FA and DA Page Buttons!

Have you ever wanted a real classy way to redirect your friends to your FurAffinity or Deviant Art pages?

Well, now you can!

Just enter the following code into your signature, and you'll have no more need of having to write out those long url redirects just to show your friends your page!

Here they are, and in order - along with the buttons as they will appear in your signature:

Deviant Art:

[da]yourusername[/da]

FurAffinity:

[fa]yourusername[/fa]

When you enter these codes into your signature, it is important to remember that the username you enter must not be your username for Scififur.net. It needs to be the username you are using for the page you are choosing the button for - i.e. my username on FurAffinity and Deviant Art is "Barefootstallion" (this is not case sensitive) so I entered that name in the code.

Also, the buttons will appear automatically after you save your signature with the new code. You can then go back into your signature and the buttons can be dragged and dropped any where in your signature that you like - so you don't need to worry too much about positional placement of the code itself, while you are entering it.

EDIT: I clicked on my FA sig button, and FA gave me a system error.
Then I realized something. Type in your username AS IT IS IN THE URL!

My problem? My FA username is Slate_D (note the underscore).

Even though that is my username, it didn't work. So, I removed the underscore, so it just says 'Slated' and now it works just fine.

Just a heads up in case someone runs into a similar problem ^,=,^

Seriously? Hmmm, when I clicked on your FA button, it took me to your user page on FA, where it shows you to be "Slated".

Interesting nonetheless. I'll have a look into why this is doing this.

EDIT IN: Ah. This is a problem with FA's database lookup system, not with the function of the button. Unsurprising really; FA uses a pretty dated software interface, a lot of it custom written proprietary code. But fixing it should be a pretty simple matter - just trying out different variations on your FA username until you come upon the one that works should do the trick.

2nd EDIT IN: Quite interesting, this. When I went again to your user page, Slate, I noted that the tab for it said "Slated", but your username is listed as "Slate_D" next to your avatar.

There is the hint, then; enter your username as it appears in the tab for FA, as opposed to your actual username as you registered it to FA.

Actually, I figured out the problem and fixed it before I edited the post =P

Now that I think of it, I ran into a similar problem a long time ago when I manually typed in the URL to get to my FA page.

But, basically what I'm getting at is if you (the reader) use something other than a letter or number in your FA name, don't include it in the URL, or [fa] code ^,=,^
