...wait, this is familiar. I get this same deal when we hit FTL speed. The fact that even if I have armor, if I go out side, I'm screwed. That makes me feel like that, but...she just said we couldn't be in FTL...must be something else. Probably the silence. There's hardly anyone breathing on this damned ship.'

The Riharian dismissed the feeling as nerves. Gunfire, yelling, taunting, laughing, all of these sounds were heard regularly on a Riharian ship. The lack of any would be odd to one so familiar. The lack of all was completely unnerving to one not so strong willed. Even so, Rayne concentrated on his already sharp hearing, if for no other reason than to distract himself from Kara.

The Reaver had stopped cold when horde of bodies moved past. The Elevator doors had been closed, but her echolocation systems still picked them up. “Hmm, I guess we are not alone.” She said to herself as she opened the duct. On the other side was a duct that she could see in perfect clarity. She let Lukken out of his small bag to do his offered job. She waited for a moment, as he Reattached the panel before crawling through the vent itself. She thought for the moment that the little reptile was going to be very useful to her on this ship. Lukken crawled back inside the bag a moment later which disappeared.

Stath soundlessly crawled through the vent system for a few moment before coming to an exit in which she could tell was the elevator shaft. “Excellent.” She said, moving through the shaft would allow her to avoid breaking her stealth. She was still worried about the sound that vent would make once she opened it. But didn’t want to risk her new friend in the shaft, she figured it best she just hold onto the vent till she was through. It took her a moment to gently open the vent to elevator shaft, inside she could see a ladder used in case of elevator failure. Which was close to the vent itself. It took her a moment to get into the correct stance to make the small jump.

She jumped across the small open area of space to grab the ladder on the other side. It was the first time she had a made a sound on the ship, even then it was muffled heavily. It was then that she realized that she wouldn’t be able to return the vent to its original place. This led her to swear at herself. That would be noticeable, though the chances of someone crawling through the vent system were low. Instead she settled for placing the vent opening in such a way that it was perched on the ladder and wouldn’t move. ‘it’ll do…' She thought before climbing down the number of decks necessary to reach the auxiliary bridge a total of three in all.

This time she came to another vent, this one much like the one from before. Again she opened it and placed it on the ladder so it would not fall before climbing in. The exit point of this one was much shorter than the last one. Her Echolocation systems told her that it was all clear on the other side of the vent. She opened it, albeit slowly before jumping to the ground outside into hallway. Behind her she could see a large set of heavy doors. She merely shrugged at the doors. Her layout told her that the stairs from before terminated there which meant the aliens from before where on the other side of the door.

Looking at the layout again it looked like she had an all clear from here to the auxiliary bridge, she closed the vent that she had crawled through before turning and walking away down the hall.

"I believe that task, would fall on me" Alex said with a low growl in his voice. he was a little less than pleased at the Riharian taking command and trying to issue orders to them so...easily. a disc, slightly larger than before, spun and dropped from his leg plating into his paw "You Will want to stand back for this one" this disc, while similar in design, came in a set of two. only for the reason that it had a habit of breaking itself from it's own power. A pulse disc was designed for opening doors that were more than a little subborn, and given that there seemed to be something already messing with the computer systems, he didn't feel the need to run the possibility of a failure with his shock disc...that and the bridge was bound to have somewhat different locking mechanizims than a hanger bay door. he slid back a cover on the face of it and punched in a passkey, closing it and sliding a claw in the opposite direction armed the device. he slapped it as close to dead center of the doors as he could along the split that divided them. a green light blinked once, then turned Red in acknowledement, before starting to flash, rapidly getting quicker and quicker "Ten second timer...And now we back the hell off, unless of course you Want to be knocked on your ass and have a concussion that'll give ya a headache to last the next month" he quickly backtracked away from the door, making it just around the corner with the others before a *beep-Click* was heard and a resounding *FOOM!* as the pulse activated, rattling every panel in the hallway, from the baseboards, to causing the lights in the ceiling to flicker. Alex waited a moment, then poked his head back around the corner to check on the doors. the device was still stuck to it, the light went Red again and Alex pulled his head back as the device went off once more, once again rattling the entire hallway. a metallic clatter was heard soon after and Alex grinned. he checked around the corner and found the device laying on the floor, in front of the partially opened doors. the Device was designed to go off up to four times should once or twice not be enough 'pulse power' to break the doors locks. "Avarsi....Avarath..." he gave up trying to remember how to pronounce the Draconians name for the moment "Draconian! sorry, give me a hand with these doors if ya would" he said, scooping up the Pulse DB as he hurried back up to the doors. he grabbed onside and began to pull it to the side, hoping the Draconian would be able to take care of the other. the door started to move, slowly but surely apart from the other door

(Holy crap, I've gone through this thinking you were the Draconian, buzz! Lol, kinda, but I am sorry for the misunderstanding. I gotta pay more attention, man o_O)

Rayne moved forward, slinging his rifle and grabbing a side to pull. He yanked with the other two, adding his own slightly enhanced power to the effort. Just in case the bigger ones working on the door needed room, Rayne stayed low, bracing his foot against the oposite side of the door and pushing it as well to add to his strength. It probably didn't matter much, but he wanted to help.

(Nice, easy, out of the way. I didn't jump the proverbial gun again, did I?)

Avartiath gripped the door, and heaved. The door, despite its weight, went screeching into its slot, sending the Draconian staggering forwards through the door. His face came within an inch of the Reaver's as he regained his balance.
He saw the displays, and the bunch of yellow lights around what looked vaguely like an FTL monitor, and he frowned. Then his eyes widened, and he quickly tapped commands into the gauntlet-mounted computer unit. His sensors came back up, now in FTL mode. At least for a moment, before they reset, and suddenly entered a new mode, in which there was no noticable interference.
But the moment in which the sensors were in FTL mode, they picked up truly bizarre readings.
"Nalia?" he asked, "You got a computer on you? I can't make heads or tails of these readings."

"Brute but efficient, pulse bombs are always useful but, I do believe a nanotechnology injector would have been more subtle, in case we need to have those doors seal up again in case something nasty decides it wants a snack?" I had been one of the first to duck around the corner for reasons none of the others yet knew, but that pulse disc would have made a real mess of me. I was tempted to release my suits micro-drone to do a bio-scan on the room now that it was open, but they just might berate me for not sending it through the ventilation shafts to scout it ahead of time anyway so I figured I'd avoid that bit for now at least. I pulled out my pistol and charged it, setting it to beam-mode, in case something decided to jump at me at least I'd scare it with a burning hot light show! That's, about all the Mk. IV pistol was useful for anyway, not designed to actually counter anything it fired at just, kind of scare it away for a relatively short while.

Nalia seemed to ignroe the heavy infantryman, "I'll look into it later. I want to get to the bridge." She pointed down the hall, where there was another set of heavy doors. "Behind that one is the bridge."

She examined their handiwork on the doors, "If I could have opened them peacefully I would have, good Doctor. For some odd reason the controls are in an unknown language... It's safe to conclude that the next set of doors are the same, so I hope you boy-scouts have more tricks up your sleeves." Indeed, she called them boy-scouts again.

"This keeps getting stranger," Avartiath muttered, ignoring Nalia's slur against him, and, indeed, his entire species, as he turned his attention to the next door.
A cursory scan of the door showed up even worse results.
"Oh great," he grumbled, punching it, "The door's locked, all right. It's also electically shielded. Those pulse generators aren't going to get us through."

Reaver looked at the group of aliens behind her, she knew that they were also going to eventually go through the door she was standing in front of. While she was not fond of helping the others behind her she figured it was the quickest route and quite likely the only way to enter the bridge. Stath set off a set of neural commands that caused her to decloak, she was now in plain view of the group though she was at least fifteen meters ahead of them. It was possible to tell that it was Reaver merely from the fact that that the person in the suit had a tail almost twice as long as the person was tall. She slowly grabbed one of her short swords that was attached to her side. As she grabbed the hilt of the sword it lit up glowing an intense violet color as the plasma that surrounded the blade heated up. The Smell of ozone was in the air as the blade moved. A second latter the smell of vaporized metal was in the air as the Reaver pushed the blade through the door, the intense heat of the plasma flash vaporized the metal as they neared each other. Six seconds passed until the Reaver removed the blade. A third of the way through cutting itself a door in the armored blast door. A second short blade was grabbed from its side repeating the process of the first.

Two thirds of the way complete the Reaver removed its long blade from its back, a highly recognizable Reaver weapon carried by the assassins of the Imperial Inquisition. With this blade she finished her cutting through the blast door. “Nothing stands under the touch of holy flames…” The Voice was female, and the Reaver looked at them as she kicked the new “door” that she had cut into the blast door causing it to fall was a low crack. With her single sentence the Reaver cloaked again disappearing from view.

"Reaver!" Avartiath exclaimed, hand dropping to his pistol. His race had never been on good terms with the Reavers; the Draconians' rather direct combat style was treated by the Reavers with scorn, while the Draconians had come to distrust all Reavers. Only the Shadow Legion and its stealth tactics got any sort of respect from the Reavers, and even then, it was "corrupted" by the fact that the Free Legions and Shadow Legion shared so much technology.
His other hand went, automatically, to where his shielded sword would normally be sheathed; the weapon was immune to Arc Blades, as it projected an energy shield that protected it, and also doubled as the cutting edge.
"hu- Gah... Weapons down, guys," he grumbled, retrieving his dropped carbine and swinging it into port position.
"She's a sword specialist," he continued, a low growl still emanating from his throat, "One of those... Imperial Inquisition, I think it was."

AR-783's optics registered the sudden appearance of the Reaver and immediately started a diagnostics check. It was confirmed that this was not a malfunction... which led his e-brain to the next logical thought....
It had to be a Reaver.
    Shit.
Art stumbled backwards, away from the Reaver, helpfully crashing into whoever was behind him.
    "It's a Reaver!"
AR-783's voice tinged on panic, easily, seeing as most drones to enter Reaver space never returned. Indeed Reaver's were famous for infilitration and assasination. To Art's mind, this either meant that:
    A) The Reaver was here to assasinate /them/.
Or B) The Reaver would kill them anyway, that being the norm of the Xenophobic Reavers.

((OOC: This is all wild speculation on Art's mind).

I kept my cool, though I ducked behind the most heavily armored member of our little "team" to avoid the Reaver possessing a direct line-of-sight with me. Altinians weren't hated by Reavers, but the relationship was most certainly not a flourishing one.

Running a quick multiple-spectrum analysis of the area to determine where the Reaver was, I witnessed as the female, as was obvious from the sound of her voice, cut through the blast doors using one of their famed plasma-edged melee weapons. Most effective against heavily armored entities, but less than ineffective against heavily shielded targets as the energy in a shield would prove disruptive to the blades plasma coat.

Witnessing her vanish again I couldn't help but wonder if through some unimaginable irony the universe had actually seen it fit so as to strand a bloody Reaver on the same ship as me? I put that thought to rest right away lest it drive me quite mad with complicated thesis thought... Still, something to ponder. I stepped out from behind the heavily armored trooper, my visors glowing as I kept running scans. A moot attempt really, Altinian sensors couldn't penetrate Reaver cloaking technology.

Watched as the creature came and went, Nalia could tell the group was a little scared of her, but no-one had attacked. "Next time something appears out of no-where, kill it." Nalia said as she approached the hole in the door. "I wonder what it's thinking though, why doesn't it just join us?" She stopped at the door, "Any scouts looking for a badge? Go inside first." She wasn't going to take any chances, particularly after learning they weren't alone.

Behind the doors would be the bridge, in the center of the room was a circle of consoles, it seemed to be the main controls. But in various locations in the room there were other controls. On the other side was a big screen, it was blank but it would be easy to tell it was the veiwscreen. There were two small doors in locations, leading to other parts of the ship.

Nalia suddenly fell to her knees near the door, stopping herself from falling completely over by placing her paws on the floor. She realized in all this excitement she had forgotten to take her medicine. Her heartrate and breathing accelerated, and she started to growl quietly. She could feel her higher brain functions leaving her, she had to be quick. She reached into one of her pockets and pulled out a pill bottle hastily. She struggled to open it and took a couple pills out, swallowing them as fast as she could. After a little bit her problems died away and she stood back up. "Here's something you could do doctor." She approached the cute lion-creature and handed him the pill bottle, "Make sure I take to of these a day - or you're down a scientist."

"a wha---" he started to say to the draconian, before catching sight of the materializing form "...Oh Fucking hell..." he took a step back unconsciously away from the Reaver as it made it's way toward him, no...it was't nteresting in him...it was heading toward the doors. he stepped out of hte way in a stunned silence. a Reaver?! the HELL was a Reaver, doing on a ship like this?! in a few motions, the Reaver had cut a door -in- the door. then it spoke, a single line about the 'holy flames' and vanished through the doorway, in more ways than one. Alex stood there staring at the door a long moment, the pulse DB he'd been reaching for reset itself in his leg panel, never having made itto his hand. he Blinked a couple times, and looked around "What...the fuck just happened..." it took him another moment to completely snap out of it and realize Nalia was asking for volenteers. Alex grinned and stepped forward, "your white knight shall take the plundge for you my fair princess" he said, slightly sarcastically with a feigned nobility, an edge of truth seeping into his voice though as he finally started showing some of his true colors as he adjusted to those around him "Ya better have one of those badges ready, gotta add it to my collection!" he grinned and thumped his chest, ducking down to fit his way into the door the Reaver had left, the Reaver being a good bit shorter, made things for the seven foot recin somewhat...challenging. he put a hand on the floor and slid through the smaller doorway with only a minor bit of trouble when his gun decided to catch on the door frame. a bit of grumbled cursing and he was through. he climbed to his feet and glanced around. the Viewscreen was dark, but it seemed to be intact. and most of the consoles were still intact....and there was no sign of the Reaver
"Seems to be all clear in here!" he kneeled by the 'doorway', just in time to see the lightfirean handing the pill bottle to the Doctor guy "Uh...no sign of the reaver either...I miss something here?" he asked, having ducked into the doorway just before Nalia had pulled out her pill bottle
