Re: The Numberless
Shade couldn't take it anymore and stepped up behind Puk, clenching a fist as he tapped his shoulder. Puk turned and Shade gave him a sharp left hook to the nose, which ended up doing more damage to Shade's fingers than Puk, but he bit down on his tongue so the bear wouldn't see just how much it hurt, "Alright you goddamn barbarian, I really don't give a shit what you're a part of, or how you were raised, or any shit like that, but it isn't necessary to kill the helpless, alright?! So how bout cutting the shit!!?"
Fuming and in pain, Shade swiped the key and began undoing the cuffs on the hung up tiger, ears twitched sideways for the bear's retaliation once the shock of someone having the balls to hit him wore off, though Shade knew he must have broken at least two fingers in his left hand.

Re: The Numberless
The Collie watched the bear kill the tiger, she shrugged. "Puk did right, killing him means we don't have a witness, course he was going to die anyway. But hey, no kill like overkill." She was unphased, she frankly didn't care, she watched the halfbreed make an attempt on the bear by punching him. She laughed at the halfbreed before she made her way out of the prison truck away from the rest of the people still in their. "Makes me wonder how many of us are going to make it out this predicament alive..." She said aloud, if it wasn't for the bear still inside she would have walked off.

Re: The Numberless
Puk just smiled. It was cute, really, to see this little one challenge him. Then he saw something in the boy that made him remember something from a long time ago. Rather than retaliate, he stalked past him and spoke in a quiet tone, "Sometimes people just have to die...maybe...if you don't hate me I can teach you how to fight later." His tone was almost father-like, or big brother-ish. He went to the front of the group and stood beside Franklin. "I have just been punched for killing someone who is our enemy. Does anyone else want to punch me? No? Then I suggest you all get it together. There is a line between friend and foe, and out here, you can't afford to let your enemies live because I can guarantee they would not do the same for you. When we get out of here there will be time for instituting our own ethics, but we are on their turf...if I see any more of you attempting to save the life of one of them then I will be forced to stop you through any means necessary.
"I am guessing most of you have never taken a life based on how you treat it. We need to utilize that in a way that can help us survive any predicament." He looked at everyone and did a quick look around. Mako and I are definitely the brawn of this group. We can get in close and take out targets. Ivona, can we all rely on you for tactics and intel--if we get into a bind we will be counting on you. Garren is good with weapons if I am not mistaken. And you," he turned to the vixen, "If you are so eager to heal people then you had best not be wasting our MediPacks on our enemies." He looked at the one who had punched him. "Well, I suppose we could come up against a situation where we might need to use bait..." He chuckled and looked at the rest of the prisoners and began thinking about ways to best utilize their talents in order to get everyone out of this situation.

Re: The Numberless
Sasha rolled her eyes as her explanation for healing the tiger in the first place was ignored, "Alright then. Let the whole town come. The tiger could have slowed them down. A person's life is extremely valuable to a person, I was going to use that to get him to do what I said."
Sasha made note that the collie had something psychologically wrong with her and the bear had a drug addiction, fun. She also made note that she wasn't going to use her expertise on the bear, should he fall ill. In any case, Sasha stayed near the bird, she wouldn't last long against anyone here in a fight.
"At any rate, I know this doctor. Maybe we should go to him, make sure you are all ok. I can only give you a glance over he could do better."

"HA!" The foxes comment made Ivona laugh uncontrollably for a moment. "A life is absolutely worthless in the bigger picture, the only thing thats gives a life worth is if her connections to those around him. Even then the impact on the world is minute at best, so in the larger picture a mans life is worthless, even own lives. They only have wroth to ourselves and those we have connections with. To anyone outside that web we may as well be a non entity. Haven't you noticed, my self excluded when a single man dies people feel some sort of angst? But when millions die no really knows how to act. Its not numbness its a total lack incomprehension. You can't fathom that many people look like, seeing there rotted carcases baking, decaying in the afternoon sun. Such a thing most minds can't wrap their feeble brains around."
"Hmm a doctor...that might be interesting..."

Sasha shook her head some to what the border collie said, "That's not what I meant. I meant to him, or any individual, their life is the most precious thing they have. They'll grovel to have it preserved."
She started to think about how to get to the doctors office from here. "Let's see..." Of course, if someone had a better idea they could do that instead.

Mako tried to grunt out a short 'thanks' as the hybrid undid the lock holding his arm to the ceiling, ending more in a grunt of pain as the shackle released and he thudded to the opposite side of the van. he sat up, rubbing his wrist where the shackle had been. it felt good to be free of it...he looked at the other one still clamped tight on his arm, a silent reminder to him that he was still in debt to his fate. he took the keys from the hybrid and undid the locks on his ankles as he listened to the Polar Bear give his 'speech'. He snorted as the bear continued, "I'll only take a life when I See it as necessary...not when you deem that someone should die because you see them as being in your way" he turned himself to sit on the edge of the doorway. some blood dripped from his forehead and he wiped it on his arm, smearing the blood in his fur rather than actually getting rid of it. "Not everyone owes the debt of life" he blinked a couple times, a dazed blinking that seemed as if he was about to pass out. "...I'm allllll for looking that doctor up though..." he shook his head as though trying to snap himself out of a daze, he put a hand on the door frame as he tried to stand up. he turned and looked around for the medkit he knew would always be kept inside a prison van such as this, he needed some asprin...something! to help with this throbbing in his head...maybe a bandage or two as well...

Re: The Numberless
Gometh saw the crash coming an instant before it happened, and pulled his chains as tight as he could. He still bounced around a fair amount, however, and ended up hanging halfway from what was now the floor.
Guess a good pull is out of the question now, he thought, but couldn't say; instead, he wormed his hands around, and managed to poke a claw into one of the cuffs' locks. A second later, the hand came free, causing him to fall awkwardly. The sleeve of his jumpsuit had torn, however, and around his wrist was a military-issue wrist computer.
He now had just enough leeway to give the remaining cuff and the chain a few hard tugs, causing the chain to snap halfway between his hand and the other handcuff. A moment of work, and the other cuff came free, affording Gometh a crude, but possibly effective flail weapon.
Reaching up, he unstrapped the muzzle, and dropped it to the floor as he started working on the ankle cuffs using a claw.
"Corporal Gometh," he said as he worked, "Former military. Arrested and charged with political activism. I was only crossing the street to get a coffee."
His feet came free, and he stood up, then stepped out of the truck and swung the chain in his hands into a blurring circle.
"It's no wonder the Resistance is so big," he said eventually, over the continued whistle of the chain, "If this is what Stalwart does to an innocent man.
There was a moment's silence from him, other than the whirling chain.
"My place is just a couple of blocks from here," he said, "If we drop by there, we can grab some weapons, and I can change out of this darned jumpsuit; it's already starting to chafe. We can't stay for long, though; that's likely the first place they'll look when they discover that we survived."

"Yes, our homes are going to be under heavy surveillance. We can't consider them our homes anymore. I say we stick with the idea of getting to this doctor, at least for Mako's sake." He looked at him and then smiled, "I didn't say anything about forcing you to kill anyone, I just would like you to be perceptive to the fact that you are a fugitive on the run and that changes things. If you are soft you will most likely die." He pointed a finger and laughed. Blood was still pumping heavily through his veins, his muscles tense and...then he realized....he had been talking a lot lately. Oh, no, not again! What had he said this time? He looked around and saw several angry faces. His heart was beating fast. His mind screamed behind his eyes for him to shut up, to stop being like this, but the drugs were strong! Had he killed someone? "Then again, I guess we are all lucky that I will always be around to finish he job when you get weak..."

Nowen stayed silent as this went on. He would not engage in a power battle with one so forceful, both physically and in character, as the bear, but also this way could remain out of the "right to kill" debate, and thus take sides later without being deemed a hypocrite. He simply observed, forcing himself to adopt a neutral expression. He stayed silent also when the request for ideas emerged, only joining in when the point of his personal plan was raised by the human.
"Yes, we have a plan. As to whether I trust you enough to take you directly to the Resistance, I'm not so sure," he looked at the bear, collie and 'ex'-military dragon in turn "I would suggest this doctor first though. Some of us seem in need of medical care" Turning to Sasha he smiled and asked "May I ask this doctor's name?"

She said looking back at the Tiger.

"Dr. Stephen Yotes" She answered, "He should be willing to help us. He helps people in the slums, even though the hierarchy prefers not using medical supplies on those of low rank." Sasha trotted to the tiger, "Till then, let me see what I could do." She only had a few bandages, and bits of the shirt she had torn earlier that she had planned to use on the other tiger. So the best she could do was keep him from bleeding.
"Well are we ready? I suggest grabbing some of the weapons from the dead guards, in case we run into some trouble on the way."

"Doctor Yotes?" Gometh said, his chain swinging to a stop, "Isn't that interesting. I happen to know him. There's also someone else I know, but she's military. Besides which, she hates the Resistance. If we want to make use of her help, we're going to have to do some lying. My old CO," he explained, "She owes me some favours, even if she never really liked me that much. And I agree that we had best get going. Those sirens are getting too close for my comfort."

Nowen nodded as he listened to the conversations developing. "I've heard of Yotes, they say he's one of the good ones. We'll move out right now, and yes, grabbing the weapons is a good idea. I'll take one -"
"No" Franklin walked up to him, eyeing Puk, and handed his rifle over "Take mine. I'm going the other way"
Nowen looked surprised, but nodded and took the weapon. "Okay. Thank you, best of luck" Franklin skittered away, stopping to talk quietly with Garren. Nowen continued "Take their ear pieces too. They'll send out a blanket search call, and we can keep one step ahead if we hear where they're looking for us. Now, let's go find that doctor!"
((There are 2 guns and 2 ear pieces available. In the spirit of fairness, don't take one of each, either go gun or ear piece. You may however take one of each and then hand one to another character. Because it's the only way to do it, it will be first come first serve. As soon as this is sorted, we'll go properly into the city. This is your last chance to do anything with or get anything from the truck, or to interact with Franklin))

Ivona grabbed an ear piece. "I'll a keep a look out for information." She would have taken a weapon but that would have drawn her on a killing spree and she knew that. She would rather get up close and personal in any case, she grabbed a rifle as well. "Anyone need a gun?" She asked holding it out stock first to anyone that wanted it, with her other hand she put the ear piece in one of her pointed ears.

Gometh, too, took an earpiece.
"I'm going to need this," he said, "And I'll let someone else take a gun. I've got this chain. It's not much, but hey, it's better than nothing."
He affixed the earpiece to his horn, and over his ear hole.
"We'll split up," he said, "One group comes with me, the other goes with the good doctor. We both know where Doctor Yotes works. We'll meet there and discuss things further."
"So we can communicate," he continued, "Ivona, I'm afraid you're going to have to go with the doctor. No choice. Each team should also have one gun. We're going to need it, at least until we find some other firearms."
He was silent for a moment, then continued.
"We can also probably use these earpieces to listen in on their radio chatter, so it makes sense to have one with each team."

Shade grimaced at the Collie, seeing the gun in her hand, even with no finger wrapped around the trigger, was enough to make him want to run away. He made his way over to the tiger he'd unlocked the cuff for, who seemed to be a little unsteady. Shade tapped him on the shoulder gingerly, "Hey, do you need some help? You look like you're about to pass out." he said as he offered the tiger his shoulder.

Mako blinked a couple times as the hybrid offered a shoulder, he put a massive paw on the shoulder and one on the door frame,"I...I think I'll be alright...thank you" now that the bleeding had stopped, he was slowly starting to recover some of his senses...the first thing those senses caught was The collie with a gun. bad idea, probably to everyone, and a moment after she'd offered the gun, he'd pushed off Shades shoulder and door frame, grabbed it and shouldered it like a hunter with his rifle. "How about...we get moving then?" he turned to the dragon as he returned to the truck to support himself till they could get going, as much of an edge in his voice as he could muster in his current state "who died and put you in charge?" he could see the logic in the idea, but he could also see the military bracelet on the dragons wrist. "We're convicts, not a military fireteam under your command." He looked over the group once before returning his gaze to the dragon "And I don't think you could make a real fireteam with this lot if you tried. we're best off sticking together at this point. Now, can we please get to this Dr. Yotes? I've got a helluva headache, and standing around isn't doing any of us any good"
